Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream Review

Hello Everyone!

Today I am going to review my mom’s most favorite vicco turmeric cream. (There is also a version without sandalwood oil. i.e Vicco Turmeric WSO cream.

I was introduced to this turmeric skin cream by my mom when I was studying in 3rd grade. I used to bug her to get me some creams or lipsticks or whatever which comes under a beauty tag. But wait.. I was not allowed to use this cream on daily basis over my face as my mom felt that my skin was not matured enough. Whenever I happened to get any wound or burn, my mom’s hand reaches for this cream and I even used to think that it was just a medicine or some ointment long ago.

Only after few years, after I grown up into a teenage girl, I got to know this is actually a skin cream with medicinal properties! From that day, I am using this Vicco product till now regularly and here comes my receive on it.

Price:

Rs.48 for 15g

Storage Instruction:

Protect from direct sunlight.

Key Ingredients:

Extracts of turmeric and sandalwood oil.

My Experience:

This skin cream comes in a not-so-good looking packaging. It comes in a very simple tube; like one in which those ointments come but that is not an issue for me. It has a not-so-tight screw cap so you surely should be careful while traveling with this product (It made my handbag messy twice) Hence I always keep in mind to tight the screw cap well before carrying it) For the price, I have no big complaints with the packaging part.

This cream is light yellowish in color with a thick texture. I found the fragrance natural, but a bit strong. It somewhat smells like as if you have mixed talc and turmeric together and made it a paste. Though I have a sensitive nose, I do not have much problem with the fragrance part as it fades quickly. If you are a real lover of turmeric, you will love the fragrance of this product.

Before talking about the effects of this cream, let me explain its type of finish on the skin. This cream, though being thick doesn’t feel heavy on my facial skin. I have that medium-light feel soon after applying this cream over my skin. It settles into a soft matte finish and gives that natural glow instantly after usage.

Being a summer oily skinned person, I did not find this cream hard to blend on my skin however I should quickly massage my skin after applying this cream in order to get it absorbed well. All I get is a brightened, white caste free, matte skin! I dab some loose powder or compact over it and I am all set to go. (Remember that it doesn’t contain SPF so you must use your sunscreen separately if you are stepping out in the sun)

With regular usage, I have noticed that it made my skin tone even, lightened acne scars fast and made my skin supple to touch. It has also helped me keep my rare acne breakouts in check. It does not help with lightening skin much but of course it has improved my skin texture very well. Oily skinned girls (or even guys?) will love this cream very much.

Now comes the bad part! Though this cream brightens skin, it is NOT suitable for those who have dry skin! :( My skin tends to change normal-oily during winters but still then I found this cream turning my facial skin stretchy in winters. So I make sure to use it with a moisturizer in winter. And one more thing.. My sister has extremely oily skin and she found this cream not impressive too. After 2 hours of application, this one make her T zone oily so she stopped using it. For me, it helps my face stay matte for a very long time. (Wondering how!)

Overall, I must say that it is a tricky cream; for some it works wonderfully and for the other, it fails to work. Climatic conditions matter too. From my guess, I say that this cream will suit you best if you have oily or normal skin. Give it a try if you have normal skin too, but don’t forget to dab on some moisturizer before applying it. If you have extremely dry skin, then forget about this cream please!

Do I Recommend?:

Yes of course! To all oily skinned girls and also the normal skinned people. Get it for sure only if you do not have an extremely dry skin type. This cream might still stretch your skin out even if you have normal-oily skin and in that case, use a moisturizer along with it. Using a moisturer along with it makes the cream easily blend-able too.

I cannot say no to this wonderful turmeric product! If your skin loves it and accepts it without any trouble, it does wonders to lighten scars and make your skin tone even with regular usage.

Would I Repurchase?:

You really have a doubt?

I created the blog in 2011 during my high school days and then went on to regret the domain name. More than writing, I love my kitchen-experiments; currently hoarding cast iron pans.
