Nivea Whitening Cell Repair and UV Protect Body Lotion Review

Hello there!

I had been using Vaseline Healthy White Body Lotion for a long time. Not because I wanted fair skin, I just wanted to get rid of my old tan which was a result of a lot of outdoor activities during school and college days. The Vaseline Healthy White Body Lotion really helped in lightening my skin to some extent. At the same time I used to cover up while going out to avoid further tan.

 Then Nivea launched its Whitening Cell Repair & UV Protect Body Lotion. So I decided to give this one a try as I was bored of continuous usage of the Vaseline Body Lotion. So here is my take on Nivea Whitening Cell Repair & UV Protect Body Lotion.

Price and Quantity: 

Rs. 101 for 75 ml.
Rs. 225 for 250 ml.
Rs. 310 for 400 ml.

 

Shelf Life: 

Best use before 30 months from mfd.

My Take:

The lotion comes in a white coloured curvy bottle having a pump dispenser (only the 400 ml bottle has a pump dispenser, the others have the flip top cap). That was the main reason I bought the bigger bottle. I always prefer the pump dispenser packaging as it is easier to dispense the lotion without tilting the bottle.

The lotion is white in colour having a runny consistency. It spreads easily on the skin and absorbs quickly. It does not leave the skin greasy, but it’s not matte either. It has a fruity fragrance which is way better than that of Vaseline Body Lotion.

If I compare this one with that of Vaseline, the Nivea body lotion works faster in removing tan. My feet were badly tanned and this lotion has almost restored my natural fairness. You can notice the results within three weeks. Impressive! But don’t expect a ‘snow white’ type of skin lightening. I don’t want that anyway! Its only purpose is to get rid of your old tan and restore your natural skin color. And it does what it claims.

The product claims of UVA/UVB filters to protect your skin from UV rays. But it doesn’t mention any SPF. I wish it had sun protection.

I did not try this on my face since it is not mattifying and I prefer to use a separate lotion which controls oil and mattifies my face. My body skin texture is normal, so I can say that this lotion never dried up my skin. Therefore it is suitable for all skin types. I use this lotion every day after bath as it absorbs better on the skin.

PROS:

  • Reduces tan
  • Sweet fragrance
  • Absorbs easily
  • Affordable
  • The pump dispenser makes sure that no product is left in the bottle
  • Great for summer as it does not feel greasy on the skin
  • Easily available

CONS:

  • Contains paraben
  • Bottle is bulky so not ideal while travelling. It would be nice if they came up with smaller bottles having a pump dispenser.

Yes! I recommend this product for all skin types. Just give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.

 

Would I Repurchase?:

Every time! Till a new one is launched.
