Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss Overnight Mask Review

Lakme has been coming up with a number of new launches in their skin care range lately. Well, yes they have numerous launches in makeup too. But being a skin care junkie I am much more interested in the skin care launches. Last year only we saw Lakme coming up with the gloss range, the whitening range and many more. Till date I have tried both these!

Today I am here with the overnight mask from the skin gloss range of Lakme. I generally like lighter night crèmes all around the year leaving beside just 1-2 months of harsh winters. And since my previous night crème got over, thought of why not try this one? So, here follows my review on this product!

My Views

The product comes in a medium sized carton (signature Lakme packaging!) The range name and other product details are briefly described in the outer carton Even the usage are also neatly explained. Lakme, Kudos for your concern for customers!

The mask comes in small jar shaped bottle. The bottle is made of thick glass but I have an instant thought that it might suffer damage if dropped down. The jar has a thick lid which prevents product spillage. Since the jar is compact in shape it is quite travel friendly.

This mask is gel in texture. It is extremely light weight and quite easily blend-able. The gel is meant for night use but I think I would love to use it as a day crème under my sunscreen. It is so light and comfortable to wear. Skin feels extremely breathable with this crème. The gel is transparent with a touch of pearl white color. On blending it gives clean sheen with a polished look. The glossy finish makes it a perfect member in gloss range.

Now, coming to the long term effects of this crème, the gel texture imparts your face enough hydration in summers and lighter winters even. I have a dry skin even then it eliminates the need of any additional moisturiser. I apply the product regularly in night on my dry cleansed skin after using the serum from same range. In the morning you will see your face plumped up and ready to face the day. You require a very pea sized amount of this crème. So, that way it will last a bit longer. With my daily usage, the crème survived me for 2.5 months. Also, the crème is very easily available online as well as in nearby stores.

But other than the temporary sheen, the night cream-cum-mask does not impart any other benefit to my skin. Like there is no long term gloss or shine on the face. Being just 23, I cannot claim on the ageing part as neither the product claims one. So, I was literally taken aback with the effects.

I have used a number of other skin care products from Lakme and they all have worked wonderfully for me. But this one is limited to just hydration and nothing else. When you apply it underneath you can get the shiny glossy finish but after some time of wearing it is no longer visible on the face.
