This time, it is going to be a perfume review guys. Lately I have been searching for lemon grass perfumes all the blame to the Nivea shower gel. Well of late anything even remotely close to the smell of Nivea lemon and oil shower gel makes me crazy and this is one of them.
I got it as a gift from my sister well with two other deodorants from adidas as a set for around 600 I think. I love perfumes more than dresses or anything. Perfumes, shoes, watches.. that’s the list and earrings of course. This is not the original size but a smaller cuter version of the normal size one gets for 600 rupees.
Coming to this one.. let’s see in detail how much I loved it and where I hated it.
Price and Quantity:
Rs. 350 for 30 ml
My Take:
This perfume comes in a transparent glass bottle with sun yellow tinge in it with a plastic cap in the same color.Very summery! The cap is quite tight so no need to be cautious about the spillage or any other kind of damages though since its glass I have to be super careful while dumping it back into my shelf. The cap is kind of in a prism shape and opening it can be messy sometimes.
It has amazing top notes, melon lemon, raspberry and my favorite heart note freesia. The smell at start is really good and after sometime it settles down on freesia and banana, sickly sweet. And after around 3 or so hours it gets to musk and stays there till you spray again. It’s an amazing summer fragrance and really good for people who sweat a lot and work out. It feels fresh for a really long time even if it’s one the base note at that point.
It has normal consistency of a perfume and feels super light even after spraying unlike my Elizabeth Arden Mediterranean one which instantly feels heavy if I spray on my neck. That is an advantage and a disadvantage. As its light on me I don’t get headaches with this one if I spray it too close to my ears or near my sensitive nose.
But at the same time it has less staying power. It only stays for 4 hours max and all your let is with the base tones of cotton and musk after that. I was severely disappointed since well when I sprayed it first it was so melony and close to my Nivea baby but it turned sweet after some time and finally musky. Don’t misunderstand me I love musk but I was in love with lemon grass still am so this is a huge stab to my heart. But apart from my love failure.. it is the best citrus fragrance I owned till date. Just so fresh!
PROS:
- Amazingly fresh fragrance
- Good staying power
- Feels very light
- Good for sensitive noses as well and very cute packaging and I love the yellow colour.
CONS:
- Staying power is less
- Gets to the bottom note fast
- Nothing more I can find.
Rating: 3.5 /5 (even though my heart broke over this, for the price it’s a steal so the rate)
Do I Recommend?:
Yes! Surely though it’s not lemon grass, it is a beautiful summer perfume. And for Chennai weather, this perfume is a double yes!
Would I Repurchase Adidas EDT Perfume Free Emotion?:
Yes of course. Chennai needs free emotion to handle summers her though I won’t tire on my search for the perfect lemon grass one. Any suggestions girls? Please let me know.
Since the staying power is less, I’m gonna give it a try in winters.. But quite a deal you got it at :)

yes dear………try nivea shower gel in lemon and oil..intoxicating and wear this later as a day perfume…double intoxicating…..well i love it…i dont know whether you like citrus fragrances..happy shopping :)
I love citrus fragrances Dharu :) I will definitely try the Nivea Shower gel in lemon and oil. Currently, I am using a vanilla body wash from The nature’s co.. and it smells like vanilla icecream ;;-) ;;-)
