Avon Simply Pretty Mango Mania Nail Enamel Review and NOTD

One of the nail polishes I promised that I would be reviewing was Mango Mania and it is from the Avon Simply Pretty range. I mentioned this nail polish in my article on the Top 5 Nail Polishes for Monsoon 2013 days ago. Well here I am with the review so let’s get started :)

Price and Quantity:

Rs 85 for 5 ml. However it is available on discount more often than not.

 

My Experience:

Mango Mania is a rusty orange, brick shade. On applying two thick coats, it tends to show up as a deep orange – almost like an orange-y red. The shade itself is beyond gorgeous and will look good on practically every skin tone.

The photos show two coats of the nail polish, which is all it needs for full opacity.

NOTD:

I loved this nail polish in terms of application as well. There was no bubbling and no streakiness. It has a flawless finish. The brush is also so easy to work with.

I’m so surprised that I got this kind of finish from a Simply Pretty nail polish, when the Avon Nailwear Pro+ ones are supposed to be the ones with the ‘salon quality’ finish. Then I saw the difference on the second day of wearing the nail polish. The glossiness had decreased slightly. It didn’t decrease any further after that day but there was definitely a reduction in the shine from the first day to the second. This can, of course, be remedied with a clear top coat. This nail polish starts to chip a bit faster too.

If you apply a thick single coat of this nail polish then it shows up as a muted orange colour which is also very pretty. But you’ll have to take care to make all the coats of the same opacity.

 

What I like?:

• Beautiful deep rusty shade
• Smooth application, perfect consistency
• Does not chip for 3-5 days
• Inexpensive
• Color stays true

What I didn’t like?:

• Loses its shine a bit after 1-2 days of wear

Final Word: 

I just cannot get enough of this super gorgeous shade and it has already made its way into my favorites. Like I said, this is a lovely shade for monsoons and a single coat of this can be worn in the summers as well. I think this is a great shade, and I don’t think such a shade is available at this price in any other brand.

Will I Repurchase?: 

Yes, definitely! I can see myself finishing this bottle very soon! ;)
