I love writing and this blog has given me a wonderful opportunity. Now let’s move on to the product review.
Who needs body lotions in monsoons? I need. I’m always on the hunt for a good lotion that will provide extra moisturizing and seal in the benefits. Last weekend, I went to big bazaar to buy jergens body lotion. To my disappointment, big bazaar did not have it. They had the regular ones like Nivea, dove etc. The skin care section is always crowded but to my relief, one of the counters was free. I found a new small brand called Revayur in that counter and the girl there was quite good. She helped me pick up the Revayur Orange Lotion and I thought of giving it a try and rushed to the billing counter. It was by chance that I came across this lotion.

What the product claims:

RevAyur Orange Lotion – skin nourisher for all skin types -For dehydrated, dull and mature skin
types in need of brightening-non greasy 24 hours moisturizer with orange oil


Speciality of Revayur Orange Lotion:
  • Has detoxifying & deodorizing, stimulating and revitalizing effect.

  • Enriched with natural vitamin C from oranges
  • The skin will look more velvety, supple and “plumped out”.


Usage Directions:
  • Use it daily on a cleaned skin.
  • Leaves the skin feeling fresh and hydrated.

My take on the product:

Every winter I seem to struggle through the months trying to find items that will keep my body
moisturized and it seems like this was a difficult task. Fortunately RevAyur Orange Body lotion came to my rescue when I found it.

RevAyur Orange Lotion
              I thought RevAyur is an initiative by the brand Ayur. But later I came to know that it has nothing to
do with Ayur. The texture is rich and smooth and you can use this all over or just to give your hands or feet that
extra attention. By seeing the packaging and name I thought the product may contain natural ingredients but the
ingredient list is indeed very scary with many chemical names.

Pros:
  • Great for rough elbows and knees
  • The orangey fragrance which is not heady
  • Easy Availability
  • Hygienic Packaging- bottle with the pump i.e., does not spill out.
  • Suits normal & oily skin
  • Non greasy. Easily absorbed by the skin as it is light weighted
  • Small amount goes a long way
  • Deodorizing


Cons:
  • Presence of parabens and chemicals
  • Nothing miraculous or extra-ordinary about it other than moisturizing
  • No long lasting fragrance
  • Price is bit high.
  • Not suitable for winters and dry skin


Final Verdict: Definitely, worth trying! 
My Rating: I would give it 3.5/5

Will I repurchase: It depends. I don’t like to use it as my body lotion but I may use it for hands, feet
and elbows

By now you all would have heard and known about the new come Just Herbs, an ayurvedic cosmetic brand. This natural new brand is receiving a huge response among people and I was really tempted to try out their products. Aren’t you feeling good hearing the name? “Just Herbs”? Means ONLY herbs, no chemicals or harsh preservatives.

I got three products recently and this skin radiance gel which I am reviewing now is the one I tried first. This Frugel Firmskin Radiance Gel is one of the products from Summer Collection of Just Herbs. Before going into the review, let us see few lines about Just Herbs.

About Just Herbs: The Just Herbs collection does not contain strong artificial perfumes and possesses the faint fragrance and aroma of the woods. We share with you the ingredients- herbs and plant extracts that go into our products by clearly mentioning them on our labels along with the percentages used. Our packaging is recyclable and we encourage you to re-use our bottles and jars. They are many more things to say about this brand, but let us check them in future reviews. Now, let us see how this skin radiance gel works.

Product Description
Suitable for massage of oily skin this gel uses the anti-oxidant and anti-aging effects of fruit poly phenols and essential fatty acids to protect the skin from free radical damage and provide necessary nutrients to the skin to diminish the signs of aging. Regular massage with this gel helps maintain soft, supple and naturally glowing skin.
My Experience with this Product
As I said before, I was very much impressed about Just herbs and their claims. This frugel skin radiance gel comes in a tub and I loved its packaging very much, the tub looks like some which princesses in ancient times used. It has golden colored top lid which makes it look so attractive. Hence the container is made of thick plastic and is firm,  it becomes very travel friendly. The only thing that bothered me is that, I need to dip my fingers inside every time to take the gel out. This might be unhygienic so make sure to keep your hands clean before using the gel.
To say about the consistency, its neither too thick and nor too thin. It is somewhat like the jellies we eat but still little softer than them. The colour is similar to that of orange juice which makes it very pleasant to eyes. I loved the overall texture and colour. Fragrance is not that sweet, because of it’s no artificial perfume formula the fragrance was very natural. It doesn’t hurt my nose but I am not yet sure about how sensitive noses feel.  It glides onto skin smoothly and easily, so no complaints about its texture and fragrance.
The very first time I applied it on my skin, it gave a very cooling sensation calming down my skin. I guessed that this is going to leave a greasy feel behind but not at all, a perfect smooth finish it gives. Not glossy, Not matte, not dry, not moisturized, all it does is smoothed out my skin without any change. I felt very light and convenient soon as I applied this radiance gel on my summer oily skin. I used it both at the mornings and nights, my skin felt visibly firmer after a week of usage. This skin gel suits oily skins best without leaving any greasiness and it also softens and firms skin with daily usage. The gel feels a bit sticky for 2 minutes after application, but completely dries off giving a smooth finish after that.

PROS
  1. Cooling sensation with every application. This calms down damaged or burnt skin very well.
  2. I experienced no side effects like breakouts or something.
  3. Leaves skin smooth and oil free. It gives a natural look, neither shiny nor matte.
  4. Perfect moisturizer for extremely oily skin. Do not get disappointed with the stickiness, it disappears in seconds.
  5. Firms and softens skin with regular usage. 
  6. I felt soft glow on my skin after regular usage.
  7. A very small quantity is enough for whole face, hence the quantity is good. Can’t blame the price.
  8. Contains natural fruit extracts, yes! I felt the fruity smell.
  9. Sturdy and travel friendly packaging.
  10. Just herbs products are free from artificial perfumes, chemicals and preservatives.
  11. 100% Vegan and non tested on animals.
  12. Anti aging claim may be true because it firms skin. Great pick for 30+ people if you have oily skin.
CONS 

  1. Availability
  2. Not suitable for dry skin types
  3. Tub packaging

Nothing else I can mention as a con. Of course, this radiance gel is not meant for dry skins but that cant be taken as a con because this product is specially formulated for oily skin and no such dry skin claims. You can try the other variants from this range, dry skins!
My Recommendation: I highly recommend this to extremely oily and oily skin types. Normals can pick this in summers and not for dry skins, try other variants from this range. Makes skin soft, firm and glow with regular use.

Will I Repurchase?: Of course. This product is going to my HG list on summers! It cools down skin like anything, softens and firms.

Hello beauties! Winter is almost gone but still dry skinned people are born to moisturize their skin now and then in all the seasons. Who doesn’t like soft and moisturized skin? If you skip your moisturizer, all you get is lifeless, dull and unattractive skin. Dry, normal, oil, sensitive or any skin typed you’re, moisturization is an important step in daily skin care routine. Today, I am reviewing  a product which claims to work on normal to dry skins and let us see how it works. The name itself is attractive, “Skin food” so I was super excited to use this product even I don’t have that much dry skin. This is a product from Iraya, an ayurvedic brand. Let us move on to the product description and review now.

My Experience with this Product
I love anything natural on my skin. That too Almonds? They are my favorite skin nuts. Whenever my skin feel lifeless or tanned I just smash some almonds with milk and cover it up. An instant skin nourishing mask is done. When I came to know about this skin food, I was super excited because of the almond content. The product comes in tub packaging, which is not so preferable for me but still it is okay because a vacuum lid is inside to prevent spillage. The tub is transparent, firm and travel friendly.

   A very thick, creamy rich consistency it has, as same as cow butter. The cream has a slight peachy tint, just very slight and smells good too, even bearable for sensitive noses. Due to the thick consistency of the cream, it takes little more time to get completely absorbed by the skin. The product claims to work on normal and dry skin and so I felt this a little heavy on my normal skin. I guess it is one of the best winter pick for normal skins. Oily skins never go for it because your skin will end up in looking greasy. Do you have dry skin? Then this one is best for you anytime.

This cream doesn’t make skin look much greasy, but actually my skin felt greasy a bit after application. Even though it feels heavy on my normal to oily skin, I used this as a night cream to notice the results. After two weeks of usage, my skin is noticeably soft and firmer than before. It also helped reducing some fine lines under my eyes. So, overall it is a great smooth moisturizer for dry skin types as per the claim. Aloe and sandalwood ingredients are more plus. It may be pricey for few, but worthy for the results. 40+ women will love it however even young ones can try it.
PROS
  1. Smooth, creamy and thick consistency which is easily spreadable. 
  2. Smells good. Some herbal + nutty mix it is. Even sensitive noses wont hate it. 
  3. Contains natural ingredients like Sandalwood, Aloe and Sesame.
  4. Really it acts as a great skin food for dry skins! Heals and nourishes well. Worthy try!
  5. Winter pick for normal skin types. Nourishes skin well.
  6. Softens and firms skin with regular use. Difference in fine lines is visible.
  7. Can be used as a night cream too with slight massaging.
  8. A great natural anti aging product for 40+ beauties. It actually nourishes well. 
  9. No side effects and I have experienced no breakouts too.
  10. Pack is firm and travel friendly.
CONS
  1. Not for oily skin. Do you think this as a con? Of course not because they doesn’t claim (I am just mentioning)
  2. Normal skins may feel it greasy on summers.
  3. Tub packaging is not hygienic. I would love to get it in tube. 
  4. Might be little pricey for a moisturizer. But it is worthy as well.
Overall Rating: 4/5
My Recommendation: This is a must try skin food for dry skin types. It nourishes and moisturizers well however dry your skin is. The staying power is great too. Normals, get one in winters and a big no-no for oily skinned girls.
Will I Repurchase?: Of course yes! because it improves my skin softness and texture. Waiting for next winter!

Heya girls and girls! Good Morning. Now I will be reviewing a Sandalwood and Turmeric moisturizer from Vedic Line brand. First, let us know more about Vedic Line as this is my first product from them. As per their site, they say “Vedic Line provides innovative & effective daily care products for Face, Hair & Body. All speciality lines are designed for in-salon treatments & on-going treatments at home to restore or maintain youthful look. Vedic Line has optimum combination of Ayurvedic wisdom & modern scientific research. It uses most advanced active & natural ingredients for the best yet safest results. One can enjoy visibly healthier skin & hair initially & significant improvement overtime.”  So being natural is always better, this moisturizer impressed me in first sight. I am using it for past 10 days and here comes my review.

My Views and Ratings
The Packaging
The 200ml pack comes in pump packaging (The one I got) and the 100ml one in flip type cap. It looks so lovely and cute, every squeeze is in control too. It is a transparent plastic bottle, very sturdy and thus it will be easy to find out how much product is left inside. Being hygienic and also travel friendly, I don’t think it will create any mess. Perfect Packaging!

Colour, Consistency & Texture
I fell in love with the colour to be frank. It looks like a smooth butterscotch ice cream filled in the bottle. The moisturizer is in milky pale yellow colour and the texture is very smooth. The moisturizer is not thick or powdery, it has the ice cream consistency, neither thick nor too runny. Perfect for a light moisturizer. I can feel the turmeric and sandalwood smell in it and so the fragrance part is quite good too. Completely bearable for even sensitive noses, moreover it’s very fresh and lovely.

How it works on Me
This sandalwood and turmeric moisturizer is for normal to dry & mature skin, though I tried it as the winter chillness doesn’t completely get vanished off. This moisturizing cream should be used very little on normal and oily skin types, or else you will feel greasy. Dry skins will love this to core, it’s a skin food for you in summers, winters and whatever the season is. This moisturizer spreads over my facial skin very smoothly and quickly, I needed just a single drop for my whole face. My skin was moisturized and fresh throughout the day, however oily skins may feel it a bit greasy. My mom tried this product and said it made her fine lines vanish a little. So overall, its a good product for normal to dry and mature skins as per the claim. I can’t reduce ratings for the greasy feel as they doesn’t claim for “Oily skins”. but girls! Cheer up. There are many more variants in this range, check out their site for more info.

  1. Yummy butterscotch colour and smooth texture. The texture is perfect for a moisturizer.
  2. A good sandalwood + turmeric fragrance which I could really feel.
  3. Very affordable as you get a huge quantity for 220 bucks. You can get it more cheaper from leading online shopping sites. A single bottle will last for ages. A great buy!
  4. Hygienic and travel friendly pump bottle packaging.
  5. Doesn’t show any side effects on my skin.
  6. Made my skin tight and soft with regular usage. 
  7. Reduces fine lines up to an extent has the ingredients have anti-aging properties.
  8. Sandalwood and Turmeric are the main ingredients. What natural you want more than these?!
  9. Great shelf life of 3 years.
  10. This is really a boon for dry and mature skins in all the seasons.
  11. Fresh and lovely fragrance.
CONS
  1. Availability is the only problem though you can easily get it from leading online shopping sites in great discounts.
My Recommendation: Dry skins would love it and stick to it! Perfect for normal skins in winter. And oily people, not for you. Try the other variants from this range.

Pollution, dirt and mistakes in daily diet routine make our skin look dull, lifeless and aged. To recover from all these skin issues, we need a good nourishing skin repair lotion. It should nourish our skin, penetrate deeper and work to clarify the skin issues. Today, I am reviewing a Facial Skin Repair Moisturizing lotion from Auravedic. We have already seen the review of Pulpy almond honey face wash from this brand and this is my second using product from them. I am so much impressed of this product at first sight for the “Skin Repair” claim. Who doesn’t like their skin to be perfect? So, I have been using this cream for past few days and now comes my review.

Claims of the Product
Auravedic’s unique blend of nourishing bio-actives assists the skin’s natural process of regeneration to help restore it’s elasticity and suppleness while smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. The lotion is easily absorbed and deeply penetrating.
Usage Instructions
Gently massage onto face & neck until completely & thoroughly absorbed. Use 2-3 times day or night.
My Views and Ratings
The Packaging
This product comes in a thick transparent plastic bottle with a press type inner lid and a silver coloured screw cap. The cap is stiff, hence this becomes travel friendly. And it would be easier for you to find how much product is left inside because of its transparency. I think you need to put a hole in the center of the inner lid in order to take the lotion out. I feel it a bit tricky and expecting some more easier packaging from Auravedic like tubes or squeeze types. Thank god it’s not a tub! Hygienic bottle it is!

Colour, Consistency and Fragrance
The lotion is milk white in colour with a normal to runny consistency and smooth texture. To say about the fragrance, really I can’t express it properly. It’s a bit floral, bit herbal and a bit medicinal too. The fragrance is not fruity or sweet but still it has a bearable natural smell. Sensitive noses may feel a bit heavy but the smell gets milder few minutes after the application.

After Applying
How it works on Me
I squeezed a bit of lotion in my palm, dotted it all over my facial skin and started to massage. The lotion got absorbed quickly without leaving much greasy feel(but oily skins may feel a bit greasier) and it also doesn’t leave any whitish caste over my facial skin. After few minutes, the greasy feel and the fragrance vanished. Then my skin felt so soft, smooth and nourished!  With regular use, it made my pores tighten and also helped in improving the texture of my skin. This is what I experienced with this facial skin repair lotion. As I don’t have any wrinkles or fine lines, I can’t say about this part but my aunt who used this felt it helps her wrinkles too. So, I guess it has anti aging properties also. Overall, I would say that it’s a great pick for dry skins, normal skins (Night usage is best) and I don’t think this will work on oily skins. The lotion doesn’t break me out and doesn’t give me any other side effects. It does what it claims because I really saw a good improvement over my skin’s texture. Worth a try!

  3. It is mentioned on the pack to use it 2-3 times a day, so I guess it’s too light and natural over facial skin.
  4. No side effects. No break outs.
  5. Comes in a economical price for the good quantity.
  6. Tightens pores and improves the softness and elasticity of the skin.
  7. Works as a great moisturizer for dry skins. 
  8. Keeps skin nourished for long hours even though the texture is so light.
  9. No animal testing :D :D
  10. A single bottle lasts really long as a tiny squeeze of lotion is enough for the whole face and neck. So, I would say it as an affordable buy.
CONS
  1. Not for oily skins as it may give a slight oily feel. I am not sure about it, you can still try this lotion in dry winters.
  2. Packaging can be little improved. (Can’t be taken a con, because it comes in a very hygienic bottle)
  3. The fragrance can even be little milder. So that sensitive noses will feel it good. 

My Recommendation: A big yes for dry skins, normal skins and matured skins. It retains the skin’s elasticity as it claims. Also acts as a great moisturizer for extremely dry skins. Not a must product for oilies, yet do try it in dry winters.


Overall Rating: 4/5 
Will I repurchase?: Sure! :) In winters and springs. A single bottle lasts really long though.
