NYX Eyeshadow Base Skin Tone Review, Photos and Swatches

I am back with another review of a something I wanted for so long, an eye shadow base. I have heard about a lot of good things about eye shadow bases that they make your eye makeup last long etc..etc.. Lets see how this product in particular worked for me.

Price & Quantity:

Rs. 625 for 6 gm though prices are variable on different online shopping sites.

My Take:

The product comes in a cute little glass pot with white cap. I don’t know why I have this affection to small glass tub/pot, I want to pick anything and everything which come in these ;)

As the shade’s name suggests its a shade resembling normal skin tone to make them more natural. It is  smooth in consistency and creamy in texture which blends onto the lids fast very easily. The product has a very non bothersome plastic smell.

This product is really easy to apply, it can be easily applied with your fingers on the lid because the formula is very creamy and smooth to apply but if you don’t want your hands to get messy you can even apply it with a concealer brush also.

One thing I must say about this base is that it really enhance the eyeshadow colors and makes them pop out. You can see a stark difference between the shades which are applied with the base on and without the base.
You can also see that the eyeshadow with base looks completely smooth and has no fine lines as compared to the shadow without the base from which you can see through those lines.

Only after using this base I realized that a good eyeshadow base can really go a long way in making your makeup stay long, and even after a long day the shadow colors showed signs of fading which is a big plus for me.

The only con about this base is that it can make your eye lids oily after sometime, which can be a con for a oily skinned girls like me but when I set the base with a little loose powder and then it wasn’t a very big problem.

 

PROS:

• Affordable
• Very easy to apply
• The shade flesh color so will suit all skin types.
• The base really helps the eyeshadows show their true colours
• No creasing occurs as it hides all the fine lines.
• Makes your eye makeup stay super long which is super awesome :)
• Very little product required for single application so it will go a long way for me.

CONS:

• Makes your lids oily after sometime
• Availability of this particular shade

Do I Recommend?:

Yes! Totally, especially for beginners it is a very good product most suitable for dry to combination type skinned girls but can be used by oily skinned also by the above described trick.

 

Would I Repurchase?:

No. May be I would like to try some different brand in a texture that will suit oily lids.
