Vaseline Healthy White Lightening Visible Fairness Lotion Review

Hello ladies! So I have an HG eye liner, an HG lip balm, kajal and mascara, but somehow, I have never found a moisturizer that I thought was irreplaceable. So I keep juggling between random Nivea, Avon and Vaseline moisturizers. I picked up yet another new one the other day and it is the Vaseline Healthy White Lightening Visible Fairness Lotion so that’s what I’ll be reviewing today. :)

My Take on Vaseline Healthy White Lightening Visible Fairness Lotion:

The lotion comes in a typical flat bottle packaging that most Vaseline moisturizers come in. It is a plastic bottle with a flip open cap. I don’t like the fact that the product accumulates at the mouth of the bottle, it is really messy.

It has a very light weight texture and feels quite smooth on the skin; it also blends in seamlessly and with minimal effort. The lotion has a pink tint to it and a pleasant fragrance (again characteristic of Vaseline lotions).

Now, the instant fairness claim is pretty tall and honestly I didn’t expect it to be true. So why did I buy this lotion? I don’t know if any of you girls have noticed (or maybe it’s just me who has this problem), but after applying moisturizer, my skin always looks darker. I don’t know whether it’s because my skin is hydrated and hence a bit greasy, but it definitely looks a shade darker. So that’s why the ‘instant fairness’ claim appealed to me. And in that aspect, this lotion doesn’t disappoint. My skin looks moisturized yet not darker. I think it may be because of the pink tint of the lotion.

Why I like this Body Lotion?:

  • Light texture
  • Blends very easily into the skin
  • Lightens skin very slightly on application (probably because it is tinted)
  • Reasonable price
  • Moisturizes skin, especially good for the summer months when a light moisturizer is required
  • Pleasant fragrance

Why I don’t like this Body Lotion?:

  • Does not lighten skin
  • Says it has ‘triple sunscreens’ but doesn’t mention exact sun protection
  • Will not be moisturizing enough for very dry skin or in winters
  • Product tends to accumulate at the mouth of the bottle

Final word:

If you’re looking for a product that gives you instant fairness, this is NOT it. The instant fairness claim is true only to a tiny extent because of the tint in the moisturizer, but it disappears very quickly. That said, this lotion still has many positives and it can serve as a pocket-friendly everyday moisturizer if that is what you are looking for.


Will I repurchase?: 

Yes I may, unless I find something better. However I am yet to discover my HG moisturizer! :/

Vaseline Total Moisture Aloe Fresh Body Lotion Review

Hi my friends,

How are you all doing? The weather is getting pleasant again and I totally love it. It’s a good change from the usually scorching sun :) Rain or shine, our body needs constant pampering. Of all parts, skin is exposed the most. Moisturizing is a mandatory step in skin care no matter what. I have been using this body lotion for quite a while and I thought it was the right time to review it.

My Take:

The lotion comes in a solid green plastic bottle. The flip type cap is easy to use. Though it is not a pump style dispenser, too much product does not come out of it which is great.

Aloe vera is what drew me to this product and its presence is evident from the fragrance. It is so refreshing and smells good. The fragrance stays on for an hour or two at the maximum. The lotion is white in color; the consistency is so light and spreads over the skin like dream. The product is water based and this makes absorption effortless. The skin is soft and supple after applying and I can feel my skin has had its dose of moisture for the day.

Since my skin is not very dry, this moisturizer is the perfect bet for me. It is also a good buy during the summers because of aloe vera. Dry skinned people will not be satisfied with this lotion; they will be better off with something else particularly meant for their skin type. If it had sun protection, it would have been really great. But since it is a moisturizer that does a decent job, let’s look past it.

  • Fresh fragrance
  • Light and non sticky
  • Paraben-free
  • Very affordable price

Why I don’t like?:

  • Not suitable for very dry skin. There is nothing else I could find wrong with this.

Vaseline Cocoa Glow Nourishing Body Lotion Review

We all know Vaseline from our childhood days. It’s one of the most trusted brands, right from their petroleum gel to this lotion. I remember using the gel for my wounds. Coming to this lotion, it’s my HG lotion. I have been using ever since they introduced this product and I didn’t even wanted to try another till now. Why? Scroll down.

Claims of the Body Lotion:

Vaseline Cocoa Glow 24hr Nourishing Lotion with cocoa & vitamin E melts into skin to smooth away roughness and the appearance of uneven areas, igniting skin’s natural glow at the source. Rich cocoa glow – helps to even skin texture and conditioning moisturizers leave skin smooth and supple.

How to Use?:

Use liberally all over your body for intense moisture and smooth skin.

My Take on Vaseline Cocoa Glow Nourishing Body Lotion:

The colour is light creamy rose, extremely creamy in texture. Absorbs readily and not at all greasy. I have used this day and night, summer and winter and not once I got a complaint about this product till now. Smells much like cocoa, making me want to eat myself, that’s a problem (wink).

It comes in a brown plastic bottle with a flip top cap. Be careful with the cap it breaks it flipped harshly at the connection (only once). It is extremely travel friendly since it comes in small variants as well.

A walnut sized amount comes for both legs, same for hands as well. 100 ml lasted me for 2 months with one time application on hands and legs. I even used it outside and my hands stayed tan less. Surprise! I don’t know how but it did.

I read somewhere that this worked on stretch and scar marks. I had stretch marks over my thighs due to weight fluctuations I had in between my school to college phase. That was around 5 years ago. So you can imagine how stubborn they are. But this lotion upon daily usage for day and night on problematic parts started showing results in a month. My scars are almost gone. My stretch marks became less and less bumpy and skin got even toned.

People with extreme oily skin might find it too moisturizing but I think for hands and legs, it won’t be a prob.
its a must in winters. One time application in summers game me 24 hour moisture! Everything it said it did!

Why I like this Body Lotion?:

  • Excellent smell. Not greasy at all
  • Long lasting moisture. Absorbs like a dream
  • Made my skin even toned and glowing.
  • My scars are fading!!
  • My stretch marks are smoother and now skin is even in colour
  • Need I say more?

Why I didn’t like this Body Lotion?: 

  • Parabens may be a con for few but not me; contains only one though

Nivea Nourishing Body Milk for Very Dry Skin Review

Today’s review is about a skin care product from one of world’s largest skin care brand – NIVEA. Nivea is one of the internationally leading companies with more than 130 years experience in skin care. I was using Vaseline aloe fresh and was quite happy with the product. And now since summers are gone, its time for me to switch to a better moisturize.

When I was looking for a moisturizer in health and glow store, I came across this Nivea Nourishing Body milk. It’s been years I have used Nivea. Still with complete trust I went ahead and brought this one. Let’s see how it fared on my dry skin.

Aqua, Paraffinum Liquidium, C13-16 Isoparaffin Alcohol Content:3.6% v/v with 1% Diethyl phthalate, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerile Stearate Citrate,  Dimethicone, Maris Sal, Glyceryl Glucoside, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis oil, Sodium Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol. Methylparaben,  Parfum.

Claims of the Body Lotion:

My Take on Nivea Nourishing Body Milk:

I brought this product last month and have been using it everyday. The product comes in the usual Nivea blue colored plastic container with a sturdy cap.

The colour of this nourishing milk is white with a creamy texture. The smell is very close to age-old Nivea small blue tin dabba. I quite like the smell as it’s so refreshing .As soon as the body milk is applied, it gives a cooling sensation. The light texture of this body milk makes the skin to absorb quickly. I am happy with the moisturising past as well .My skin does not feel dry or stretchy.

The product lives to its claim except the 24+ moisture part. The body milk worked very well on my dry skin and lasts up to 10 hours (I think its fair good for any moisturizer). After that you might need to re-apply. So far I am satisfied with the product. On the whole this is one typical Nivea product you can trust.

PROS of Nivea Nourishing Body Milk:

  • Good moisturising effect.
  • Cooling sensation when applied.
  • Skin absorbs easily.
  • Doesn’t leave oily tint on skin.
  • Very refreshing fragrance.
  • 29 months shelf life is pretty good.
  • Strong bottle with sturdy cap makes it travel friendly.

CONS of Nivea Nourishing Body Milk:

  • Tongue twisting chemical names on ingredients.
  • Fragrance doesn’t stay long.
  • False claim on 24+ moisture.

I do suggest this body milk for girls looking for a light yet effective moisturizer for dry skin.

First of all I would like to thank everyone for such a warm welcome and appreciating my first review – Nature’s Essence Papaya Facial Kit Review. In my today’s review I am going to introduce to you a perfect Body Lotion. I had bought this last year during winters and still using it.

Dove Products are always my favorite. I have tried all their products from shampoos till deodorants.  First of all they are pocket friendly and they suit me really well. Anyways back to the body lotion. Today I am going to talk about Dove Essential Nourishing Body Lotion.

Claims of the Body Lotion:

Its true what they say- beauty starts from the inside, That is exactly why Dove Essential  Nourishment Body Lotion has been especially formulated to work deep down . This Body lotion not only moisturizes the surface of your skin, it also delivers deep nourishment for long lasting beautifully soft and smooth skin. Dermatologically Tested.

My Take on Dove Essential Nourishment Body Lotion:

As I have already mentioned, I had bought this first bottle in last year during winters. Prior to that I was using Vaseline Cocoa Body lotion and was quiet happy with that. But I wanted to try something new, so I got this. It is a white lotion with creamy consistency. It was not at all greasy. The smell is very nice which reminds me a Dove Soap.

It comes in regular flip cap bottle. It gets absorbed in my skin easily. I generally use it twice in day, once after shower and once before heading to the bed. I found moisturizing effect very good though they have claimed 24 hours, according to my experience it stays for around 4 to 5 hours during winters.

I have even used this body lotion during summers. The effect lasts till very next day. So it became my favorite in summers as well. Since the monsoon has already arrived, it has started affecting on my skin as well. My skin has turned little bit dry. In this situation again this lotions comes to the rescue.

PROS of the Body Lotion:

  • Affordable
  • Available in Most of the stores
  • Hydrates the skin, Leaves soft and Smooth skin behind
  • Not at all greasy
  • Dry skin people can use it in Summers as well
  • Gets easily absorbed in skin without any much effort

CONS of the Body Lotion:

  • Didn’t live up to the claim of 24 hrs moisturizing effect, especially during winters.

Would I Repurchase?:

Of course, It’s my favorite and I would recommend it to all the girls who want to keep their skin happy in every season

Johnson’s Baby Lotion Review, Swatches and Photos

After sharing a post on how to use Johnson’s baby lotion in 4 different ways, now I am up with the lotion’s review. I am not a regular user of baby products but I love having few of them in my vanity case. Let us check how this Johnson’s baby lotion worked for me.

Claims of the Baby Lotion:

Clinically proven mild lotion contains emolients that help moisturize your baby’s skin. Good for baby, good for you. For external use only. Keep out of reach of children. Discontinue use if skin irritation occurs.

Price:

Rs. 42 for 50 ml


Usage Instructions:

Use daily. Apply evenly on face and body.

Key Ingredients:

Mineral oil, Glycol Stearate, Carbomer.


Shelf Life:

2 years

My Take on Johnson’s Baby Lotion:

This baby lotion comes in a simple baby pink colored plastic bottle with a sturdy flip type cap. You can also screw open the cap to get the product out. The packaging makes the lotion easy to use, travel friendly and handy.

The lotion is light pink in color (like that of strawberry ice cream) and has a moderately thin consistency. On application, it spreads smoothly onto the skin and gives that nice cooling effect. The fragrance is of course the typical Johnson’s baby one – very mild, pleasant and baby-sh.

Once I apply this lotion to my face, it calms down all the dry patches, roughness and leaves skin smooth and moisturized. As it is light, it might suit many skin types. I have a normal-oily skin and hence I don’t use it as my day cream. If used on oily skin, it leaves skin greasy after 2-3 hours.

But when I used this as my night cream, my skin left extremely smooth and baby soft in the morning. It did not cause any breakout or allergies as it’s a product meant for sensitive skin of babies. Overall, this is a very good buy for the affordable price. Though I don’t use this baby lotion everyday, I want this in my stash to feel like a baby :P I will always get it only for the heavenly fragrance.

PROS of Johnson’s Baby Lotion:

  • Inexpensive
  • Good packaging
  • Handy and travel friendly
  • Instantly cures dry patches
  • Very light, but yet moisturizing
  • Perfect moisturizer for dry skin types
  • Normal skin types will love it as a night cream
  • With regular usage, it keeps skin dryness at bay
  • Available everywhere! Really!
  • A small 50 ml bottle lasts for months
  • Can also be used as a light body lotion to smell like a baby
  • Very mild and skin
  • Can be used as a makeup remover
  • Has multiple benefits

CONS of Johnson’s Baby Lotion:

  • Not suitable for extra dry skin types in winters
  • If you are not fond of baby product fragrances, then it is not for you.
  • Contains mineral oil

Do I Recommend?:

I highly recommend this pink baby lotion to everyone who love baby product fragrances. If you are a mommy who is looking out for mild lotions for your baby, then might like it. But make sure your baby is not allergic to the fragrance as I feel Johnson’s baby fragrances are bit overpowering for the babies. If you have normal-dry skin, you will absolutely love it! If you have normal-oily skin type, then try it in winter as your night cream. Extra dry skin types will need reapplication twice-thrice a day.


Would I Repurchase?:

Yes! I will. I don’t think I will be finishing my 50 ml bottle for the next few months. But once it gets over, I will surely repurchase it. I also have the white (milk) variant but I find this pink bottle more pleasing in terms of fragrance compared to that.
