My Turmeric Skincare Regime : Turmeric Beauty Benefits

Posted on May 2, 2014July 30, 2015 by Shreoshe Gosh

Hello everyone,

Hope you all are doing well. To look beautiful, only makeup does not work, skin care also goes hand in hand to get you a beautiful glowing skin. Of course, our skin can be made to look bright and beautiful with makeup tricks but natural beauty comes from within. Turmeric is one such product which has contributed to Indian beauty since a long time. In this post I will share with you my skin care regime using turmeric. It deals with a number of skin problems naturally and is being used since a long time in India due to its anti bacterial property. Let us have a look.

turmeric skincare

1. For Acne Treatment:

I don’t face too much acne problems but when I do, I find it better to rely on natural remedies to cure it rather than going for chemical products. Turmeric has antiseptic and anti inflammatory property that helps to get rid of acne and soothe skin thus preventing redness of skin. All I do is take 2 table spoons of turmeric powder and mix it with little water. Squeeze few drops of lemon juice to this and apply on the affected areas. I keep this for 10 minutes and then wash it off with cold water.

2. Face mask to Get Rid of Excessive Oil on My Face

I have combination skin that is on the oilier side during summer. Turmeric helps to regulate sebum production from skin. For this I mix 2 table spoons of turmeric powder with 2 table spoons of dried orange peel and 3 table spoons of honey. Mix all the ingredients well and apply it to my face. Then I massage my face in circular motion and keep this on my face for 15 minutes. Then I wash it off with water. This pack brightens complexion, clears blemishes and makes skin glowing.

3. As Natural Face cleanser

This is a very economic and good cleanser. I use it for my face and let me tell you this cleanser is safe to use on every skin type. Mix equal amount of turmeric powder and gram flour with water. Apply this to your face, massage well and rinse off with water. It will leave your skin clean and germ free.

4. To Soothe Burns

Turmeric is very effective for small kitchen burns which is why it is always advised to keep turmeric in handy. To minor cuts you can apply a mixture of turmeric powder and Aloe vera gel for quick relief. Its antiseptic property is useful in curing cuts & wounds.

5. To Remove Skin Tan

To remove skin tan, I mix turmeric powder with equal amount of milk powder and make a paste in water. I apply this mixture to my hands and other exposed areas of my face. This packs really works for me and is useful in removing old tans too that do not get removed easily.

6. To Treat Dandruff

Dandruff can be cured well with turmeric and essential oil mixture. Mix turmeric powder with rosemary oil and hot coconut oil, apply this to your hair. Leave on for 10 minutes and then follow your regular shampoo-conditioner routine. It provides nutrition to hair follicles making hair stronger and better.

This was my turmeric skin care regime. Do you use turmeric for your skin too? Please share your comments below. :)

    Very informative post Shreoshe!!

I love using turmeric on my skin. But whenever I use it on my face, it gives a burning sensation. So I make sure to mix it with besan and then use. It does wonders in removing uneven tan and blemishes!! Isn’t it?
