I think, scrubbing is one really important practice to keep our skin soft and fresh as it removes dead cells and provides us new baby soft skin. I do use scrub at daily basis, and though I have not still got over my Khadi Kesar Peeling Scrub, I wanted to try this one. So, today I will be reviewing Lakme Clean Up Face Scrub with strawberry extracts.

I will review another product from the Lakme Absolute range which is the Lakme Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact. I had great expectations after using the mousse foundation from the same range. Let me tell you if this fulfilled my expectations.

The dual Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact contains a unique formula of Hyaluronic acid hydrates which restores the natural glow and Vitamin B3 acts as the fairness agent. Use it dry as a Compact and wet as a foundation to look naturally fair and flawless.

My Take on this Compact:
The shade that I use is ’03 Golden medium’ which is the medium shade out of the three options available. I had mistakenly bought ’01 Ivory Fair’ first just because the SA suggested but it was a grave mistake.
The outer cover is a gunmetal colored plastic case that is sleek and compact. Packaging is a highlight in this range. It comes with a mirror which is useful if you want to touch up on the go. Also a sponge applicator is provided and that is present in a separate compartment at the lower part. There are tiny holes for aeration at the bottom. Nevertheless, one needs to clean the sponge after every use.
The absolute range from Lakme is great in terms of their texture. The powder is very fine milled and feels totally smooth when applied. If you remember I would have mentioned this in the Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse review too. This is a powder foundation that can be used in the dry form over moisturized skin. It gives more coverage than your usual powders. It brightens up the skin and gives a sheer matte finish.
The skin stays oil free for about 3 hours and needs touch ups after that. In summers this staying power may be lesser also. My T zone is what gets oily first, so touch ups there will do well for me. After an hour it will set into a natural dewy form and will make your face glow. This is something that I love about this compact.
If you are going to use it over your foundation to set it, then better use a light hand and minimal product. It may get over the top since the coverage of this compact powder is more. The sponge is soft but I find it rather useless. For dry powder application, brushes are the best since they give an even natural look.
When I used the sponge for wet application, I immediately turned into a vampire; my skin looked patchy, cakey and ghastly. I could simply not blend it at all. Blemishes and acne scars will be highlighted and this defies the purpose of makeup. Since then I am using it only as a dry compact powder.

Today here is a review of another Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick . Other than browns, pinks are the shades to get a natural look. This one is a brown pink colored shade. So without talking much I am directly jumping into the review.

The packaging is just the same as it was years back during my childhood. It is packed in a plastic container. Its packaging is sturdy and its travel friendly. The package doesn’t show the shade from outside at all. So you need to open the cap and check the shade which isn’t possible always. On using it for long time, the cap may become loose slowly. I think they should change the package.
The shade 129 is simply super. I mean it is such a color that everyone can easily carry. I am a beginner at makeup and as soon as I saw this just fell in love with this shade. It is something like a mixture of pink, brown and peachy color. It shows dark in color as if it is a brown shade in the tube but when applied, it shows the peachy pink with slight brown undertone.
So you can’t judge the shade by just looking at the tube anyways. This is the shade everyone should have. This can be used on daily basis for simple look. It is the perfect shade for college and office goers. This shade simply suits all skin tones. Coming to the texture, this lipstick is smooth and creamy. It glides easily on the lips and a single swipe is just enough due to its pigmentation. It gives semi matte finish is going to make your lips look fuller.
So you need not apply any gloss on the lipstick coat. It moisturizes and doesn’t dry out the lips at all which I prefer the most. This stays on lips up to 5 hours if you don’t take any food or drink. Else you need touch ups. Also this lipstick is transferable. It easily transfers to the glass. Also don’t bite your lips. It may transfer to your teeth as well. Plus this lipstick seems to have sun protection. So go ahead. The lipstick seems to be so creamy so while applying, very light pressure should be applied to avoid breakage.
Overall I think this range is worth a try and coming to the shade it’s a must for all the beauties. And coming to the price it’s worth the price.

Will I Recommend?:
A big yes. It is good for daily use specially office and college use. Also if you are comfortable with the staying power and its transfer-ability, you can definitely try it out.
This is my first ever foundation product in makeup. Believe me I was not into makeup except eyes an year before. I got this to wear only for special occasions. I heard that it was a great product for beginners though I didn’t like it much.

Packaging: It comes in a cute pot with a second lid covering. The packaging makes it very travel friendly and it does not leak. But the product gets a bit messy as we have to dip fingers every time. And the cakey formation on the sides of the inner lid is really a problem and the product kind of dries a lot there.
Fragrance: It has the typical Lakme fragrance. It smells pleasan like their moisturisers. The fragrance is not at all overpowering and disappears within few hours.
Consistency: The souffle has the consistency of Lacto Calamine; not creamy and neither too runny, it’s really good. I refer this consistency in foundations too. It is very smooth and feels hydrating as we apply. And it is ideal for dry skinned and combination skinned beauties. It stays for around 4 hours maximum in AC environment. It is not sweat proof by the way.
Working: As per the claims, I don’t know about the UV protection part. This one brightens my face considerably. Though if blended too much it became flaky and fell off my skin. The product kinda gets separated and you can feel a bit of oily water emulsion while blending. It gives average coverage. I have pigmentation issues near my chin and sides of the face because of pollution in Bangalore. This one covers it up easily but I prefer their foundation instead of this.
The shade natural marble is good for me right now because of my severe tan but after some time it made me look orangey. It is good for daily wear but not for me. Dry skinned beauties will love this. Oily skin will need lots of powder. I also had a bit of sweating issues immediately after applying. You can notice near my lips. It transfers to anything in contact
FOTD: I am wearing the souffle with aloe vera gel (patanjali), Lakme Radiance Compact, Elle 18 Red Rogue Lipstick, and Dazzler Lipstick Shade No 134 as blush. It is quite nude so barely noticeable in pictures and gives perfect natural blush. I look warm here because of sunlight and haven’t worn any concealer so that you can see how much it covers.

Do I Recommend?:
Yes! Surely for people with dry skin and combination skin maybe. It is definitely good for college goers and mild makeup use or starters.
Would I Buy Again?:
Nope. I am happier with my foundation. I am using this like only occasionally for eye priming purposes. The caked up part works good as a mild concealer since I don’t have dark circles and this is very close to my skin tone at present even if mine is recovering from the tan and pigmentation.
Special note: To Adi and Lancy for putting the CTM routine importance post. I have never been more thankful to anyone more than you guys. Now whatever product that didn’t work before is working for me. My pigmentation and tan reduced considerably. A hundred kisses and hugs to both you beauties.
