Lakme Nine to Five Intense Volume Mascara Review and Photos

All makeup lovers would agree that a dash of mascara will open up your eyes and make you look more vibrant. After kajal, mascara is what you need to define your eyes. I too had purchased one, with the same expectations, which is the Lakme nine to five intense volume mascara. But did it do well? Or did it not? Let me tell you guys.

Product Description:

An all-day, high performance Lakme 9 to 5 Intense Volume Mascara that pumps up volume to give you dramatically long lashes.

Step 1: Gently run the brush through your lashes from the base to the tip of your upper eyelash on the underside.

Step 2: Gently brush some mascara onto your lower lashes using the same technique. Wait for the mascara to dry before applying a second coat.

Price and Quantity:

Rs. 375 for 7.5 ml (I think the price has been changed now)

My Take on Lakme Nine to Five Intense Volume Mascara:

I like the sleek black packaging. Carrying it in your purse or your makeup bag is very easy as it is a good and sturdy pack. I had accidentally dropped the wand down and the outer covering of the top broke into pieces like glass! Anyway I have the inner plastic handle intact. The mascara doesn’t dry up inside the tube.

The wand is not very thick and so the mascara coating doesn’t make my eye lashes look voluminous, no sir! My lashes kind of stuck together when the mascara dried. I tried wiggling the wand as I moved from the lash root to the tip but that didn’t help too. Okay I decide on another coat, maybe I will fix it up then. It was even worse this time around. After it all dried up, I had to use an unused spoolie brush to separate my lashes a bit to make my eyes look human.

My lashes felt like they were small sticks that would break off anytime. Somehow my eyes look ghastly with this mascara on. In the swatch, I had to take time and separate the lashes to make it view-able.

Good thing is the mascara didn’t fade even after a whole day. I had splashed water onto my face a few times too, still didn’t budge. That came as a disadvantage at the end of the day when I wanted to remove my mascara. I had raccoon eyes by the time I managed to take it off.

What I didn’t like about this Mascara?

  • Clumps my lashes
  • A pain to remove
  • High price
  • Defies the purpose of mascara – no pretty eyes
  • Doesn’t add volume to my lashes

Final word:

No intense volume, sticky hard eyelashes, high price. Not worth it. It MAY work okay for you if you use only one coat. But there are a lot more options available for you to choose from that are affordable too.
