Today I will be reviewing one of the most raved about products –  Nivea Fruity Shine pink guava lip balm. This range is a hit amongst college girls and no wonder, I too fell prey for it. It has many options including strawberry, cherry, pomegranate and dragon fruit. But I fell for the look of the pink guava lip balm and so I wanted to try it right away.

My Take on Nivea Fruity Shine Pink Guava Lip Balm:

It is a twisting tube pack just like most lip balms and lip colors. The cap shuts in place and it is easy to carry around in your pocket or purse. I love the coral pink colored cap with cute little details on it which makes it all the more attractive. It is an adorable piece.

The lip balm itself is a gorgeous pink colored bullet with very fine shimmers on it. It smells good, not exactly like a pink guava but something close to it. I personally do not prefer fruity fragrances, but this one is to my liking.

The application is fuss free as you can swipe it on your lips directly from the bullet. The lip balm goes on smooth and does not bleed away. It stays for 2-3 hours and moisturizes my lips well. Even after the product fades away, it keeps my lips soft and supple. You can always reapply when you need it.

With one swipe you get a very subtle pale pink tint that won’t show up on pigmented lips. Two or three swipes and you are ready with naturally pretty pink lips that will add a glow to your face. It is a great option for everyday use especially when you prefer to have a natural makeup look. You need not seek your MLBB lip gloss or lip color. The shimmers are not loud but just perfect.

If I use it before hitting the bed, I wake up to a totally soft and pretty pout with mild pink tint. With regular usage, I notice that my lips are chap free now. It also has SPF 10 which is almost mandatory in all products these days. So that is a thumbs up!

It is the most amazing lip balm I have ever used. It is great in terms of hydrating lips, tint, pricing and packing. It is the love of my life.

Would I repurchase it?:

Duh… Yeah! I am already on my second tube.

Would I recommend it?: 

Definitely give it a try if you don’t have highly pigmented lips. It will win your heart.

Nivea Med Protection Lip Balm SPF 15 Review

We generally keep a few beauty staples that we reach out to often in our handbag. Ask any girl what such a makeup essential is and she will be quick to answer “Lip balm!” This is one small wonder that is really handy to keep our lips in good shape. Healthy lips are a reflection of a happy body. Today I will be reviewing the Nivea med protection lip balm which was the first lip balm I had ever purchased.

Claims of the Lip Balm:

The formula with the natural ingredients bisabol and wheat germ oil support the lips’ natural moisturisation process and protect them before they crack. NIVEA Lip Care Med Protection is a must-have in dry conditions.

  • Strengthens the resistance of your lips against external influences.
  • Gives long lasting moisture
  • Provides extra care and protection
  • Contains SPF 15, protection against UVA and UVB rays

Rs. 145 for 4.8 grams

My Take on Nivea Med Protection Lip Balm:

The lip balm comes in a twisting type tube that is hassle free unlike the ones that come in tubs. The packaging is nothing extraordinary.

The lip balm itself is yellowish in color in the tube but it goes on clear when applied; no color tints. Just one or two swipes across the lip are sufficient. It is a little heavy or waxy and doesn’t get absorbed easily. I can feel a waxy film sitting on top of my lips. It has a very mild peppermint like fragrance but it has nothing to do with the flavor. It has no taste as such, so no worries about licking it off like I do with my fruit flavored lip balms :P

I made a small research regarding the ingredients and came to know that bisabol is an extract from chamomile flowers. It has anti inflammatory and cell regenerative properties. Just like the lip balm is supposed to work, it heals and repairs lips in a matter of few days which is amazing. I use this product when my lips get extremely dry and chapped. I apply it before I go to bed and leave it on overnight. My lips feel better and softer when I wake up in the morning.

Our lips are really delicate and get easily damaged by the sun. This is where lip products with sun protection come to our rescue. SPF 15 in this lip balm is really cool.  It is ideal to layer under your lipstick or wear it alone if you are not into the tinted chap sticks.

Why I like this Lip Balm?:

  • Heals and softens chapped lips
  • Sun protection – SPF 15
  • Tube type chap stick which is hygienic
  • Travel friendly
  • Lasts quite long
  • Reasonable pricing

Why I don’t like this Lip Balm?:

  • Waxy and heavy on lips

Final Verdict: 

I would personally prefer this only when my lips are screaming out for help. Otherwise I am good to go with other lighter tinted lip balms.

Nivea Nourishing Body Milk for Very Dry Skin Review

Today’s review is about a skin care product from one of world’s largest skin care brand – NIVEA. Nivea is one of the internationally leading companies with more than 130 years experience in skin care. I was using Vaseline aloe fresh and was quite happy with the product. And now since summers are gone, its time for me to switch to a better moisturize.

When I was looking for a moisturizer in health and glow store, I came across this Nivea Nourishing Body milk. It’s been years I have used Nivea. Still with complete trust I went ahead and brought this one. Let’s see how it fared on my dry skin.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Paraffinum Liquidium, C13-16 Isoparaffin Alcohol Content:3.6% v/v with 1% Diethyl phthalate, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerile Stearate Citrate,  Dimethicone, Maris Sal, Glyceryl Glucoside, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis oil, Sodium Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol. Methylparaben,  Parfum.

My Take on Nivea Nourishing Body Milk:

I brought this product last month and have been using it everyday. The product comes in the usual Nivea blue colored plastic container with a sturdy cap.

The colour of this nourishing milk is white with a creamy texture. The smell is very close to age-old Nivea small blue tin dabba. I quite like the smell as it’s so refreshing .As soon as the body milk is applied, it gives a cooling sensation. The light texture of this body milk makes the skin to absorb quickly. I am happy with the moisturising past as well .My skin does not feel dry or stretchy.

The product lives to its claim except the 24+ moisture part. The body milk worked very well on my dry skin and lasts up to 10 hours (I think its fair good for any moisturizer). After that you might need to re-apply. So far I am satisfied with the product. On the whole this is one typical Nivea product you can trust.

PROS of Nivea Nourishing Body Milk:

  • Good moisturising effect.
  • Cooling sensation when applied.
  • Skin absorbs easily.
  • Doesn’t leave oily tint on skin.
  • Very refreshing fragrance.
  • 29 months shelf life is pretty good.
  • Strong bottle with sturdy cap makes it travel friendly.

CONS of Nivea Nourishing Body Milk:

  • Tongue twisting chemical names on ingredients.
  • Fragrance doesn’t stay long.
  • False claim on 24+ moisture.

So Do I Suggest this Body Lotion to You?:

I do suggest this body milk for girls looking for a light yet effective moisturizer for dry skin.


Will I Repurchase?:

I think no. During winter I will get back to body butters.

Nivea Pure Effect Total Face Cleanup Review

This particular idea of face wash, scrub and pack in one is quite fascinating, don’t you feel? Well, I thought let’s give it a try, and I did. So, today I will review Nivea Pure Effect Total Face Cleanup for you ladies.

Price and Quantity:

Rs. 99 for 50 ml; Rs. 199 for 150 ml

My Take:

I am using this product approximately for over a month now, I will now share my experience with you.  This cleanser comes in a fat tube. It has a flip cap, which is highly preferable. The smell of the product is very strong, very chemical type at the same time weird also.

The face wash or scrub or pack (don’t know, what I am supposed to call it exactly) is a thick white paste, full of tiny blue granules. I used to get confused at the beginning about how to use it. The direction says to use it as scrub first then as pack; but I don’t find it useful. So, I keep it for 3-4 minutes as pack, then I scrub and rinse. After washing my face it gives a refreshing feeling which I like about this product.

The blue granules are quite helpful as scrub material, but as a pack I don’t find it good enough. The after effect of this product is not quite amusing, it makes skin supple (like all scrubs do), and also controls oil for sometime only but other than that it does nothing for my skin (I have normal skin with T-zone oily). Though it claims, but actually does not remove spots at all.

It cleans my face pretty well; other than that I did not notice any visible effect on my skin. Overall, I can use it (until it’s over) as a scrub (though not daily) when I needed; but not as a pack because I have better face packs like Himalaya Fairness Face Pack (my Holy Grail) to treat my skin. I do not like this product because I did not see any visible effects (like oil-control, spot remover, works as a pack) on my skin as it claims.

PROS:

  • Cleans face.
  • Granules are good for scrubbing.
  • Controls oil (for some time only).
  • Fair amount.
  • Inexpensive.
  • Gives a fresh feeling.
  • Tube packaging with flip cap is good.

CONS:

  • Full of chemicals (and claims it is mild formula!).
  • Not really works as pack.
  • Does not reduce spots.
  • Does not hold the oil-control effect more than 1 or 2 hours.
  • Contains Paraben.
  • Smells weird like toothpaste.

 

Rating: 2/5

 

Do I Recommend?:

No . If you must need a scrub, there are lot better scrubs available.

 

Would I repurchase?:

I don’t think so.

Nivea Fruity Shine Strawberry Lip Balm Review and Swatches

Hey there everyone!

Hope you’re doing well :) Today I’ve got a review for a lovely lip balm that I’m sure is a hot favorite for many of you – Nivea fruity shine lip balm :) I have no idea why but I didn’t try out these lip balms from Nivea until last year. Seriously someone should kill me just for that. Anyway, when I did decide to pick up one of these I went for strawberry. (That’s sort of like my trial ‘flavor’ or whatever. I always pick up berry stuff ahead of anything else)

My Take:

The lip balm comes in a twist up bullet form. I find the packaging a bit boring. The cap is colored (and quite accurately, the color of the cap is a close match to the color of the lip balm) but when you remove it, the tube is just plain white. C’mon Nivea! A bit of creativity here please!

On application, the lip balm has a red tint that has orange-sh undertones. I have the pomegranate lip balm too and that is a deeper red (you can see the comparison swatch). Strawberry is lighter. But the color still translates beautifully onto the lips. It doesn’t offer full coverage, but that’s not what it’s meant to do anyway. Instead, it leaves a lovely healthy red tint and a ‘watery’ balm like shine that will suit almost all skin tones.  Okay, by watery I mean, like consistency wise. You know how in lip glosses you can sort of make out that the gloss is thick – from the shine? I think the lip swatches will explain what I mean better :)

The lip balm bullet has very fine shimmer which is very prominent in the swatches on my hand but it hardly shows up on the lips, as can be seen in the lip swatch.

I know the swatch on my hands has come out quite sheer, but the color shows up beautifully on my lips, unlike TBS lip balm which I reviewed earlier.

You’ll have to reapply this every 2-3 hours because the staying power isn’t great. Pigmented lips (like mine) require multiple swipes for the color to show. But don’t overdo it because it tends to get slightly runny if the weather is too hot.

On My Lips

PROS:

  • Decently priced
  • Has SPF 10
  • Colour payoff is reasonable especially for pigmented lips
  • Leaves a reddish tint after fading
  • Gives a more natural shine to the lips, not a thick shine like glosses
  • Quantity is satisfactory given the price (this lasted me about 6 months – I used it almost daily, more than once a day)

CONS:

  • Staying power could have been a bit better
  • Packaging is slightly flimsy
  • Can bleed slightly
  • MABH Rating: 4.5/5 (-0.5 for the staying power and the packaging)

Final word: If you have pigmented lips and need a lip balm that gives your lips a sheer wash of red, this balm is for you. Not just strawberry, I believe all the variants are worth a try. I loved this so much; I’ve almost finished it up (as you can see from the photos, hahaha!) Also, I’m almost halfway through Pomegranate right now and I really like it :)

I wanted to try Pink Guava; that shade of pink is to die for! But I’m not sure if it’ll show up on my lips :( To anyone who has that – do you think I should buy it? That’s it for this review. Hope you guys liked it! :)

Nivea Fruity Shine Pomegranate Lip Balm Review

I love lip balms and hoard them like crazy. This one was my purchase from a neighborhood shop when I was in a hurry and I just picked it up and ran. These balms are pretty much inexpensive, so I like it.

Price and Quantity:

My Take:

The packaging of the product is simple – a blister package revealing a red tube which is quite easy to find and a long cap making it difficult to open up involuntarily at any time. Good for the times when you are going on a long trip or something.

The lip balm bullet is dark red in color, but applies sheer red on your lips with very tiny shimmers on it. The texture is not very smooth or very drying, just right to make my lips look shimmery and pretty without going over the top. It has a nice, light, berry smell, which is nice, and does not taste of anything. On my lips the shimmers does not show much, but they do tend to settle on my lip lines.

Unlike most other Nivea lip balms, this one does not keep my lips hydrated for long. In fact, the effect starts wearing out after 1-1.5 hours on my lips, and my lips feel dry slightly, and I need to reapply. Although the stain itself is flattering, I don’t like the way the shimmers stick to my lips later.

 

PROS:

  • Travel friendly
  • Nice transparent color with a hint of red
  • Applies nicely
  • Smells good

CONS:

  • Staying power is low
  • Shimmers sticking to my lips

 

Rating: 3.5/5


Final Verdict:

So I don’t use this as often I would want to, although the concept of a tinted lip balm is appealing.
