This is my first post for MABH and I am so excited for that. Today I am going to share an ayurvedic hair mask recipe. The other day, I was reading a survey on hair problems, where it has been described that 9/10 girls suffer from hair problems. We use so many terms like ‘hair fall’, ‘dandruff’, ‘frizz’ and etc. to describe our hair problems and the only solution and priority should be that keeping the hair healthy as much as possible. Given the list of chemicals in a hair product now-a-days, it is better to stay away from them. It says that ayurveda has cure for everything so once a week I apply this hair mask to keep my hair healthy and free from all the problems.

My Hair Spa at Home to Get Shiny Hair in a DAY : Tutorial and Before & After Pictures

The taunting (monsoon) weather shows no mercy here! In drying monsoons, I’ve struggled with tangled, dry hair no matter how well I condition it. Oil massage (with my favorite MABH formula) + hair wash routine twice a week helps a lot however, there are these oh-so-lazy days weeks when I SKIP oiling! I had been hospitalized lately and completely skipped oiling for more than a week. It has been more than week (or even 10 days?) since I oiled and washed my hair! I was in free hair and loose braids all the time.

So what it gifted me in return? Dry, rough and stupid hair! (Refer the pics) I literally cry when I get bad hair days because dryness causes split ends and breakage, resulting slow hair growth! (When your hair breaks, it takes forever to grow out!)

Though getting back to an oiling routine helps, it takes a week or two to get back that shiny lovable hair! But hey.. I found a new trick (all natural) to repair the dehydrated and damaged hair in a day! I am following it for few months now with very satisfactory results. It is the coconut-rose hair mask I make at home!! Its a spa like home treatment which costs you very less – but amazes you with great results – Naturally! I tried it yesterday as my health is getting better. So I thought I would share the process and pictures with you all! :)

P.S: If you are following MABH regularly, you might be already knowing that I am going to color my hair today! I’ll be sharing the tutorial and photos tomorrow. Hence, I thought a good home spa treatment before coloing would protect my hair. Now that I am going to color my hair, I can flaunt it with all the shine!

Do you believe in grand ma’s tip from her treasures? I tried one and I want to share it with you all today because it has worked wonders for me! She told me to prepare a hair mask using bananas and I couldn’t believe her on that still prepared the hair mask as she really wanted me to do so and it worked for me. My search for the ideal hair masque has finally ended with Satinique. So here are my thoughts on the product.

My Experience:

Since my mom is an Amway Distributor, I get a chance to buy and try out a wide range of products which Amway offers. My mom never says no to me. The moment I tell her I want to try out a particular product, she immediately orders it or buys it without any hesitation. Lucky me!

The main reason I wanted this masque was because of my dry hair. Combing my hair is a time consuming task because of the knots. Whenever I use Herbal Essences Shampoo and Conditioner, the problem would be solved. But I can’t use them daily either. So I thought maybe a hair masque can give me some relief.

The masque is packaged in a cute slim sturdy plastic bottle. The shape of the bottle makes it a travel friendly product. It has a screw cap and the nozzle has a small hole to dispense the masque. The cap fits tightly so no fear of any leakage. Take a look at the cap in the picture. The design looks like hair to me. Doesn’t it?

The masque is creamy and has a consistency like that of a conditioner. The masque is white in colour. The amount needed depends upon the length of your hair. I use this masque along with Satinique 2 in 1 shampoo for better results. This masque showed results right from day one. First I washed my hair with Satinique shampoo and then applied this masque as per the directions mentioned. I was amazed at the outcome. No dry hair at all and no knots whatsoever! And my hair remained soft, smooth and tangle free for two whole days! Stunning!

No product had succeeded so well in tackling my dry hair. Also after using this masque, it is easier to style your hair. I prefer to use this mask every Saturday and the day I have any occasion. I am not bothered about the claims of ‘strengthening hair’ at all because my main worry was my dry hair and this masque effectively helps in managing my hair. It also claims to control split ends. I do not have any, so I cannot comment upon this claim. But I’m definitely sure it will work on split ends.

The fragrance of this masque is heavenly. It lingers on for around 2 hours after bath. Love it! I don’t have any negative points to talk about this product.

The hair masque claims to contain exclusive Ceramide Infusion System, which is proven to rejuvenate, strengthen, and protect your hair. In my opinion this is the best product for damaged or chemically treated hair. Use it regularly and see the difference in your hair.

Since I dye my hair often, I was a bit worried whether my colour would fade after using this masque. But no it didn’t  I used it for a month, and my hair colour hasn’t faded yet. Thus, I can safely say that it prevents loss of hair colour.

I was a huge fan of Herbal Essences products. I guess I’ll have to change to Satinique Range (shampoo and masque) as they have worked wonderfully for my hair. Also this masque contains naturally derived wheat protein. I didn’t suffer from any side effects whatsoever from using this product.

This is my first post on MABH, and I am so excited :D Here I am going to share two easy homemade hair mask recipes made using some kitchen ingredients. For pampering our skin and hair, the things are within our home. We can use them in a particular way without spending more money. They are natural and hence there is no risk of side effects. Today, let us check the recipes of two homemade hair masks which can make your hair shiny and soft; and also strong.

 

Egg and Cucumber Hair Mask for Soft and Shiny Hair:

This hair mask is used for the recovery of damaged hair effectively.  If you swim in a chlorinated pool for exercise on a regular basis, the same damage you’ve noticed happening to your skin and bathing suit, is happening to your hair, as well. Try this treatment at home to keep chlorine damage at bay. This mask is suitable for swimmers and for those who are suffering from hair damage due to sun and pollution.

Two Homemade Hair Masks for Soft, Shiny & Strong Hair

 Things you will:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 eggshell’s worth of olive oil
  • 1 quarter of a peeled cucumber

 

Preparation and Usage:

  • Blend the egg, olive oil and peeled cucumber well in a cleaned food processor.
  • Collect this smooth mask to a small bowl. Spread evenly through your hair.
  • Leave the mixture for 10 minutes, and then thoroughly rinse with fresh water.
  • For best results year-round, continue this egg-cucumber hair treatment twice monthly. You will notice that your hair damage reduce in no time. Egg is rich in protein content and the cucumber; olive oil will moisturize and makes your hair soft and ofcourse, silky.

Hibiscus Powder Hair Mask:

We all know that hibiscus is one of the most wonderful natural hair conditioners for hair. It is a plant which gives beautiful red flowers. The leaves and flowers are just the wonders product for hair. In my school days my mom used to prepare this powder along with shikakai powder. It made my hair strong, silky and shiny. After my college days to still I am using shampoo and my hair had turned bad in texture :( And then my mom advised me to use hibiscus hair pack to get back my olden hair. I have purchased it from an Ayurvedic shop. Let me share the homemade version too. You can easily make the power at home without much strain.

How to Make?:

Get some freshly plucked hibiscus leaves and flowers. Rinse them and allow them to dry under sun until they turn crisp. Now grind the dried flowers and leaves finely and store the power in an air tight container. If you have no time/interest to make it at home, you can purchase ready made hibiscus powders from store or online. :)

 

How to Use?:

This hibiscus hair powder has a wooden smell and it is slight reddish in color. I am using it regularly on my hair (monthly twice) to find better results.

  • Take needed amount of hibiscus powder in a bowl and mix it with water.

  • Make it  a watery paste which will easy to be applied onto the hair.

  • It is the same method of applying henna on hair. Your hair should be washed and wet.
  • Apply this mixture evenly all over the hair and scalp. Leave this mixture for 20 minutes.
  • Later, wash it off by tap water. After that you can feel the smoothness and shine on the hair immediately.

This hair mask stops hair fall and makes hair strong with regular usage.
