DIY Milk Powder Cleanser (Before and After Results)

Posted on February 21, 2014July 30, 2015 by Divya Singh

Hello my angels how are you all doing? :)

I hope all of you are in the pink of your health. So today I am here again with a DIY beauty recipe which is super easy and equally beneficial. Today my post is on a cleanser made with milk powder. This cleanser comes handy in an emergency when you are running out of your regular cream cleanser. Milk powder cleanser is budget friendly and will not add harmful chemicals to your skin. Along with milk powder this cleanser uses two awesome ingredients for our skin, milk and honey. So before I move ahead with the recipe let us read about some of the benefits of the ingredients used here.

Milk powder: The healthy fats in powdered milk moisturizes dry skin and soothes the oily skin. Milk powder contains lactic acid which does not make the skin fair but can lighten the skin which has darkened due to external factors. The Alpha hydroxyl acid present in it penetrates deep into the skin and gently removes dead cells. Milk powder also hydrates the skin by increasing its water retention capacity. Powdered milk is also a storehouse of antioxidants which help to combat free radical damage. Moreover antioxidants also improve skin elasticity and boost collagen production.

Rice powder: Rice contains a high concentration of PABA (Para amino benzoic acid) which is a good sunscreen. Rice is a secret of those flawless Japanese and Korean girls. Rice contains anti inflammatory agents which control breakouts and also helps promotes skin repair. The antioxidants presents in it soothes and softens the skin thereby fighting aging and wrinkles.

Honey: Honey owing to its anti bacterial properties is a wonderful acne fighting agent. It instantly makes your skin glow. Honey is a rich source of fructose and glucose along with multivitamins and minerals. It contains natural antioxidants that have microbial properties. They help the skin to fight harmful UV rays. It keeps the skin well hydrated, fresh and supple. So let us move ahead with the recipe.

Ingredients Needed:

  • 2 tbsp of milk powder(oily skin people can use skim milk powder and dry skin people can use whole milk powder)
  • 2 tbsp of rice powder
  • 2 tbsp of honey,
  • Required amount of water
  • A clean bowl and spoon for mixing.

I have used more quantity over here in the pictures because I am making it for my mum also.

Method:

Mix powdered milk, rice powder and honey along with required amount of water to make a paste like consistency. Do not add a lot of water.

Usage:

Wet your face a little and apply this paste on your face and massage in circular motions. If you want you can leave this paste for 10 minutes and then wash it off. Here I have also attached a before and after picture for all of you to judge. This cleanser can also be used on the whole body by adding a little bit of gram flour. The rice powder present in it will also gently exfoliate your skin. I hope you all will love this cleanser and this will definitely benefit you.

Do share your experiences with us and let us know how much you liked it :)
