L’Oreal Paris 24H Infallible Reno Liquid Foundation : Review, Usage Instructions and FOTD

Good day people!

Hope you are all in the pink of your health! Today, I’m sharing my detailed review on the newly launched L’Oreal Paris 24H Reno Liquid Foundation. This has been one of my current favorites! Hope you’d already checked my first impressions on this product and the press powder from the same range.

My Views:

The foundation comes in a sturdy glass container with a pump-type dispenser. The body is transparent and that makes it easier to know how much of the product is left inside; and the cap that comes is wine red in color! The dispenser works neatly to take out the required amount of the product. I can take as less as 1/4 pump if needed; hence no wastage. The foundation comes in 11 shades which is very impressive for a base makeup product in India! I’ve always struggled with single/few shaded foundations and concealers those never failed to look ashy on my dusky-dark skin!

Coming to the texture, the foundation is light, creamy and moderately thick. Neither thin as a lotion, nor thick as a cream but the foundation applies smoothly on the skin. The foundation is yellow based looking at the swatches but I’d have loved it more if it had more ‘yellow’ it it since my skin is very warm! This looks fine though. However, I’m getting a color corrector soon to make it look at its best! Caramel Toffee is a great match for my skin tone. It has more brown tint in it compared to the other shade I got! It would suit most of the deep south Indian skin tones since it has this slightly tan finish. However Ambre Amber 300 works good too, but it is quite pale on my skin!

Keeping in mind that it is a matte finish foundation, it needs to be worked quickly on the skin as it sets pretty fast. You can use a good quality foundation brush or your finger tips to wear the foundation; to use it with fingers, you’ll need a bit of practice. The blending part should really happen fast for an even, flawless finish!

I tried applying it both the ways and the finish was fine. It gives a smooth, velvet matte finish that looks natural on my skin! The matte is neither dry nor flat; it imparts glow to the skin. It looks like a second skin which is the best part about this foundation! Due to the finish, it can be used on all skin types adjusting the intensity of the moisturizer. I apply it over a water/gel based moisturizer and a primer. Dry skinned ladies can wear it over a rich moisturizer so that it won’t settle patchy.

The coverage of this foundation is VERY good. It gives a medium-high coverage that can be layered to full coverage with ease! I do not use a concealer while using this foundation since it does the job of the concealer to a good extent. For a bold, full coverage makeup look, one can use a concealer underneath.

Just make sure not to apply too much of the product at once to achieve the full coverage. Layering is always the best option since it gives a more natural finish. One pump is enough to cover my entire face for a natural look! For a slightly heavy coverage, I go for one more pump and it covers all my imperfections up to a great extent. My chicken pox marks barely show up in the photographs! One more thing, this foundation captures well on photos too!

The foundation stays for more than 12 hours on my skin! It gets a bit dewy if I step out in the sun (It is the hottest time of the year here in Chennai!) but otherwise, the foundation doesn’t melt or transfer. Mild touch ups in between will do the trick. I hadn’t let it stay on my face for more than 12 hours but I can say there is not even a bit of oxidization.

Usage Instructions

How do I use it? : I take one full pump of this foundation and dot it all over my face concentrating more on the around-eye and chin areas (which are my problematic places). I then blend it with my fingers tips gently, but quicky for an even coverage. I also use my foundation brush to blend this foundation. It gives a lighter finish and it works best if I need to layer the product! You can spray some toner/rose water on your face before application for easier blending. However, it goes smoothly even without that!

I also use this foundation as my tinted moisturizer mixing it with my regular moisturizer! I pump a wee bit of this foundation to my dollop of moisturizer and it gives an extremely smooth finish to my skin with a glow. Do not expect coverage using this way however it suits great for office/college wear!

Overall, I’m extremely impressed with this foundation from the new Reno Infallible range from L’Oreal Paris! This is the best foundation for my skin that I tried till date. The shade is almost a perfect match for me as well. I’ll be sharing my review on the press powder (Updated!) from this same range next. Do let me know if you want me to do any particular makeup look using this product. Stay tuned! Much love.

  1. Thanks for the review Lancy. There are many good quality oil free foundations available in the indian market, but you were right. The shade collection is very poor. Its great that at least L’oreal is making some senses. My skin is extremely oily. It shines even in hot dry Delhi weather. From your review it seems this foundation is made for people like me. Definitely going to give it a try.

  2. Hi lancy,i have used loreal true match in the shade n7 amber.Iam looking forward to buying the infallible foundation too.Do you think it is the same amber shade as the true match foundation in the infallible range?
