Himalaya Herbals Clarifying Mud Face Pack Review, Photos and Swatches

Today I am going to review a good mud face pack from Himalaya Herbals, a well known herbal brand in India. This pack is named as Himalaya Herbals Clarifying Mud Face Pack. Anything that sounds clarifies, fades, brightens attracts me a lot as I am a person who likes maintaining my skin clean and spot free. Let us check how this face pack fared for me.

Claims of the Face Pack:

Himalaya’s Clarifying Mud Pack is a unique formulation of natural ingredients that refreshes and rejuvenates facial skin by absorbing excess oil and removing impurities. It is enriched with Walnut, which removes blackheads and dead cells, Fuller’s Earth, which removes deep-seated impurities. Mineral Clay improves circulation and makes skin soft and tender.

Price and Quantity:

Rs. 60 for 50g

Usage Directions:

Cleanse face and neck. Apply Clarifying Mud Pack evenly all over face and neck, avoiding area around eyes and mouth. Let it dry for 10-15 minutes and remove with wet sponge/towel. Rinse with cool water. For best results use twice a week.

Ingredients:

  • Walnut removes dirt, blackheads and dead cells.
  • Khus-Khus cleans and tones the facial skin.
  • Mineral Clay heals, improves circulation and keeps the skin fresh and soft.
  • Fuller’s Earth has cooling and anti-inflammatory properties that removes deep-seated dirt and pollutants.

My Take on Himalaya Herbals Clarifying Mud Face Pack:

This face pack comes in a typical Himalaya Herbals face pack tube with a green flip open cap. Though the packaging looks neat, I don’t find it travel friendly. The cap is flimsy and the product might make your bag a mess!

This face pack is beige in color (similar to multani mitti) and has a smooth, creamy texture. My fragrance is very similar to that of pure multani mitti (Fullers earth) too. The smell doesn’t bother my sensitive nose much.

After application, this mud face pack gets dried quickly and gets washed out easily with water. Make sure you don’t let it sit on your face more than 15 minutes as it is a mud pack.

After using this face pack, my skin feels smooth, soft, clean and little glow-y. It strips of all the oiliness and leaves my skin matte after usage. I love the matte effect it provides, only in summers. After a long tiring day, when I use this face pack, my skin feels cool, refreshed and radiant. It also helps with removing tan up to an average extent if used immediately after sun exposure.

One more thing.. You can substitute this mud face pack for multani mitti in your homemade face packs. I tried a DIY tan removal mango face pack recipe with this one and it turned out really great. It removed tan like anything and instantly added glow to my face.

Overall, this clarifying mud face pack from Himalaya Herbals is a good product for girls with oily to combination skin types as claimed by the company. If you have extremely dry skin then you must stay away from this product. It cannot be taken as a con because the brand doesn’t claim it.

PROS of Himalaya Herbals Clarifying Mud Face Pack:

  • Texture is smooth and creamy
  • Dries off quicky
  • Washes out easily with little water
  • Removes oiliness and freshens up face instantly
  • Cleanses dirt and impurties
  • Adds mild glow to the face
  • Helps in removing tan a little
  • Regular usage improves skin texture
  • A great summer face pack for oily skin types!

CONS of Himalaya Herbals Clarifying Mud Face Pack:

  • Flimsy cap; hence not travel friendly
  • On squeezing, some liquid separates from the face pack
  • Not sure whether it will remove blackheads or not
  • Contain parabens
  • Not for dry skin types (I am just mentioning; its not a big con)

Do I Recommend?:

Yes! I do recommend this face pack to oily skinned people out there. It is mild, cleanses effectively, leaves skin smooth, matte and bright. It helps controlling sun and works well to improve skin texture with regular usage. Moreover, if you find using plain multani mitti messy, this is a ready made remedy. (No mixing with water and stuff.. ugh!)

Would I Repurchase?:

Yes I will once it gets over. I don’t think I will be repurchasing it every time but I want this pack in stock to use it instead of my powdered fullers earth. It works much better. Though I have normal-oily skin, I wont dare to use this face pack in dry winters.

P.S: If you have dry skin but still want to try this face pack, then add two drops of olive oil to it.

Himalaya Herbals Refreshing Cleansing Milk Review and Swatches

Hope you were all doing great!! Today I am going to review a Cleansing milk. Proper cleansing at regular interval is very important to all. Especially, if you are a makeup lover then you need that extra cleansing. Nowadays water proof make up stuffs are being included in everyday make up. In that case cleansing milk helps us to get clean skin. Let us find out Himalaya cleansing milk is how good in that part.

My Take:

This one is white and green colored plastic package as like any other Himalaya products. It is a cylindrical bottle wide at top and slightly narrow at bottom with flip cap. I am impressed by the sturdy package hence it will be a travel friendly.

It is a white colored lotion neither thick nor runny and spreads easily on my skin. Mild and sweet fragrance which will not be a problem for sensitive nose.

I started using cleansing milk not for removing makeup but to get rid of oiliness from my skin. My friend advised me to use cleansing milk every day which will help to remove excess oil from my skin and gives clean & fresh look. Ever since cleansing milk was included in my cosmetics shopping list. Ayur is my first cleansing milk, after using it for a year I needed a change, so I bought Himalaya cleansing milk.

It is for all skin types. It absorbs on my skin quickly. I massage softly that will help to penetrate on my skin and do the cleansing work more effectively. After 2 or 3 minutes, I wipe it off with cotton. Finally, I wash my face with plain water or sometimes with face wash because cleansing milk stickiness and smell lingers on my face.

This cleansing milk gives healthy look to my face that was completely unexpected factor. I forgot to mention I didn’t follow my friend’s advice of daily cleansing routine. I use it occasionally to remove makeup after any parties & functions and on sunny shopping days, where I grab all the pollutants on my skin. It is pretty good in removing oil and dirt. Its efficiency in removing water proof products is more than average. It could have been better on that part.

Before and After:

I have applied water proof eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, eye shadow & foundation

After cleansing there was residue of eyeliner and lipstick (I’m not sure the camera catches it or not) but other things are completely wiped off.

PROS:

  • Hypoallergenic.
  • Non-comedogenic
  • Sturdy and travel friendly package
  • Mild smell
  • It is for all skin type
  • Removes dirt, oiliness and non-water proof products effectively
  • Gives healthy look

CONS:

  • It irritates my eyes therefore removing eye makeup will be a painful job.
  • It could have been more efficient on removing water resistant products.

Do I Recommend?:

Yes, but if your makeup routine include lots of water-proof products then you have to think twice.

 

Would I Repurchase?:

Yes, it is a good cleansing milk.

Himalaya Herbals Natural Sun Protection Lip Balm Review

I love purchasing and using lip balms. I have recently bought a few lip balms out of which this is the worst. Read on to find why! :P

Price: 

Rs. 99 for 4.5 g

My Experience:

Packaging: It comes in the trademark Himalaya packaging. It has a retractable packaging, which is convenient. Somehow, I find the packaging boring and cheap looking. The bullet is a delicate baby and will break if you apply too much of pressure.

Fragrance: This has the weirdest fragrance I have ever sensed. I mean the fragrance bothers me so much. It stays on and on. I hate…Hate…HATE the fragrance. It is like Grease- Pure grease. Yucks!! I do not even want to write about the fragrance

Texture and Moisturizing power: It may seem a bit dry initially but after a few swipes, you will see that it has a smooth creamy texture but it feels waxy on the lips, which I hate. However, for dry lips, I think this lip balm will help. It has a good staying power of about 2-3 hours and it nicely moisturizes the lips.

PROS:

  • Nicely moisturizes the lips
  • Staying Power of about 2-3 hours
  • Price
  • Travel friendly

CONS:

  • Boring and cheap looking packaging
  • Fragrance (I have never sensed such a fragrance in any other lip balm ever!)
  • Waxy feeling
  • Very fragile bullet
  • Fragrance Lingers on
  • Transfers easily onto cups and all

 

Final Verdict: I do not recommend it at all and I will not repurchase this even if all the lip balms of this world are magically vanished! You will not be able to bear with the greasy fragrance it has. Just go to a shop where grease and all is found, ask them if they have pure grease and then run away from there after taking a sniff at it. Yes, that is what this lip balm smells like.

Winters have already set in and my lips have started to crack and always keep begging for moisture. Thus, I bought this Lip balm, which says Intensive moisturizing care for severely dry or chapped lips. The packaging seemed okay and the product looked promising. Let us find out whether it worked or not.

Packaging: It comes in a simple twist type tube. The packaging is simple and travel friendly; nothing bad.

Color and Fragrance: This is a colorless transparent lip balm which has a very suffocating herbal fragrance. I am sure most of you will dislike the smell. The fragrance lasts on the lips until you decide to remove it completely. Thus, this is a major turn off for me.

Staying power: Himalaya herbals Natural intensive Lip Balm stays on for 1-2 hours without any meals in between. You need to reapply it and this may be a problem for some. The lip balm is very soft and if you apply too much pressure on it while applying, it may break.

How it works: Though, it has an uncomfortable fragrance added to it; it does its job of moisturizing the lips perfectly. It provides that intensive moisture for the lips. It also healed the cracks on my lips and made them pink and healthy. It also has fewer chemicals than the other lip balms as it is herbal. I quite liked the fact that it does not leave any whitish cast behind and gives a glossy sheen to the lips.

PROS:

  • Affordable price
  • Give a glossy look to lips and thus can be applied under or over lipsticks.
  • Heals cracked lips
  • Makes lips softer
  • Survived a full meal
  • Free from petroleum, silicones, artificial colors and preservatives.
  • Contains winter cherry, almond oil, olive oil, honey, apple seed oil and other herbal ingredients and thus safe to be used.
  • The packaging makes the product travel friendly
  • Stays well for 1-2 hours and prevent lips from drying for 3-4 hours
  • Finally, its claim to provide intensive moisture and it is completely true

 

CONS:

  • Breaks easily if falls from the hand
  • Fragrance is a major turn off

Do I Recommend?:

If you do not mind the uncomfortable fragrance of this lip balm then you must try it :)

 

Would I Repurchase?:

If you have dry lips then you may want to try it. However, the quantity is huge for me and will last for quite a long time. I will get bored of it soon and thus will not repurchase because of the pungent smell.

Today’s review is on the raved Purifying Neem Face Pack from Himalaya Herbals. I have been using this face pack for ages and this is one of my ever favorite face packs. I love using neem in my skincare recipes, especially for acne curing home treatments as it clears out acne very effectively.
