Nivea Visage Oil Regulating Toner Review

Hey All!

After finishing up my Ayur Herbal Astringent, I decided to give this toner a try as I was bored with the former. I cannot stick with one product and I tend to experiment a lot with toners. So here is my take on Nivea Visage Oil Regulating Toner.

My Take:

Since I am oily skinned I am constantly on the lookout for oil free and oil control products. When I came across this toner, I thought of giving it a shot and this one didn’t disappoint.

 

The packaging is attractive. The bottle is mint-green in color having a white flip top cap. I’m not sure if the product is travel friendly as the cap may open up while you are on the move.

Those of you who are particular about how a product smells, will love this one due to its mild fragrance.
The consistency of this toner is like that of water. It is colorless and doesn’t dry up instantly after application. After some time skin feels supple and clean. It does give a matte effect. It also makes moisturizing easier as my moisturizer easily gets absorbed into the skin after I use this toner.

I prefer to use this toner by dabbing some amount on a cotton pad and pat it on my face after cleansing. I use it twice daily. One bottle will last for around 3 months if used twice a day. I would say this is the mildest toner I’ve used till date. Although it contains alcohol, it doesn’t sting at all. It will not give you any dry patches. This toner is perfect for winter.

Also, unlike some toners, this toner does not give the sticky feeling to your face. It will work well for those having combination and oily skin. Those of you who are new to toners can start with this one as it is mild and will not over dry your skin.

In my opinion, the only con I have noticed is that it doesn’t do anything to minimize pores though. Overall it is a decent toner which does a good job of controlling oil and cleansing the skin.

  • Doesn’t dry up skin
  • Cost effective
  • Did not break me out

CONS:

  • Doesn’t help in minimizing pores

Do I Recommend?:

Those of you who have combination and oily skin can give this one a try as it is mild and effectively helps in controlling oil. If you have oily skin/combination skin which tends to dry up during the winter then this toner will be ideal as it won’t over dry. New comers too can start with this toner.

 

Would I Repurchase?:

Well, this bottle will last me for around 3 months. After that, I’m going to try out Attitude Toner as I’ve heard positive reviews about it.

Nivea Whitening Cell Repair and UV Protect Body Lotion Review

Hello there!

I had been using Vaseline Healthy White Body Lotion for a long time. Not because I wanted fair skin, I just wanted to get rid of my old tan which was a result of a lot of outdoor activities during school and college days. The Vaseline Healthy White Body Lotion really helped in lightening my skin to some extent. At the same time I used to cover up while going out to avoid further tan.

 Then Nivea launched its Whitening Cell Repair & UV Protect Body Lotion. So I decided to give this one a try as I was bored of continuous usage of the Vaseline Body Lotion. So here is my take on Nivea Whitening Cell Repair & UV Protect Body Lotion.

Rs. 310 for 400 ml.

Ingredients:

My Take:

The lotion comes in a white coloured curvy bottle having a pump dispenser (only the 400 ml bottle has a pump dispenser, the others have the flip top cap). That was the main reason I bought the bigger bottle. I always prefer the pump dispenser packaging as it is easier to dispense the lotion without tilting the bottle.

The lotion is white in colour having a runny consistency. It spreads easily on the skin and absorbs quickly. It does not leave the skin greasy, but it’s not matte either. It has a fruity fragrance which is way better than that of Vaseline Body Lotion.

If I compare this one with that of Vaseline, the Nivea body lotion works faster in removing tan. My feet were badly tanned and this lotion has almost restored my natural fairness. You can notice the results within three weeks. Impressive! But don’t expect a ‘snow white’ type of skin lightening. I don’t want that anyway! Its only purpose is to get rid of your old tan and restore your natural skin color. And it does what it claims.

The product claims of UVA/UVB filters to protect your skin from UV rays. But it doesn’t mention any SPF. I wish it had sun protection.

I did not try this on my face since it is not mattifying and I prefer to use a separate lotion which controls oil and mattifies my face. My body skin texture is normal, so I can say that this lotion never dried up my skin. Therefore it is suitable for all skin types. I use this lotion every day after bath as it absorbs better on the skin.

PROS:

  • Reduces tan
  • Sweet fragrance
  • Absorbs easily
  • Affordable
  • The pump dispenser makes sure that no product is left in the bottle
  • Great for summer as it does not feel greasy on the skin
  • Easily available

CONS:

  • Contains paraben
  • Bottle is bulky so not ideal while travelling. It would be nice if they came up with smaller bottles having a pump dispenser.

 

Rating: 4/5

 

Do I Recommend?:

Yes! I recommend this product for all skin types. Just give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.

 

Would I Repurchase?:

Every time! Till a new one is launched.

Nivea Pearl and Beauty Anti Perspirant Roll On Review

This is getting addictive for me; reading and writing reviews. Very soon I am going to run out of products from my cupboard to write reviews about. How y’all doing? So far it has been a fantastic year for me.
Thanks to MABH, I am pursuing something that I like, writing.


Today I shall be talking about Nivea Pearl and Beauty Anti Perspirant Roll On. I have previously reviewed the Nivea Whitening Deodorant Anti Perspirant Roll On in which I had shared some gyan about deodorants and anti-perspirants. So, here, I will directly head into the review. (That toy in the picture belongs to my nephew. I put it there just to add some colour to the picture) :D

 

Price & Quantity:

Rs 165 for 50 ml.

 

Key Ingredients:

Aqua, Aluminium Chlorohydrate, PPG-15 Stearyl Ether, Steareth-21, Parfum, Hydrolyzed Pearl, Persea Gratissima Oil, Trisodium EDTA.


Usage Directions:

Apply on the underarms directly. Do not apply on clothes.

 

Shelf Life:

30 months from the date of manufacture.

 

My Experience:

Packaging: It comes in a glass bottle with a round cap and the typical roll on thingy. Travel friendly but no harm in being extra careful with the glass bottle. However, being glass it is recyclable :) bonus points there from me.

Color & Fragrance: The color is white as you can see from the swatch. The texture is a little liquidy and it takes a few seconds to completely dry out. However it does not leave behind any whitish cast and completely vanishes in a while.The fragrance is very refreshing and flowery. It is very mild and will not irritate those with sensitive noses.

 

How it works for me: I actually picked this one as I wanted a break from the other variant from Nivea. The claim that it gives beautiful under arms also got me here but I am skeptical as to what exactly beautiful underarms are. Anyway, I am happy with this roll on too.
Once again a hit with me. I liked its fresh and flowery smell though it is not as refreshing as its sister roll on, the whitening one. This one also claims 48 hour protection which I will not vouch for as I do shower at least once a day. But otherwise, it does keep oneself odour-free for a really long time.
I like that it does not claim too much and it is indeed a good product for the price, quality and quantity, but, I like my whitening one better maybe because of its refreshing citrusy smell. The quantity will last you quite a while. This one also takes a while to completely dry out.

 

PROS:

  • It is available everywhere.
  • Price is not much for the quality and quantity.
  • Long lasting fragrance which is very refreshing.
  • A little goes a long way.
  • Dermatologically tested.
  • Recyclable.
  • Small and travel friendly.

 

CONS:

  • Being a glass bottle also has its cons of possible breakage.
  • Takes a while to completely dry out.
  • Not as refreshing as the whitening roll on probably because of the lack of licorice and witch hazel extracts in it.

 

Rating: 4.9/5 (Whitening gets 5/5 you see….)

 

Do I Recommend?:

I definitely would recommend this to anyone who wants to try out newer roll ons. It is worth every penny.

 

Would I Repurchase?:

I am not sure but I may if I get bored of the Nivea whitening roll on.

Long time no see na??? I must confess that I did miss all this action. Now without much delay I shall begin the review.
Today I shall be reviewing Nivea Whitening Deodorant Anti Perspirant Roll On. Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold, deodorants and anti-perspirants are something that all of us use. Especially now that the inevitable summers are staring us all in our faces, we either use a spray or a roll on. Now, are deodorants and anti-perspirants the same or different? Let’s find out…

Price:

My Experience:

Colour, Fragrance & Texture: The color is white as you can see from the swatch below. The fragrance is very refreshing and citrusy. It is more like the good old Nivea cream in that blue tin which I like.
The texture is a little liquid-y and it takes a few seconds to completely dry out. However it does not leave behind any whitish cast and completely vanishes in a while.

My Opinion on How it Works:

I bought my first Nivea roll on last April. Before that I had bought a roll on from the brand Sure which I am speculating was Rexona earlier. I bought this one out of curiosity and it was pretty cheap too. I have always had my inhibitions about roll-ons especially about how hygienic it would be to use a roll on. But, never the less my curiosity got the better of me and I purchased it. I must say that I was pretty happy with Sure and now I wanted something better and nicer. So my search began and ended with Nivea whitening roll on.
Now all the razor work in the under arm area had left it pretty dark. So I was tempted to give its whitening claim a try. And, guess what???? It does live up to its claim to a very large extent. Though it has not made my underarms white but yes it is not embarrassingly dark anymore. It has made it fairer over a period of time with regular usage. Moreover, like I mentioned earlier it has a very pleasant and refreshing smell. Though I cannot vouch for the 48hr protection but yes it does prevent body odour too to a very great extent. Personally I do not use another spray or perfume over my clothes after using this if I am going around doing some errands around town. The quantity will last you a while too as you do not have to smother yourself with it. I use it everyday after my shower in the morning and the fragrance lasts the entire day plus no body odour issues. Here, I must also mention that I am one of those people that do not sweat heavily but, yes, I too do perspire like any other Chennaite. And, I would stress again on how refreshing it is. However, I must mention that it does take a little while to completely dry out.

I am very pleased with this product and now I am on my second bottle because right after I finished the first one I picked up Nivea pearl beauty to try it out. I will review that very soon.

  • Long lasting fragrance which is very refreshing.

Nivea Refreshing Soft Cream Review

When I was a kid my mum used to apply Nivea on her face and skin during winters. I still remember the blue colored tin packing and it used to smell soooo good. Now coming back to the product, the present Nivea cream retains all the past qualities, this proves their stability in the market. The lable on the cream says “Refreshingly Soft Cream”. Nivea Soft Cream Review

Color, Consistency & Fragrance: It is white in color; the consistency is like a thick cream. As I said earlier it retains the same strong floral fragrance. I personally like it.

How it works: Moisturizes skin and avoids dryness to a larger extent. I usually use body lotion everyday to keep my skin hydrated. We planned for a 2-day trip with family and I was not able to carry the full sized body lotion with me since it had a pump dispenser. I decided to buy a handy lotion/cream to carry along and ended up buying this one considering the quantity and the cost. This is a very buttery cream. It takes some time to sink into the skin and keeps the skin hydrated for a very long time. But I didn’t like the oily feeling once applied. It’s a big NO NO for the face if you have a normal skin. Overall it is an averagely rated cream.

PROS:

  • Very moisturizing
  • Available is smaller as well as larger quantities
  • Proven quality
  • Can be used on face too if you have a very very dry skin
  • It is a multipurpose skin cream; you can use it on your knee and foot too

CONS:

  • Takes a long time for the skin to absorb it completely
  • Feels oily
  • Strong fragrance which may not be liked by many
  • Tub packing makes it unhygienic
  • Not suitable for the face if you have a normal/combo/oily skin

Do I Recommend: 

I recommend to all those ladies who have a very dry skin

 

Would I Repurchase?: 

No. There are many other options in the market.

Nivea Glamorous Gloss Pink Sugar SPF 15 Review

I just got mad about lip balms and glosses these days! Lip balm is one of the product which I cannot live without (kajal too) The main reason for this is that I hate dry lips. If I be without lip balm for a day, my lips will start bleeding due to sensitivity, dryness and lack of nourishment. So whenever I shop, I always do look out for lip balms, especially my favorite pink or strawberry ones. Recently I reviewed VLCC Strawberry Lip Shield which I am satisfied with. Today I will be reviewing the Glamorous Gloss Pink Sugar lip gloss from Nivea. You would have guessed by now why I purchased this one! Especially for the “Pink” and “Sugar” mentioned on the name of this cute looking gloss tube. Pink is my favorite and about sugar… soo sweet!! So, picked it all of a sudden without any idea. What else is needed for a yummy, pinky lip gloss? hmm.. Okay now, can move to the review (I will stop blabbering) :p

❤ The Packaging
I will finish about describing this product short and sweet. Nivea Pink Sugar Gloss – Perfect Packaging! The product comes in tube which has a slanting tip applicator which is very easy and hygienic to use. The really glamorous pink colour of the pack with a semi transparent white cap tempts everyone to buy it! So, this product is very beautifully, compactly and hygienically packed. As the tube is semi transparent, we can easily guess how much is left in the tube. The cap is sturdy and hence it is travel friendly too. I loved the packaging of this lip gloss really very much.

❤ Colour, Consistency and Fragrance
I already said that I bought this product for the pink coloured cute tube and attractive name but unfortunately it is not pink at all :( Very very slightly pink (Refer the below pic) which doesn’t show up on the lips. It only gives a heavy shine with shining glittery particles, not at all pink and so this transparent shiny texture disappointed me a lot. If you are a person who loves shiny and transparent lip glosses, then this will be your great pick!
 It has a thick consistency which I felt a bit sticky on my lips and the product doesn’t stay longer too. For the price, even though it’s not that costly I expected a little more staying power which it doesn’t have. It barely stays for 2 hours. But the good thing is that, even you have some drink it doesn’t gets vanished off. The fragrance is very frutish and mild which I loved very much (It is really exotic as they claim) and it also spreads smoothly over your lips. The things that disappointed me are the sticky feel, no pink tint and staying power :(. Other than that, it’s a good smelling lip gloss which is decently priced.

❤ My Experience with this Product
This lip gloss basically disappointed me for the reason “No Pink tint”. I am wondering how they name it is as Pink sugar where there is nothing than shiny glitters. But when I top it up with a lipstick it looks rich and fabulous and for that reason it is worthy I feel. It stayed on my lips for 2 hours and after that I lost the glitters and moisturizing effect. So, this wont be a great pick for extremely dry lips :( Even when I drink coffee or some other drink, the gloss didn’t budge and all over it has SPF to prevent lips, so these are the good things. Overall it’s a good product which has a mild fragrance and glamorous glitters which goes with lipsticks well. It is decently priced, handy and attractively looking too. As it has a good quantity, lasts for months too. Nothing to say much good or bad about this lip gloss.

  1. Very Cute and Hygienically packed.
  2. Comes in a semi transparent tube, hence it is easy to find how much is left.
  3. The yummy and mild fruity smell doesn’t bother any noses. I love it.
  4. Rich glittery particles are present hence can be a great party wear (Only along with lipstick)
  5. The slanting tip applicator makes every application easy and thus every squeeze is in great control.
  6. Spreads smoothly over lips and doesn’t budges off with any liquid intake.
  7. For this price, the quantity is quite good and hence lasts for months.
  8. This one will be a great pick for transparent and shiny lip gloss lovers.
CONS
  1. No Pink Tint is showed on lips for the name “Pink Sugar”
  2. Stays barely for 2 hours, then the glitter and moisturizing effect disappears.
  3. Not a great moisturizing gloss for dry lips anytime.
  4. I felt this little sticky on my lips, yet not sure about how others will feel.
Recommendation: Go for it if you are expecting a glossy & glittery lip gloss to top up with lipstick as it looks fabulous and decently priced. Not for the ones who have extremely dry lips and love tinted glosses. (It’s not that good at staying power and little sticky too)

Overall Rating: 3.5/5 (Expecting the pink tint and more staying power)

Will I repurchase again?: Not sure. May be! Because I would like to try some other tinted glosses. If I don’t get this glittery much one anywhere, I will surely get this to use with my lipstick for a rich and shiny look.
