I am back with another review and this time it is a mild but effective cleansing lotion. Last winter it was so chilly in my city that my skin started getting dry patches every few days. I could not scrub or use soap based face wash on them as it would worsen the condition making it drier than before. Those patches were so ugly; it was getting terrible day by day. My derma saw my skin condition and prescribed me Cetaphil cleansing lotion for sensitive skin.

My Take on Cetaphil Cleansing Lotion:

You know I don’t have any reason to say why would I or anyone else not love this cleansing lotion. It is all in one kind of face wash. It is an all season face cleansing lotion for dry and sensitive skin. I have a friend who gets mad at products having strong smell but when I gave this to her she was super happy as it does not have any smell. To add to this is the perfect consistency of the product that is neither too thick nor too runny.

As per directions I used this to wash my face twice a day and yes I did this religiously everyday, no cheating! This made my dry skin over those patches soft and the dry skin got peeled off gently without any scrubbing. I had to follow this cleansing lotion with my regular moisturizer as I could not track Cetaphil moisturizer offline or even online in India. To be more specific Cetaphil cleansing lotion gently cleans skin without irritating it or making it yell for moisture.

Before doing this review I tried it in makeup removal and voila it works and removes every speck of impurities though one needs effort to get rid of water proof makeup. As I comes in a small bottle so its travel friendly and suits my whole family . And before I forget it works on combination skin too but not if someone is looking for a complete matte look. Do I need to say more, go grab this girls, it is affordable unlike other medicated washes and is cost effective too.

What I don’t like about this Cleanser?

These are no cons for me but I have to mention these:

  • Its not a foaming cleansing lotion
  • Does not do anything to control oil

To sum up my review I would say that this is a HG face cleansing lotion for people suffering from dry, dull and sensitive skin so if you are facing such problems then you can give this a try. I keep it aside and keep coming back to this whenever my skin calls for help. Take care! bye!!

“It’s Raining men.. Halalullya!!” When I was a kid I was big fan of this number. This reminds me of monsoon season which is exotic but brings humidity. Humidity makes skin oily, less hydrated and dirt sticks to skin easily. This also makes pimples pop out easily.

Hence this season becomes very important to take care of skin specially face. Today I have a review of Ponds clear pimple face wash. The product promises to deeply clean the pores inside the skin in order to remove pimple-causing bacteria. It is a Hindustan Unilever Limited company product whose name is boon in Indian cosmetic and toilette market.

Yardley English Rose Luxurious Facial Foam Review

I am back with my second review and this time it is a luxurious facial foam from Yardley London. Till some time back I had known Yardley London only for their perfumed sprays, a beautiful actress carrying it everywhere and calling it my Yardley in the commercial that everyone of us must have seen. So when I got to see their range of facial foam I got happy as I recalled that television commercial and I wanted to buy it and flaunt it like her. Silly me!

This anti oxidant packed energizing face wash cleanses intensively to remove deep – seated impurities and oiliness. The citrus extracts of grapefruit refresh and balance the skin to make it glowing and toned. Leaving it clean, revitalized and sensuously fragrant with Yardley’s romantic English rose. My Take on Yardley English Rose Luxurious Facial Foam:

First of all girls this is my daughter’s Holy Grail face wash and let me tell you she has combination skin which gets oily in summers and dry in winters but her oily T-zone has no respite in any season. She keeps looking for face washes made for her skin type but we all know most companies make products suited for oily, normal or dry skin types.

Its so difficult for combination skinned beauties to decide whether to opt for the products formulated for dry skin or for the oily ones as they always lay in between. So what caught her attention was the tagline combination to oily skin. She was super happy to have found this.

The consistency of Yardley London is like a face cream not runny at all. It comes packed in a classy tube making extraction hygienic as well as easy and also it does not let you waste the facial foam. As per directions one needs to moisten face and squeeze a little amount onto palm and it is to be massaged gently over face and neck and then washed off and pat dry.

Trust me the quantity required is so less that in the picture where I have shown how this facial foam looks like, that amount will be enough to clean your whole face twice. It foams very little which may disappoint some of you and after washing off it does not make the skin stretchy at all. Its formulated for deep cleansing and does its job very effectively. Lazy people like me might even forget that it needs to be followed up with a moisturizer as it does not make the skin dry as I said before. And yes before I forget it smells like roses. How much we love those red flowers!

To sum up with the review one word would do justice here and that’s – excellent  because it does what its supposed to do and has no false claims too. This is a good face wash if you want that matt look on your face for 5-6 hours provided it is followed with a water based moisturizer.

Why I like this Face Wash?:

  • Cleanses really well
  • Very reasonable price
  • A little goes a long way; one tube will last 2 months or even more
  • Separate variant available for dry skinned people
  • No stretchy feeling
  • No extra effort required to wash it off.
  • No leakage and easy to carry around
  • Smells like roses
  • Easily available

Why I don’t like this Face Wash?:

  • Does not foam much
  • Don’t know if it can remove water proof make up

Fabindia Tea Tree Face Wash Review

Since time immemorial, I have been battling with acne- my most pressing skin issue since puberty. I am always on the hunt for anti acne products. Clean and clear seemed to work for a year or so and then it gave up on me. When things got worse, I had to consult a dermatologist to make peace with my skin. Now that my acne is pretty much under control, I just have to maintain my skin balance and take care of the occasional pop ups.

Fabindia is a pan Indian company that has a skin care range made organically and I love it for that. When I decided to hit the store, as usual I was looking for products to take care of my oily acne prone skin. That is when I spotted their tea tree range. Tea tree oil works well against acne. So I just had to get their face wash as a start. And boy did it work!

My Experience with Fabindia Tea Tree Face Wash:

The packaging is a standard one in all Fabindia products. It looks neat and traditional with little motifs. The tube is sort of a mint green color with a flip top. The cap is sturdy and doesn’t leak whatsoever. You can easily manage how much product you want out of the tube.

The face wash is of a gel consistency but a little runnier than that. The product has a transparent base with a light greenish tint to it. I wonder if the smell is an authentic tea tree oil fragrance as I can sense faint kerosene like smell. I don’t know if something is wrong with my nose, but that is what I feel. Nevertheless I don’t find it bothering.

The face wash lathers well and removes all dirt, grime and oil from my face. A small coin sized amount is enough to clean your face and neck. Because of this reason, one tube is sure to last for months and this makes it economical too. It takes me a few more splashes as I feel a slippery film stays behind. But after patting my face dry it doesn’t feel the same. My skin is squeaky clean but not dried out. It stays oil free and shine free for about 3-4 hours.

Now with regards to the main purpose of the product, it ‘does’ keep my pimples and acne at bay. I used to have tiny little pimple here and there, but now it is a case of the past. Looks like the tea tree extracts are working out. Another ingredient which is salicylic acid is effective in clearing pimples. You need to be regular with the usage to notice a big difference. No product can do wonders in a day or two.

Why I like this Face Wash?:

  • Makes skin squeaky clean
  • Removes oil and dirt completely
  • Doesn’t cause dry patches
  • Contains salicylic acid, tea tree and turmeric extracts
  • Controls pimples with regular use
  • Doesn’t irritate the skin
  • One tube goes a long way
  • Travel friendly

Why I don’t like this Face Wash?

  • Fragrance might not be very appealing

The face wash stands true to its claims. A great plus is the presence of natural ingredients in it. If you have combination to oily skin and you want a face wash to take care of your pimples, this one could be your best friend.

Patanjali Saundarya Face Wash Review

Patanjali is a well known herbal brand. In my hunt of sls free face wash or cleanser I came upon this one after reading few reviews on it. It started giving me nightmares though. Please read further.

Price and Quantity:

Rs. 60 for 60 gm

My Take:

This face pack comes in a boring white plastic tube with a flip top cap. It’s not at all attractive. The cap is really fit. That’s a good and a bad thing because no leaks and travel friendly but it broke my nails twice. The opening is small so no need for excess amount headaches. It fits easily in a small purse.

The fragrance is mild and citrusy. It doesn’t linger after washing so easy on sensitive noses as well.
This cleanser has the consistency of a cream and quite thick. You need good force to get it out of the tube. It is soft and creamy and spreads really well and lathers a lot. A tiny pea sized amount is enough to cover up face so the bottle lasts really long. It washes away without any slippery feel and gives a great glow to your face like you have just used a face pack.

This face wash very good in removing dirt and oil. It removes makeup easily as well and doesn’t clog pores. It kind of made my skin dry but nothing a moisturizer can’t handle. Dry skinned people may find it a lot drying. After some time though, I started sweating a lot and my face looked as if I used some spray or something. Even though sls is not good, I don’t like the sound of neutral detergents. They are used in dishwashers so I am scared at how much my skin can bear. Sensitive people please stay away from this one. I heard two of my friends who have oily skin raving a lot about this so I think you can give it a try.

  • Good herbal brand
  • Nice non lingering fragrance
  • Removes dirt and oil
  • No slippery feeling
  • Made out of so many good ingredients
  • Gives an amazing face pack glow
  • Dead cheap

 

Why I don’t like?:

  • Cap is an enemy to nails. (Arshita please take care of your beautiful nails if you are using this :) we need more nail arts from you)
  • Dries out skin a bit
  • Face sweats like hell after sometime. I don’t know how much oil it can control since I don’t have any such problems
  • Neutral detergent haunts me
  • Availability

Do I Recommend?:

Yes! Surely for people with oily skin and combination skin maybe. Give it a try.

 

Would I Repurchase?:

Nope. My nightmares with neutral detergents need to stop. I already switched to pears and I love it. My mom has oily skin too and found it okay. She is 46 so i suggested stopping it since drying skin leads to more wrinkles.

Joy Skin Fruits Purifying Face Wash Review

Today, I am going to review a face wash from Joy Naturals. I usually stick to my Clean & Clear face wash and avoid experimenting new face washes. But when I saw Joy face wash which claims pimple control and orange flavor, I am sold. Let’s move on to the review.

Rs.70 for 100ml (+20 ml)

My Take

This face wash is an orange colored upside down tube package with white flip cap. It also spill proof package.

It is a transparent gel with tiny orange scrub like particles. It is a thick face wash and smells lovely orange.
I loved the package though it is quite simple orange tube. The face wash is slightly thick but doesn’t leave slippery feeling after wash. The tiny particles which partly act as scrub. My face didn’t feel dry after face wash.

It controls oil for 2-3 hours Wow! Doesn’t it sounds great till now? But, wait!! It was good for initial days but after a week my skin was rough and dry. I applied moisturizer to restore softness. It claims pimple control but it is an absolute failure. I didn’t face any skin break out. It has no effect on blemishes too.

It is quite good to attract the consumer by certain features like promises from gorgeous brand ambassador Anushka Sharma, cute package, fragrance but failed as best cleanser. It is an average one.

Why I like?:

  • Nice package
  • Fragrance is good
  • Cleanse my skin effectively
  • Cost effective
  • Controls oil for 2-3 hrs

Why I don’t like?:

  • It doesn’t control pimples as it claims
  • It didn’t clear my blemishes
  • Made my skin dull and rough
  • No skin lightening
