Homemade Green Grape Face Pack To Cure Uneven Skin Tone

Green grapes – Do you eat them? Do you love them? I love munching green grapes while watching television or having a lil chat with my family members. The sweet, juicy and healthy green grapes can do favors for your skin as well; especially in this summer- to cure uneven skin tone caused by sun rays.

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 seedless grapes
  • A teaspoon of honey
  • A vitamin C tablet
  • Required rose water

How to Make?:

1. Crush and powder the vitamin C tablet and keep the powder aside.

2. Wash green grapes in water and mash them to puree.

3. Mix the teaspoon of honey and rose water to the pureed green grapes and finally add the powdered vitamin C capsule to the mixture.

4. Blend the mixture well until all the ingredients mix together. The green grape has anti aging and anti tan properties and the vitamin C works in evening out the skin tone with its natural bleaching citrus ingredients.

5. You can add little more honey to this mixture if you want extra moisturization as honey is our natural moisturizing ingredient in this pack. Rose water calms and soothes the skin.

6. Once you are done with mixing, your green grape face pack is ready to use now!

How to Use?:

1. Cleanse your face with water and a mild cleanser.

2. You can take a facial steam before applying this face pack for opening up pores that leads to better penetration, but make sure steaming should be done only once in 7-10 days.

3. After steaming, smoothly apply this face pack over your facial skin evenly and relax.

4. Wait for 15-20 minutes and allow the pack to penetrate and work on your uneven skin.

5. Later, splash cold water and wash the pack off.

Biotique Bio Kelp Fresh Growth Protein Shampoo Review

Biotique is a re owned brand in India producing herbal products ranging from skincare to cosmetics. This brand was quite unknown to me until I bought this shampoo under the peer pressure of a SA at the Spencer’s Mart. I was just browsing through the shampoo range and was determined to try out a new shampoo to get a break from Dove, my regular one.


The SA there insisted I use this shampoo, I tried to avoid but she kept on saying this would be good for hair etc. Well to begin with I have a bit of an oily scalp with healthy hair. My fiancee was impressed easily by her sales techniques and I had to take this shampoo after all.

 


Price:

Rs.159 for 210 ml; Rs.99 for 120 ml

 

My Take on the Product:

Well if you are impressed by their claims I am sorry to disagree with you.

I am blessed with good hair. Hence I have been a person with normal fuss free hair, I never have tangles or dandruff at such, very less hair fall and rough hair is a concept I was unaware of till using this.

Unlike its claim of providing shine it does not fulfill it; it takes away all the natural oils and shine and leaves my hair feeling like hay. I felt like crying after my first use to see the after effects. I generally don’t use conditioner as I hardly felt the need for one but using this shampoo one will definitely need a conditioner.

It has a strong smell like those Clinic Plus Shampoos and looks like a bluish green gel . The packaging is something I have to complain about. Though it’s plastic and easy to carry and store I feel very problematic while using it with wet hands in the shower. The large opening leaves me with no choice but to keep an eye out for product wastage. I have wasted quite a lot due to the packaging.

Coming to the results, I have not seen any growth results till now and actually speaking I hate this shampoo. I don’t like it’s detergent like smell; I hate it how it takes away all moisture from hair leaving it super dry also I hate the packaging.

PROS:

  • Quite affordable with 120 ml at 99INR only
  • Ayurveda recipe
  • No animal testing
  • Dermatologically tested and preservative free
  • Easily available both online and at stores
  • It lathers well despite hard water

CONS:

  • Takes away moisture from hair leaving it feeling like Hay
  • Detergent like strong smell
  • Packaging is quite problematic to use in shower
  • Does not provide any hair growth

Do I Recommend?:

Nope, I am not going to . But if you have super oily or greasy hair you might get some benefit from it. Otherwise steer clear of this product.

 

Would I Repurchase?:

Nope , Never!!!! I am happy with Tresemme and Dove. I just am trying to avoid wastage and after this one gets over I’ll never go near the shampoo department of Biotique again.

Veet Ready To Use Wax Strips for Sensitive Skin Review

Due to my busy work schedule, I am always on the lookout for products which would save my time. So here is a review on one such product from Veet.

The box contains 8 (4 double sided) wax strips, 2 perfect finish wipes & a leaflet.

My Experience:

These wax strips are easy to use if you follow the steps properly. Please do not hurry. The pack contains 8 (4 double sided) wax strips and also 2 perfect finish wipes. I will not mention the procedure in detail as the instruction picture is given above for better understanding.

I picked up the ‘Sensitive skin’ variant as I have very sensitive skin and the other variants are comparatively more painful than that of the ‘Sensitive skin’ variant.

I like the fact that these strips are ready to use and does not need heating up. Just warm it up with your hands, peel off the strips and apply immediately on a clean and dry area which is to be waxed. It is very important to hold the area tightly when you pull out the strip to avoid pain and also remember to pull the strip opposite to the direction of your hair growth.

This product works well if you have thin and light hair. You have to keep on using the strip till it loses its grip in removing hair; then you can use a new one. If you have coarse hair (which is a result of shaving) then you will need more strips. I don’t prefer shaving as a hair removal method as the hair grows faster and it is a very short term solution. These wax strips keep my skin smooth and hair free for around a fortnight and then the hair re-grows a bit finer. These wax strips have a nice and mild fragrance.

The best option is going to the parlour as the waxing procedure is less painful and you get better services. Veet wax strips is like an emergency option just in case you are unable to go out. But if you compare the time and money spent in the parlour, using Veet wax strips is a better option.

The strips can be cut into sizes according to your preference while using them on the underarm area. But I wouldn’t recommend using them on underarms as the area is sensitive and it may bleed.

Some of you may find the entire process time consuming and messy. But once you get the hang of it, you will find it easier to use.

After waxing, you have to use the Perfect finish wipes to clean out the wax form the skin. But I am a bit disappointed with these wipes as they are too greasy and do not remove the sticky wax residue completely. A little word of caution here, after waxing, do not use any other body lotion or moisturizer as it might irritate the skin.

Overall, I am satisfied with this product and recommend it to everyone! I feel these strips work better on shorter hair (2mm-5mm long). The longer the hair, more the pain.

  • Effective even on short hair
  • Easily available
  • Available in 3 variants for normal, dry and sensitive skin
  • Nice fragrance
  • With regular use hair re-grows fewer, finer & softer
  • Pain is tolerable
  • As for me, one strip (both sides) is enough to remove hair of one leg or one hand.

CONS:

  • Wish there were more strips in the pack
  • I don’t like it when the wax sticks to my hands
  • Process might be time consuming and messy for first time users
  • The perfect finish wipes do not remove the wax residue completely
  • Does not remove hair completely from the underarm area.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Liner Velvet Beige Review

Hey beautiful girls,

Today I am going to review Maybelline Lip Liner in the shade Velvet Beige. This is my first lip liner. I just chose this one randomly, but it turned out to be a hit for me. Let us move on to the review.

 

My Take:

I wanted to get a lip liner for my farewell. So I searched for something affordable yet good. Then came this lip liner, as I like Maybelline products. I had two options, either Velvet Beige or Choco Pop. Since I have an allergy towards browns, I decided to go for this one. This lip liner is an ordinary pencil liner.

Packaging: It comes with a transparent plastic cap. These pencils have color oriented packaging, so even if you have more than one, you  will find it easy to identify. The packaging is pretty smart. Not attractive, not worse either. It is not retractable, so you need to sharp them, which leads to more product wastage.

Texture: The lip liner is creamy, but gives a matte look  and somewhat well pigmented. One swipe gives you the original color. It glides on lips very smoothly, but you definitely need to exfoliate and moisturize your lips before. Or else, it will leave your lips dry. They are not moisturizing.  But creamy and smooth enough to glide on lips without being a headache.

Color:  Now coming to the main part. Velvet Beige is an awesome nude pink shade with shimmers. Not so nude that would wash out dusky beauties The shimmers are not so obvious but gives a healthy look to lips. It make lips look more beautiful and attractive. If not exfoliated properly and moisturized it will surely accentuate fine lines and make your lips look ugly. It is a beautiful color that will suit all complexions, fair-dusky. When I swatched it on my sister who is dusky, it showed up so neutral. Me being wheatish , it showed up as a pure pink color. It definitely controls bleeding of lipsticks and yes, it makes lipstick stay longer. If used alone, it stays for 3-4 hrs, leaving a very beautiful mild pink tint on lips.
