Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner Sapphire Review, Swatches & EOTD

Myself Deepti, a medical doc by profession but a shopaholic/fashion freak/beauty geek by passion. I have been following MABH for quite sometime now and I love it. Never thought would ever write for a blog but I had a lot of time to kill these days but most of all, My hubby dearest(who’s is the best-est :) ) really encouraged me to go for it.. So here goes my first hope you enjoy reading it  as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Product Availability:

Frankly I bought this product online from amazon in USA along with loads of other products :P and My sis in law brought them to India for me ( I love her!! :) ) I checked it online but only shade I could find was Blackest black even amongst the Maybelline’s franchise stores in delhi. All in all you will be able to procure the product easily but a particular shade availability will always be variable.

My Experience:

Packaging: This Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner comes in a very cute little glass tub. Honestly the first time ever I came across gel eyeliner was when my bff was using one of the MAC’s eye pot and since then I always wanted to have a glass tub/pot as they are super cute. The lid of the glass tub is a screw cap and is quite handy, convenient and travel friendly.

Color, Consistency & Texture: This particular shade is Sapphire Blue and a very beautiful blue as you can see in the pictures but this particular shade is not for everyday eyeliner wearers so with me, as I would only wear this shade with either a matching dress or in night parties or other special occasions, but when worn it actually adds that ‘drama’ to your eyes so the name (but I still just loved this pretty blue gem shade).
The liner is completely odorless. The product has a smooth and creamy texture and doesn’t powder after application.

 

How it Works?: As instructed I applied through the given brush in a completely hassle free manner..The product has a very smooth and creamy texture and glides like a dream. And unlike other liquid/pencil eyeliner it feels like feather on your eyelids and dries up as you apply; No 2 min eye closing and fanning exercise as with liquid eyeliners. No itching or stinging as claimed;  lines the lash line uniformly though more than one stroke is required for full coverage but it gives a very nice “Blue Sheen” to your lashes :)
The product is completely water resistant and waterproof as you can see the pictures. It doesn’t smudge at all unless may be rubbed vigorously which I didn’t.

Staying Power: I am super duper Impressed by the staying power of this little product. It was perfectly at its place almost the entire day 10+ hours and didn’t breakout from a single point. Though I had to remove my makeup after that but by the look of the eyeliner I think it could have stayed for a couple of hours more. One word WOW!! for its super staying power. Every girl dreams of an non smudging, super staying eyeliner.. Isn’t it…???

If long lasting is what you want.. It answers your prayers! :)

All in all I will say except for a few very negligible flaws, it is a product worth trying and worthy of your vanity case seriously. I personally love all the “No Nonsense” products. Ladies this is a product for you if you are willing to pay for the amazing quality and brand name!

• Smooth and feathery texture, glides like a dream
• Dries as you apply; completely  hassel free
• Water resistant and waterproof as claimed.
• No itching or stinging
• Stays for more than 10+ hours
• Feels like feather on the lashes.
• The provided flat tip applicator is very nice.
• Very handy and travel friendly packaging.
• Amongst all the bigger brands with a range of gel eyeliners I think maybelline ones are really affordable.

CONS:

• Multiple strokes may be required sometimes.
• Not so reasonably priced.

Do I Recommend?:

Yes! Totally. I think the shades of black and sapphire are must haves for every girl who can afford a tiny hole in her pocket once in a while ;)

 

Would I Repurchase?:

I would love to.. If one gel eye liner in my vanity is must have, I would definitely go for this :)
