How to Use? ~ Usage Directions:

Spread the BB Cream like your regular moisturizer. Apply with light circular strokes from the middle of your face outwards on perfectly cleansed skin.

My Take:

It comes in a sweet little outer cover with another identical box, which slides through it. On the box is written detailed information about the product, full list of ingredients and even how the products works and what is B.B cream. Thumbs up to Garnier for doing that!

I opened the box and found out a cute little tube, with a long nozzle and a perfect hole in it. The tube dispenses the right amount of product required for the face. Packaging is sturdy and the small tube is perfect for travel purposes.

The product has 24 SPF and vitamin C along with almond extract and minerals. Water is the first ingredient, glycerin is the third, which means that water and glycerin content is high in the product.

I asked for other shades and was surprised to find out that only one shade is available which fortunately matched my skin tone perfectly. I really do not know if dusky beauties will like it.

Well, I tried it and found out that it does not make my skin oily and provides sheer coverage. It does visibly reduce minor imperfections of the skin. It did not break me out and gets absorbed completely in just 10 seconds! It does not make me look like a ghost by leaving behind a whitish cast. I am very happy that most of the products I have tried in the last few months have turned out to be quite well. The Garnier B.B cream really gives a healthy glow to the face as claimed.

I just wish the coverage power is increased. In addition, dry skinned beauties may not find it moisturizing enough during the rough winters. However, for oily skinned girls like me, surely try it and I am sure it will not disappoint you. Fragrance added to the product is mild and pleasant and lingers on.

BB Cream? Now Comes the CC Cream!

Good evening girlies. I am here to share a very hot and fast spreading news in the cosmetic world with you all. The BB cream hype hasn’t still come to an end here in India. Several brands like Maybelline, Vedic Line and such have came up with their BB creams, that is the Blemish Balm Cream in the market recently. If you are a makeup loving or at least a skincare loving girl, you wouldn’t have missed knowing what a BB cream is! Myself being oily skinned with a dark-dusky complexion have many times worried much finding hard to use the newly launched BB creams as they (Most of them) give a dewy finish to the skin and moreover BB creams usually don’t come with different shades isn’t it? The Maybelline one came in 2-3 shades while the Vedic Line BB Cream came just in a single shade! How would a single shade suit all the skin tones. Uh?

    Within a short time again, there is a news spreading like fire that CC creams are coming in the makeup world! So what are these CC creams? I surfed in net for more than an hour now and found the term for this newbie. This CC cream has been  improved and developed in Korea.

CC Cream = Color Control Cream! 

Color Control? So what is different in these CC creams from the previously launched BB one? CC creams come with an advanced formulation including all the other benefits of the BB cream. These Colour Control Creams are expected to be oil free (Yay for me! and for many of the oily skinned girls out there), more lighter than the thick blemish balm creams and they are also expected to come up with a higher SPF for more UV protection. It is updated in some other beauty blogs that CC creams would be coming in many different shades for different skin tones to match all the skin types whereas the BB creams mostly come with a lighter tones which couldn’t be used by the darker skin types.

  Most of the BB creams are formulated with the properties of foundation, SPF, moisturizer and anti aging cream whereas these Color Control Creams are expected to come along with a PRIMER, and oil control formula (As said before) including the other properties of the BB cream mentioned above. Is it the Color Control Cream or the Color Correction Cream? There is some confusion with the name too. In addition, there are some talks on the net that CC cream would be containing Vitamin C as its main colour correcting ingredient. Interesting isn’t it?

 Anyhow, I wasn’t much impressed of BB creams when they were launched and not impressed much about this CC one too but let us wait and check. If it comes in different shades, with an oil free matte formula that will be too great for my skin type, and of course for every girl with oily-combo skin type. Agree with me?

BB creams are becoming more popular in India and spreading like anything. There are many new comes of BB creams in Indian market and the one claims to be ‘Paraben free’ is this Vedic Line Blemish Balm Cream from their Vedic Line + Range of products. Paraben free is always good in my point of view and hence my hands were itchy to get this BB cream soon after the launch. But lucky me, the brand sent me a BB cream for review and I saved my bucks from my pocket money [Umm.. Let me snack some french fries] They also sent a apricot scrub along with this for reviewing purpose and I have been using it too for past two weeks. Let me review the scrub later and here comes the Vedic Line BB cream review for you all. I have used this 4-5 times till now and observing its effects, let us check my detailed experience now.

Experience with this product:
This BB cream comes in a cute pink tube with a screw cap and a nozzle tip dispenser. The nozzle dispenses the right  amount of cream from the tube, hence no struggling and no messing up. Ah I forgot to say, this pinkie pinkie tube is compactly placed inside a outer carton, no doubt that’s pink too :) [I am a great pink lover, hence I love the simple, cute and pink packaging]

 The cream has a slight runny consistency, somewhat in between a body lotion and a cream. It spreads smoothly onto the skin and feels light. It has a hardly noticeable floral and some essential oil mixed smell, I love it. Check the swatch, before and after pics of Vedic Line BB Cream below.

Soon after the application it brightens up the facial skin and adds that natural glow.  Dry and combination skin types will love this BB cream than the oily skin types. It gives a nice dewy finish that stays for a good time. About the blemish, wrinkles, spot covering claim, this does not help much, you still need to concealer for perfect coverage. It is surely not a good pick for oily skin types, especially in summers. It makes the T-Zone oily after a hour of application but if you are still tempted to try it, welcome a matte finish compact [And carry it on your bad too for regular touch ups] Overall,  this is semi-matte semi-dewy finish BB cream for combination and dry skin types.

    It neither makes normal skin greasy nor dry but dry skin types would need a moisturizer beneath it. They have clearly mentioned to use a moisturizer if we wish, so I cannot state the moisturizing thing as a con for dry skin types. For the price and quantity, it is a good buy. A single tube will last for months.

  • Brightens up the skin instantly, feels light on skin
  • Paraben free [Its a huge relief for many girls, including me]
  • Doesn’t tends to change skin oily or clog pores
  • Hydrating enough for summer dry skin types as well
  • Combination skin types may love this
  • Doesn’t leave skin stretchy dry or patchy any time
  • Covers the skin surface evenly without appearing streaky
  • It might manage oil secretion good in winters without making the cheek parts dry in combination skin types
  • It is neither matte nor dewy but gives a in between natural finish
  • Covers up minor imperfections well
  • Conceals dark circles a bit
  • Cheap price for the quantity, a single tube would last longer really
  • Handy, hygienic and easy to use nozzle tip packaging
  • Travel friendly
  • 100% vegetarian
  • Not tested on animals
CONS
  • Not for oily skin types as it does not help with oil control
  • Sometimes, it tends to change the T-Zone oily in combination skin types too
  • Except the dry skin types, regular blotting and touch ups in necessary for other skin types
  • Does not help in covering blemishes and spots that well, it just gives a light coverage
  • Only a single shade available! It even makes my deep dusky skin look that ‘white’ not glowy, hence some shades should be introduced. This shade suits only fair-wheatish and wheatish-dusky skin tones. A big no-no for deep dusky and dark people :( [Including me]
  • The SPF 20 is not enough, still that cannot be taken as a major con for the price and other qualities

Overall Rating: 3.5/5

Recommendation: If you have pale or wheatish to dusky skin type, then give a try. Remember, your skin needs to be of combination or dry type as well. This product is not for extra oily girls in summers. I also doubt whether it would be a shade darker on extra fair skin complexions.

Would I Repurchase?:  Surely I would if they introduce some more shades because I guess this would perfectly suit my skin in winters without drying it. I can manage the oiliness with my compact because after all I get a ‘natural glow’ without parabens!
