Avon Simply Pretty Metallic Liquid Eyeliner Electric Blue Review, Swatches and EOTD

Today I’m going to review metallic eyeliner from Avon. I bought this a while back but I haven’t really used it much. Anyway, on to the review!

Price: 

Rs. 249 for 3 ml (what? Reminds me of eye drops)

My Take:

This eyeliner is unique in the sense that it is a very bright electric blue. It dries to a semi-matte finish with a glazed sheen. The nib of the eyeliner is a regular felt tip, which makes applying the eyeliner a piece of cake, even though it’s liquid eyeliner. You need to dip in the brush more than once thought because the nib is so tiny, you run out of the liner by the time you’re midway across your eyelid.

One problem that I see with this liner, at least for me, is that since it’s liquid it transfers onto my lashes and it makes them half electric blue. This happens with most liquid eyeliners I think but with black, it’s not noticeable. So you need a steady hand with this eye liner, or you need to apply some mascara from the top on your upper lashes, to cover the blue in case of any spill overs. (Can you see the single blue eyelash on the outer corner of my eye? Hahaha!) Another issue is that it is NOT waterproof. It’ll give way completely at even the slightest hint of water.

All in all, this eye liner is great for a night out as it’s very loud and a lovely shade of blue. It’s a lovely colour for summer – it’s bright, bold and refreshing.

 

What I like?:

• The shade is beautiful
• The semi-matte finish is really classy
• Felt tip makes it easy to apply
• It does not sting my eyes
• Texture is good which makes application easy
• Packaging is sturdy and small so it can be easily carried in your purse or clutch!

What I didn’t like?:

• It’s a bit overpriced. 250 bucks for this tiny amount of eyeliner?
• Not waterproof. Come on Avon! These days everything is waterproof!

Final word: 

All things considered, I do think this eyeliner is worth a try. It may look too bright on duskier beauties but it doesn’t mean it can’t be carried off. It’s easy to apply and it’s a great colour. Just add this electric blue liner to a casual outfit and your look is instantly transformed! So yes, if you have a bit of pocket money to spare, and you feel the colour will enhance your eyes, I’d say go for it :)

 

Would I Repurchase?: 

Hard to say. The price does put me off but the colour is lovely. Depends on my mood I guess! Hope you liked the review!
