Today I continue fanaticism with chocolates in bath and body care and bring to you a delicious (yes, delicious) :) product from The Body Shop. Today I am going to briefly talk about the body lotion from TBS Chocomania range. I had picked up the lotion along with the shower cream of the same range, at a flat discount of 50%. It is great and is advisable to pick up TBS cult favorites during the sale season. Some of the best from TBS go on flat 50%-60% off!

Hope you all are enjoying the festivities at its best. May these joyous days last you forever! :)

Now, back to our content for the day – The Body Shop Chocomania Shower Cream. The Chocomania range of The Body Shop has now been re-introduced indefinitely. Yayyyy!! And the Shower Cream, Body Lotion, Body Butter, Body Scrub, Lip Butter, Soap (they are the prettiest delight to ever hold – all heart shaped & flecked * swoons *), and Beautifying Oil are part of the Chocomania family. It is described as a lush decadence of shea & cocoa butter & dark chocolate delights, Can you say no to that?!

I couldn’t. So at a recent TBS Sale I picked up this Shower Cream and Body Lotion (review later :) ) at flat 50% off individually (icing on the cake!). So after a consistent use for 4 months now & varying seasons & climate, I am finally ready to divulge all that I have to say.

The Body Shop Olive Shower Gel Review

I am back with another review. This time I will be reviewing a shower gel from my favourite brand ‘The Body Shop’. It is an olive shower gel, after having a good experience with the olive scrub, I thought of buying the shower gel too. Continue reading to know more.

Claims of the Body Scrub:

Packed with skin-softening oleic acid, olive oil has been used for centuries throughout the Mediterranean as a moisturizer. Legend has that athletes in ancient Greece would rub olive oil onto their bodies. So it’s only natural that our Community Trade organic olive oil should come from southern Italy where it’s grown on family farms. We pay the farmers of the Nuevo Cliento co-operative, our Community Trade partner, a fair and guaranteed price that enables them to work their land, build their future, and stay in their communities.

– Community Trade organic olive oil helps to condition skin.
– Glycerin is a water-soluble moisturizer that also enriches foam and lather.

My Take on The Body Shop Olive Shower Gel:

This is my first shower gel from The body shop. I usually find them a bit expensive, but thought of buying this one by looking at the goodness of olives. :D. The shower gel comes in a clear bottle with a flip top cap. I really like the packaging as you can see the amount of product left.

The gel is of olive green color (as expected :P) and has a nice consistency which is not too thick or runny. It spreads easily on the skin and thus only small quantity is required.

The fragrance is not very strong but mild just like olives. It doesn’t smell all that sweet, but is very refreshing. It’s the perfect smell that wakes you up early in the. But I must stay the staying power for the smell is better than others available in the market, and lasts for 1-2 hours after shower.

Now coming to its cleansing properties, it lathers pretty well and gives a nice squeaky feeling without making you feel slippery. It moisturizes the skin really well; I do not feel the need of using a moisturizer in summer after using this shower gel. So it is perfect for dry skin people too.

PROS of The Body Shop Olive Shower Gel:

  • Smells very fresh
  • Contains pure olive oil
  • Soap free
  • Suitable for dry-skin beauties too
  • Easily available.
  • Spreads easily on the skin
  • One bottle goes on for pretty long.
  • Lathers easily and pretty well

CONS of The Body Shop Olive Shower Gel:

  • A bit expensive

Would I recommend it to others?:

Definitely! Not for the price but the luxurious experience it provides.

The Body Shop Olive Body Scrub Review, Swatch and Photos

This is my first post on MABH and I am very excited. Hope you all like it. Today I will be reviewing a body scrub from The Body Shop. The body shop has many variants to choose from and I decided to pick Olive for my skin for its goodness. Continue reading to know more.

My Take:

This scrub comes in a olive green plastic tub. The packaging is not very hygienic. The scrub is of light olive green in color and has cream like texture. It spreads like butter on your skin and that ways you need very little quantity to use.

This is one scrub that I like for its mild exfoliating action. This scrub exfoliates your skin in a very gentle way. I use it under shower. I apply it all over my body and give a good massage in circular motions and then rinse it off with plain warm water, leaving my skin super soft. The kernels are not too harsh on skin but efficiently remove tan from the skin.

So you can use it 3-4 times a week without worrying too much about the skin. It may feel a bit greasy while scrubbing it on your skin, but once washed off the skin feels super awesome. In summer, I do not even feel the need of using a moisturizer afterwards.

Coming to the fragrance, the product has a strong fruity fragrance and I did not find it too appealing as I personally am not a big fan of smell of olive products but that can be overlooked as others may find it good for their senses.

PROS:

  • Kernels are not too harsh on skin
  • Leaves skin super soft
  • Removes dead skin efficiently
  • Easily available
  • Goodness of olive oil
  • Not tested on animals

The Body Shop Born Lippy Lip Balm Raspberry Review

Hey All!

If there is one brand for which I am ready to blow up tons of money and indulge myself, it’s The Body Shop. And if nothing else, ONLY because their products smell SO good! I love it when I walk into the shop and it has a lovely combination of floral and citrusy scents. I can go on and on about my love for this brand (even though I own nothing but this lip balm!) so let’s just get straight into the review :)


Price: 

Rs 205 when I bought it. Not sure if it’s still the same or if they have hiked it.


Quantity: 

8.5g (10 ml)

My Take:

The lip balm comes in a tub packaging. Though it looks decently pigmented in the tub, as you can see in the swatch, it is extremely sheer. I found this disappointing because given the price, I would have liked at least some color payoff. I haven’t given a lip swatch with this review because I’m embarrassed to share it with you all – this lip balm does absolutely nothing for my pigmented lips :(

I think it’s needless to say that the lip balm smells incredible. (You must have guessed that from my crazy introduction to this review!) It really has a lovely raspberry scent which I absolutely adore. Sometimes I just open it to smell it :P

The lip balm is quite shiny on the lips and looks a bit like a low shine semi clear lip gloss.

The biggest drawback of this lip balm is that it doesn’t moisturize! I was really upset when I first applied this and my lips (which are naturally dry and VERY prone to chapping) didn’t show any signs of moisturisation at all. I have heard that The Body Shop lip products in general do not measure up with other brands’ lip products of the same price range, and I really found this lip balm unacceptable. It’s been a year since I bought it and its lying almost as good as new.

PROS:

  • Quantity is decent given the price
  • Amazing fragrance (may be a con for some though!)
  • Has a semi-glossy finish and shine

CONS:

  • Does not hydrate dry lips at all
  • Tub packaging isn’t as convenient to use as tube packaging
  • Not much colour payoff (this is a con for me, but its subjective)
  • A bit expensive relative to other lip balms in the market

Final Word: 

The Body Shop charges a relatively high price for its Born Lippy lip balm and unfortunately fails to deliver in terms of moisturisation and pigmentation. If you would like to try this out, you are welcome to, but I would not be repurchasing this – partly because I don’t think its worthy of a repurchase and partly because I’ll never use it all up :P My apologies to The Body Shop, but this lip balm just doesn’t measure up. (However much it hurts me to say this!)

The Body Shop Atlas Mountain Rose Body Lotion Review

The Body Shop is a renowned brand worldwide providing quality products made from natural ingredients. Other than full sized products TBS also provides some gift packs and kits at various prices for different occasions. So this body lotion came along a small kit of Atlas Mountain Bath and Body Range with an Atlas Mountain Rose Shower Gel and a loofah.

These kits are great for gifting as well as trying products before purchasing the full sized ones. So as the theme is rose the packaging of this Cube Kit was pink with a pink shower loofah along with the shower gel and body lotion.

Price and Quantity:

This body lotion was priced at Rs. 325 for 60 ml

My Take:

The packaging of TBS products are always quite well and of great quality. Here the packaging is a flip cap bottle with the product name and picture pasted on the bottle itself. It is not tacky or cheap but superior quality. The price, manufacturing details as well as ingredients are mentioned on the bottle.

The product is a white looking watery liquid. It is a bit runny and one needs very little product per use so this small bottle will last sometime.

The smell is quite nice too. The smell is a floral rosy smell which stays at least 2 hours after applying and then fades. The lotion is not very heavy so those with very dry skin will not get great hydration from this one.

While I and HE (Would be Hubby) both love the smell and find it both romantic and very feminine. It is a bit artificial and strong too so those with sensitive noses so do try it before purchasing. The reason I love it is the smell stays for a long time .

PROS:

  • Natural ingredients causing no side effects and irritations
  • Light so can be applied all over the year
  • Smells very nice and the smell fragrance stays for nearly 2 hours
  • Great for gifting

CONS:

  • Price
  • Quantity seems very less
  • The Body shop is available online but some feel a lack of availability due to the lack of outlets.
  • Limited Edition

Will I suggest?:

Though both HE and I love the smell I feel it’s not something one should definitely have. You can try it at the store and then decide to buy.

 

Will I repurchase?:

No, I feel this is great till it lasts. :)
