Hello girls! :D

Today I’m reviewing another lipstick and this one is from Lakmé. It’s shade 566 from their Enrich Satins range. So let’s see how this lipstick turned out.

Price: 

Rs 225 for 4.4 g

My Take:

I don’t have anything bad to say about the packaging (lol that makes me sound like such a villain!) but I’m not raving about it either. It’s quite classy but I don’t know why it reminds me of Lakmé lipsticks my mom used to use 10 years back :/ the packaging is sturdy however so that’s good.

The shade is a rich medium brown shade with absolutely no pink undertones. I’m saying its brown, I mean it’s brown. And here start the problems.

I’m scared of pure brown lipsticks. I really am! I think brown lipstick is very tricky to carry off. I’m personally a fan of pink and mauve lipsticks, even corals. Brown plus even a tiny bit of pink undertone = MLBB shades, which I love. But I don’t know how to handle PURE browns. I think this shade definitely adds years to my face, an issue common with most pure brown lipsticks.

Coming to the fragrance – I hate it. It just smells like medicine to me, I don’t know why. It’s like the smell of bitter almonds, maybe? Whatever, it’s not pleasant. Just giving you girls a heads up. Also I’m terrible at describing fragrances. Please bear with me! :(

Another issue with this shade is that it’ll make your teeth look more yellow. This is a slightly yellow/warm based shade of brown so keep this point in mind. If you have even slightly yellow teeth I’d say think twice before buying this shade (or most brown shades, for that matter).

Texture wise, there is nothing to complain about. The lipstick does not feel sticky or heavy on my lips. It glides smoothly and does not over accentuate fine lines. It also gives full coverage, so brownie points for that too! Staying power is bout 2-3 hours.

PROS:

• Reasonably priced
• Creamy texture, lives up to its ‘satin finish’ claim
• Does not accentuate fine lines
• Does not bleed
• Gives full coverage

CONS:

• Not an easy shade to carry off, can make you look older
• Unpleasant smell
• Can transfer slightly to teeth

 

Rating: 3/5

Final word: 

The rating is low mainly because of the shade and the fragrance. I think texture wise these lipsticks are good and if you find a good shade, I’m sure you’ll have no complaints about it. They are decently priced as well.

My Recommendation:

I would NOT recommend this shade in particular though, unless you have light-colored lips in which case it may not look as brown on you as it does on me. Hope you found this review helpful :)

This is my very first Lakme product. Surprised? You see I wasn’t always into makeup and I only used to use eye liner from Elle 18 maximum for any occasion. But as I used to read reviews and tutorials now a days I wanted to start with eye makeup.

And when I stumbled on this I just took it without even noticing that it’s a lip color. I always used it for my eyes. Only when I saw once in another blog I realized it was a lip color actually.

Price and Quantity:

Rs. 50 when I got. Current collection has thicker pencils at 295 Rs. Can you believe that? Got to see some time,

 

My Take:

Packaging: It comes in a long black pencil made out of soft plastic which can be sharpened in the time of need and a plastic transparent cap. The end has a coppery bronze color on it.

Color: it is an amazing copper bronze, ideal for starters in makeup like me (I am good at it now). One swipe gives real good color without tugging and it’s extremely soft as well so one should be careful after sharpening as it can break if applied too hard.

It makes my eyes pop so well giving a bright eye with soft shimmer ideal for a hurried makeup day look. Put some nude lip gloss and you are done. With kajal on lower water line or lash line (skip the water line here) and lining your lop lash line with this alone and mascara. you have wide eyes with a hint of smoldering smokey eyes… lovely and s*xy as hell.

Texture: Like I said it’s really creamy and doesn’t have glitter but light shimmers. It can be removed easily with a normal face wash or a remover. Vaseline works best actually.

Staying power: This lip color stays for around 5 hours on my eyes and 3 hours on lips without fading. But it is a bit drying on lips so I prefer on eyes mostly.

Fragrance: None that I noticed just a faint vanilla kind of a fragrance. Not much over powering but I say it could have been better since it’s a lip color.

 

PROS:

• Excellent color
• Good pigmentation
• Staying power is good
• Light on pocket
• Looks amazing as an eye color and sometimes as a bronzer.

CONS:

• Drying on lips
• Smells really faint for a lip product
• Availability

Of course yes yes yes! For the price I love it. Hope it’s not taken down from their collection.

Today I am going to review a red hot lipstick from Lakme. It is Lakme Enrich Lip Colour in the shade Strawberry Splash. My sister gifted me this lipstick long ago but I started using it recently and that’s why I am reviewing it now! :D

Rs. 225 for 4.4 gm

 

Availability:

Almost everywhere from local stores to online sites.

My Experience:

Packaging: This product comes in typical Lakme packaging, a maroon plastic case. The name of the shade and number is written on the bottom. The packaging of the product makes it is travel friendly and user friendly but still for some reason I don’t like it.

Color: It’s a beautiful red color with a hint of pink. No matter how fair or dark your complexion is this color is going to look great on you.

Swatch:

Texture: This Lakme lipstick has a creamy texture to the extent that you don’t need to use any lip balm with this lipstick.

Pigmentation: This Lakme Enrich Lipstick in Strawberry Splash shade extremely pigmented. I have some pigmentation around my lips and just one swipe of this lipstick is enough to cover any kind of pigmentation.

Smell: The lipstick t smells strong which is quite irritating for my sensitive nose, but thanks to god that the smell does not last long.

Staying power: As this lipstick is extremely moisturizing, it stays almost 3-4 hours on my lips without any lip primer and after that it fades evenly without leaving any strain or tint. The color get transfer easily and tends to bleed; that’s a big con of this lippy :(

• Beautiful color will look good on every skin tone.
• Moisturizing.
• Staying power is pretty decent.
• Affordable.
• Easily available.
• Great pigmentation.

CONS:

• Tends to bleed, and easily transferable.
• I don’t like the smell.
• The staying power could be better.
