Hand Creams for Brittle Nails & Ugly Cuticles: MABH RBQ

Madhulika asks..

Hi Lancy,

Since last few days I am battling this serious issue and could not find a proper solution, that is, poor condition of my hands. Its specially because of dead tissues and cuticles which I am unable to remove in spite of several efforts. Even tried manicure but not of much help. My hands are even discolored and looking so dirty (at fingertips), even I am facing trouble of brittle nails and maybe due to the same. Any cream to soften tissues and remove them or any treatment kind. Please help!

Hi Madhulika, try daily scrubbing. But before that could you be allergic to the dish washing soap or something like that? Sometimes continuous usage can cause brittle nails.

    1. Try scrubbing your hands twice a week using a good hand scrub or rice powder + sugar + olive oil mixture.

    2. Wear gloves when you do house hold works :) A Nicekp said, you might be allergic to some dish soap or liquid. If the problem is severe, consult with a dermatologist asap.

    3. Use a good hand cream to lock the moisture after every time you wash your hands. If you leave your hands dry, there comes dead tissues and brittle nails.

    4. I sometimes apply lip balm on my nails when they get brittle ;;-) This does help a lot.

    5. Before going to bed at night, wash your hands with a gentle cleanser and put on some cold cream. Wear cotton gloves and have a good night sleep! Keep it mind, you should never use SOAPS on your hand as they are already dry!

Try these tidbits and let me know the results ;) Good Luck Madhu!

After cooking and cleaning I will Moisture my palms and hands well….

During night time before going bed I will massage my hand and fingers by Almond oil…. and will left it for over night….
