Five women with different hair-concerns contacted me lately. I thought to answer them via this post in detail today! How long is your hair?: Somewhere in between 47 and 48 inches approx. (120 cm). I’m yet to measure it properly on my hair wash day. TGIF and I believe you are looking forward to a relaxing weekend. I am going to be solving a reader query today and I hope you will find my ideas useful! (And hey, I’ll be going to a movie this evening! I’ll share more about it on the Just Like That series)
I am so glad I found your blog. I read through your hair care routine as well. I have a inherited long curly dense hair from my maternal side and it’s a bliss I still am being able to retain it even today but the length has shortened since I am in my maternity leave.
My reason to enter the challenge is to maintain the hair volume and get my old hair length back. I observed that I have premature graying of hair from 2 years. No! I do not color my hair and use henna to cover the grays. Post which hair texture changed and got frizzy.
And often my scalp gets negligible amount of dandruff. My challenge will focus on my hair growth along with dandruff control and improvement of hair texture.
I’m attaching two pictures here. One showing the length of my hair. Other with the texture and the natural state of my hair.
Long brown wavy hair by Led Zeppelin, Hair braider by R. Kelly, Hair by the queen of uncoventionality Lady Gaga, Whip my hair by Willow Smith… all these songs besides being chartbusters share one more common feature. If you remember any song (Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Bangla, Gujarati, Assamese, Mayalee etc.) which romanticizes the beauty of one’s hair, do share with me through the “comments section”. My personal favourite is “O haseena zulfon wali jaane jahaan” which starred the flamboyant and effervescent (read: oh-so desirable) Shammi Kapoor!
More on my fixation with Shammi Kapoor later. Stop smiling!

Short, long, pixie cut, boho-chic style, layers, fringes, bangs, bob cut, you name it and there’s a style for our crowning glory. We, Indians in particular, adore and look at long hair with sheep’s eyes after all a lot of endeavor goes into maintaining long locks. So, today I am going to announce the beginning of my MABH hair growth challenge.
