Coloressence is the sister brand of Nature Essence. Nature essence has many facial and skin care products. With the make up colors and cosmentics, they are known as Coloressence. This is my first coloressence product.

My Experience:

Packaging: The standards twist up tube case with a plastic black cap that shuts with a click. The cap is opaque. But the bottom of the tube is transparent showing the color of the lipstick.

Color & Texture: The shade is a beautiful pinkish coral. It is neither pink nor coral; both are mixed in equal amounts. And this is definitely a basic color that has to be present in every body’s collection; every day color type. The texture is feather light and very thin. It is not shiny on the lips, yet it is not matte; it is some where mid way.

 

How it works?: In the lip swatch image I have applied directly on my bare lips. My lips are usually dry. It did not get clumped on my dry lips. It does not settle on the fine lines of my lips too. It looks very evenly spread and the pigmentation is also very good.
It stays on for so so so long that you would be amazed; easily for over 6 hours on me. Even then, it did not turn my lips flaky. When it begins to fade, it leaves behind the color tint on the lips. And here is one problem when it fades; it fades unevenly making my lips patchy with colors in some area of the lips. :( I do not like this.

 

PROS:

  • Good coverage.
  • Well pigmented lip color.
  • Does not get clumped on the lips.
  • Does not settle on the fine lines of the lips.
  • Does not dry the lips.
  • Very good staying power.
  • Applies the color evenly.
  • Travel friendly twist tube package.
  • Transparent tube bottom helps in identifying the color.

 

CONS:

  • The color fades unevenly on the lips.
  • Leaves behind color patches on the lips

 

Rating: 3/5

 

My Recommendation:

If you keep a reminder to remove the lipstick off by yourself before they tend to fade unevenly on your lips, then you may proceed to buy this. Or else forget the product. They have good basic colors that will suit of every day use and easy color carrying for all types of occasions.

 

Would I Repurchase?: No.

  1. Nice Review Chand! :) But if it is leaving uneven stains behind, then this product is not for me.. I have tried and loved Nature Essence but yet to try the Coloressence brand.

  4. It’s a really pretty shade but I found it extremely dry and patchy on my lips. Guess it must differ from tube to tube???!!! Nice review.

    1. Now should I try these lippies or not? I am confused :-/ What if we use it with a good lip balm underneath? Does it prevent the extra dryness?

    2. I have dry skin hence maybe the issue of dryness but otherwise they are definitely good Lancy. I really like their range of colours; nice, subtle soft as well as bold colours. And like Natasha mentioned using a lip balm should work :). Get it Lancy!! :-bd

  5. somehow i never had issue wid these lippies except the summer look one.. yes they are matte.. while application no issue bt then it dries later on the lips.. using a lip balm will work i guess.. i was wearing this shade to church today its quite nice and bright… nice review :)
