Today I am going to review a shampoo from the recently launched Garnier Ultra Blends range. Garnier has never disappointed me in the past so when they came out with their paraben free hair care product range I bought the lavender and royal jelly variant for me and the henna variant for my mom. I am using this for a week now (3 washes to be precise) and so far I like it very much. Please read on to know further.
This shampoo comes in a ochre yellow coloured bottle with beautiful label graphics. It has darker ochre coloured flip-top cap with an engraved leaf shape at the opening. Both the bottle and the cap are made of hard plastic and very sturdy. The packaging is cute looking as well as spillage-proof.
The shampoo is off-white in colour; though it looks whiter in the picture. The smell of this shampoo is awesomely soothing and fresh. The smell resembles of aromatic lavender essential oil. The fragrance becomes muted after washing off but stays on my hair till the next day. I like my hair to smell good so this is a huge plus point for me! This is the best lavender fragrance-d product I have used so far.
The texture of this shampoo is a little bit runnier than other Garnier shampoos. Consistency is not a matter of concern for me so no regrets from my side. It produces a rich lather. It cleanses my hair and scalp without making my hair dry. For my medium length hair two coin sized product is enough!
This shampoo reminds me of another lavender based shampoo – Lavender and Patchouli shampoo by Forest Essentials. The Garnier one smells sweeter than that and is more moisturizing.
I have wavy medium length hair. Although my scalp is oily my hair ends are frizzy and dry. I wash my hair thrice a week and follow that up with a conditioner. So I cannot tell how this shampoo will perform alone. Along with my conditioner it made my hair frizz-free and manageable. Hair fall due to breakage was noticeably less!
Apart from the fragrance another plus point of this shampoo is its ingredients list. This shampoo has a paraben free formula containing lavender oil and royal jelly. Royal jelly is a gel like substance secreted by worker bees for stimulating the growth of queen bee. This substance is very rich in amino acids (the basic building block of hair keratin), vitamin B, C, biotin and folic acid. Royal jelly is considered to be a good conditioning agent for hair. While lavender promotes blood circulation that helps in the growth of hair. The only con I found in this shampoo is that it still contains sulphates. Other than this I am really happy with this product!

My Verdict : Overall, I find this shampoo very good. This nourishes my hair and reduces frizz! It has this heavenly lavender fragrance and cleanses my scalp well. Quantity is good for the price and most importantly it is paraben free. I am quite impressed with the result and am loving the shampoo!
If you love lavender fragrance and are searching for a good budget hair-wash give this shampoo s a try; you will not be disappointed!
