Kottakkal Kumkumadi Tailam – My Experience and Review

Few months back when I had a terrible break out my Ayurveda doctor suggested me to get kottakal kumkumadhi thailam. She addressed this thailam as ‘All in one beauty solution’. Product description:

Kumkumadi Tailam is Ayurvedic herbal oil used for face massage. It is helpful to improve skin texture, complexion and also to relieve skin problems such as acne, scars etc. Kumkuma means saffron, which is the main ingredient of this medicine.

 

Ingredients:

Kumkuma, Usira, kaliya, laksha, Chandana, Padmaka, Manjistha, Taila etc (strange names right :P)

 

 

Direction of use:

Take few drops and massage into face.

My take on Kottakal Kumkumadhi Thailam:

The product comes in small plastic bottle (kind of eye drops bottle) :P with nozzle through which you can get few drops need for application.

The thailam is in pinkish red colour reminded me saffron which is the main ingredient of kumkumadhi thailam. My skin type is changed to extremely dry due to winter, so to adding heavy moisture I applied it in bedtime replaced with my night cream and left throughout out the night. Coming to the application part I took just 3 -5 drops of the oil into my hands, apply a light coat of it evenly onto the face or to the acne area (spot treatment). To this additionally I followed my CTM routing also religiously. For my surprise my pimple started to vanish in few days and formation of new pimple completely stopped. It amazed me how the oil can clear the pimple. Now I am into my second bottle, experimenting to lighten my lip pigmentation. I can scream in joy it removed 50% of lip pigmentation after three weeks of usage (what can be great then this) :)

We can’t expect overnight or very quick reaction with this oil but it will definitely make a noticeable change in two weeks’ time. After one month continuous usage my dark spots which was there due to old pimples started to fade away, my sun tan completely gone and skin is looking more radiant than before. I gifted this to my friend who is going to get married in two months and waiting to see the changes on her face :D

For oily skin beauties leaving the oil overnight may cause break out so you can cleanse your face in evening time, take few drops and massage into face, leave it for 30 minutes followed by rinse with cold water.

As it contains saffron not advisable to apply when you are exposing your skin to sun.

 

PROS:

  • Controlled my pimples, faded away my dark spots caused by pimples.
  • Added radiance to my skin and cleared my sun tan.
  • Fully chemical free :)
  • Reduced my lips pigmentation.
  • Affordable price compare to the results its giving.

 

CONS:

  • Scary eye drops kind of bottle it comes in.
