Clean and Clear Skin Balancing Moisturizer Review

Since I’m oily skinned, I get attracted to any product that says oil-free/oil-control. I can compare my situation to that of bees getting attracted to nectar! Ha-ha!

I’m sure many of you must have tried this moisturizer and are still using it. Since I’m oily skinned, finding the right moisturizer for my skin type is a difficult task. I’ve come across products which claim to be oil free but left my skin feeling greasy. But this one did not disappoint. Here’s why.

Price and Quantity:

Rs.80 for 100 ml.

Shelf Life:

Best before 3 years from the date of manufacture.

Ingredients:

My Experience:

The moisturizer comes in a sturdy bottle with a flip-top cap having a small hole to dispense just the right amount of lotion. The cap shuts tightly and thus there is no fear of any leakage.

The moisturizer is white in color and is of a medium consistency. Not too runny and not too thick. It blends easily on my skin. The fragrance is not bothersome at all.

The moisturizer contains salicylic acid and we all know it helps in treating acne and blemishes. I have used this product for over a year and it never broke me out. I’ve noticed it helps in preventing breakouts. I feel this lotion is perfect for summer as it won’t clog the pores. It does not leave any white cast even if you over apply. I use it before applying foundation. If you have a foundation which is difficult to blend then just mix a little of this lotion with the foundation and it will blend effortlessly. Clean & Clear moisturizer keeps oil in check for around 4 hours.

In my opinion, this won’t be suitable for those having normal and dry skin as it won’t moisturize well and there are plenty options in the market. I’ve noticed even on my oily skin during winter it does not moisturize dry patches well.

I dislike the shape of the bottle though. Also, after finishing nearly half the product it becomes a pain to dispense the lotion. It just doesn’t come out easily. So I keep the bottle standing down on the cap so that the lotion accumulates and I can take it out easily.

This moisturizer does not contain SPF. I wish it had.

PROS:

  • Very cheap
  • Best suited for oily skin
  • Contains salicylic acid
  • Did not break me out
  • Blends easily and doesn’t feel greasy
  • Keeps my skin oil free for around 4 hours
  • Travel friendly packaging
  • Easily available.

CONS:

  • It is a pain to take out the lotion after finishing half the bottle
  • Does not contain SPF
  • Not suitable for those having dry skin

Rating: 3.5/5

Do I Recommend?:

Well, if you are oily skinned and you want a decently priced moisturizer for daily use then you can go for this. For those who want to try other brands, Neutrogena and Cetaphil have good ones.

Would I Repurchase?:

Not really. Although this one is good, I have more oil free/oil control moisturizers lying around which I am yet to try. I want to finish this off soon.
