Dove Go Fresh Beauty Bathing Bar Fresh Moisture : Review

Hey, people!

In the recent past, I hadn’t been paying much attention to my body skin! I ignored skin care and started using random shower gels/bathing bars that literally ruined my skin! I wanted to hop into the shower and leave as quickly as possible – to save the time. Only those VERY foamy, gets-washed-off-in-a-jiffy kind of cleansing products occupied my bath and body stash!

As I was settling back to my normal routine gradually, I wanted to go back to my favorite drugstore bath and body products! Dove soaps are a few of them. Ever since I was a kid, I love Dove soaps! I’d used all the variants of their bathing bar launched in India; the normal cream bathing bar, the exfoliating bar, the pink-rosa bar and this go-fresh variant is the latest one I tried! I’ve been using it for a few months now (not daily, though) and here is my review on it! (I mostly use this during day time and for my night showers, I’m using Neutrogena Rain Bath Shower Gel – will review it shortly!)

My Views

The bathing bar looks milky-pistachio green in color and it looks very pleasing. I may not have liked it if it was deeper in color but this one just has the right amount of tint. It has a faint cucumber scent! Don’t ask me if I love cucumbers. I hate the taste of cucumbers like anything! (and I still am practicing to get used to it!) I never managed to eat a piece of cucumber in my life but I don’t hate the smell. I love how refreshing the bar smells. True to its name – Go Fresh!

The bar is creamy but not creamier than the original variant; it produces a nice, smooth lather and gets rinsed off quickly! (quicker compared to the other variants!) and I also find this one melting slower than the other Dove bars. I’ve it in my soap tray and it neither melts crazily nor goes gooey, unlike the cream moisture bar. I will definitely not need something too ‘rich’ for my showers this season!

The bar leaves my skin clean and softer after the shower.  Not necessarily moisturized but definitely a lot smoother! Other soaps somehow dry out my skin – even those glycerin bars that claim to retain the moisture. Sometimes, I go to sleep without putting on a body lotion as the bar doesn’t let my skin feel any stretchy. However, I make sure to slather a good amount of a water-based body lotion if my AC is set in the coolest mode! (Mind you, this soap, though being non-drying, might still dry out your skin in winters if you don’t apply your body lotion!)

Overall, I’m loving this Fresh Moisture bar from Dove! I was skeptical when the brand first introduced it. However, I’ve started to like it for how good it smells! I would recommend this bar to everyone who loves to have a soft, fresh skin in this weather and also to people who find original Dove bar a bit too heavy for their skin, especially in summers. This bar is overall so much better than the oil clearing soaps/shower gels that strip of the moisture and glow from your skin!
