Maybelline ClearGlow Shine Free BB Stick Fawn Review, Swatches

Today, I am going to review Maybelline BB Stick, a highly raved product after the Maybelline BB Cream. I have tried the latter before and it made my skin ghastly white and oily so never had a second thought to use it again. Once this BB stick was launched, I wasn’t that tempted to try it and I had no belief on the ‘matte’ effect to be frank. Let us check how it fared.

My Take:

The BB stick comes in a beautiful turquoise colored twist up tube, in a stick form. The tube packaging makes it very handy, user friendly and travel friendly.

This stick come in 2 shades (Read only two shades!) namely Radiance and Fawn. The shade radiance is meant for fair to medium skin tones whereas the fawn is for dusky to medium skin tones. Fawn is a medium-light shade with yellow undertones. Indian dark beauties will never find this shade good on their skin :( My skin tone is tad darker than fawn; I have a dusky-dark skin tone. Fortunately, the shade somehow blends on my skin and matches without leaving a white caste behind. The shade choices are too bad really! Only two shades for all Indian skin tones? That is not fair at all.

It has a smooth texture that glides easily onto the skin. You have to immediately blend this after applying it over your face and it blends like a dream! Seriosuly..! It is much more better than the BB cream in terms of blending. After blending, it settles into a fine matte finish. The coverage is medium.

While coming to the staying power.. It stays on my skin for about 6 hours without melting. But the 12 Hr Shine control claim.. Are you kidding? It turns my T Zone oily in 2-3 hours (Credit goes to Chennai’s Summer). And after that I need to touch up my face with a compact. I use it in a light hand as it is not the perfect shade for me and till now I haven’t experienced any side effects such as breakouts, allergies with this BB stick! (I am using it for past few ways)

Before and After Applying:

Overall, it is a tricky product I would say. If it matches your skin tone perfectly, you will LOVE it like anything! If it doesn’t, then you are going to be disappointed. Maybelline… Please introduce some more shades! Please!

  • A good daily use makeup stick for everyone!

CONS:

  • 12 hr shine free claim is totally false!
  • Dry skinned ladies will need a moisturizer beneath.
  • Only 2 shades..!!? Grrr

Do I Recommend?:

Yes! This product is so much better than the BB Cream from the same brand in terms of blending and matte finish. This one has become many girls HG makeup stick too! But keep in mind to swatch test the BB stick before buying it to know whether any one of these two shades suiting your skin tone or not.

 

Would I Repurchase?:

May be.. not sure! Whatever I put on my skin, turns my T zone greasy like hell due to this South Indian peak summer. I guess my winter skin will love it :) Currently I am using this makeup stick as my everyday eye makeup base and it works excellently. If it suits me well in winter, I might buy it again.

Vaadi Herbals Heavenly Lavender Handmade Soap Review

Today I am going to review the Lavender Soap from Vaadi herbals. It claims to be a handmade soap with essential oils.

Price and Quantity:

Rs.38 for 75g

My Take:

Packaging: This Vaadi Herbals soap comes in a beautiful lavender colored outer carton. The soap is packed in double layered thin plastic sheets (may be to prevent smell fading off? Hmm no idea!). It is a bar shaped gel based soap which is soft lavender in color. More than anything else, I loved the very relaxing lavender fragrance of this soap. For the price, this kind of relaxing original lavender fragrance is a steal!

This soap lathers well and washes off quickly. It removes dirt and traces of sweat very well, leaving the skin squeaky clean and smooth. It doesn’t moisturize my skin but it doesn’t dry it out either. As this is summer, I don’t mind using this soap for daily bath. (Instead of my regular shower gel) After I bath or have a shower with this soap, my bathroom smells good with the lavender smell :P

I am sure that this soap will relax your senses at the end of your stressed day; that’s why I always use it at nights before going to sleep. One soap bar comes 15-20 days for me. Make sure to store this soap in a cool, dry place to avoid excessive melting.

Overall, I am highly satisfied with this soap mainly for its fragrance and for the very affordable price of Rs.38. If you are a lover of lavender fragrances, do not miss this soap. It is a great buy from Vaadi herbals!

Yes of course! Before that, I am going to try out their other soaps very quickly.

Colorbar Cocktail Brights Nail Lacquer Lime Margarita Review

Hey people!

Summer is here and its time for the brightest of the colours to paint our nails. Colorbar is one such a brand which always tries its best to know the girls’ pulse and released the new nail color range termed Cocktail Brights which includes all the bright and neon colours.

Here I am going to share my new love from their range named “Lime Margarita”. Whoa, the name sounds so cool and makes me thirsty :D (Okay, let’s not get there now :P)



Price and Quantity:

Rs.150 for 9ml

My Experience:

The nail paint comes in a square glass bottle with a screw cap in silver colour. The brush is fluffy enough to cover the nail in two strokes. The applicator brush is transparent with the bristles in black colour.

Colorbar has always been awesome with the quality of the product let it be lipsticks or nail paints. They have a standard and I can bet that they can never let you down with the quality of their products.

This particular shade is neon green. It is a very bright colour which is very glossy and light. The texture is super light and the paint simply glides on nails. It dries quickly. Usually their nail paints need a single stroke to cover up the nail but this particular shade is pretty light so you need to put on twice to get that perfect finish. This colour would suit with the girls with medium to fair skin. It dominates the skin tone, so girls with a bit darker fingers better stay away from this nail paint (and this is my own opinion, you never know..)

The nail polish stays on for 4-5 days without any chipping. It has the typical nail polish smell but not so strong and it goes away easily with the remover in a single wipe and it didn’t turn my nails yellow.

 

PROS:

  • Fabulous bright neon shade.
  • Stays on for 4-5 days without chipping.
  • Travel friendly.
  • Doesn’t stain the nails.
  • Way too many shades to choose from.
  • Goes off easily with the remover how many ever coats you apply.
  • Affordable and easily available.

CONS:

  • I don’t have any con towards the colorbar nail lacquer but this particular shade may not suit everybody.

Maybelline Baby Lips Berry Crush Lip Balm Review and Swatches

Hello All!

Today I am going to review Maybelline Lip Balm in Berry Crush Variant. Cherry Kiss and Rose Addict variants were already reviewed on MABH. This particular shade, Berry Crush is my first lip balm from the Baby Lips Range of Maybelline.

 

Price:  Rs 150 for 4g

My Take:

This Maybelline lip balm comes in a stick form, in a twist up type lip balm tube with a mini cap. I found the packaging easy to use, handy and travel friendly. The name ‘Baby Lips’ is cutely printed on the plastic tube but unfortunately the fonts fade off very quickly.

Berry crush is a beautiful pinkish berry shade. Compared to the few other lip balms in this range, the Berry Crush lip balm is well tinted. The texture is smooth, rich and non-sticky. I feel good about a thing that this lip balm is well moisturizing and at the same time it is not sticky or waxy on the lips. I could find micro shimmers on this lip balm which is meant to add that glossy sheen to the lips however they don’t show up on my lips at all. The fragrance is of course berry-like and sweet.

After applying the lip balm, my lips feel glossy, smooth and moisturized. This berry crush variant adds a natural pink flush to the lips. But if in case you have pigmented lips, this lip balm will not help to cover it. The shade is moderately build-able. It gives a natural, almost bare pink finish with one swipe and a well tinted lips with 2-3 swipes. It stays on my lips for around 2-3 hours and then fades off without leaving much tint behind.  My lips stay moisturized for 2 more hours even after the lip balm fades away. On 

Overall, it is a good lip balm for the price! Compared to the other affordable lip balms available in Indian market today, Baby Lips work really well in terms of moisturization. Within one month of usage, I could find the difference on my lips. They are comparatively soft, smooth and repaired.

 

PROS:

  • Handy and easy to use twist up tube
  • Lovely pinkish berry shade
  • Moisturizes lips very well
  • Lips stay moisturized for 2-3 hours (In summer)
  • Even after the lip balm fades away, lips do not get dry
  • Non-sticky and non-waxy
  • Sweet berry-like fragrance
  • Contain SPF which is a good thing
  • Affordable price and easily available
  • My lips really felt soft and repaired after one month usage!

CONS:

  • The 6 hours hydration claim is false!
  • If you are expecting this lip balm to cover up your pigmentation, no it wont!

Do I Recommend?: Yes! I highly recommend this Berry Crush shade. This is my current HG day time lip balm. Every girl who loves tinted lip balms should at least own a single variant from Baby Lips. For this price, these are super moisturizing lip balms available in the market!

 

Would I Repurchase?: No! But I will definitely pick the other variants. I am currently eyeing out for the Mango Pie!
