Hope all are fine. Today’s review is about a sentimental product. He he. It is sentimental because it is my first scrub. Until some months back, I was afraid of scrubs. I thought it would destroy my skin as it is harsh, however as days passed I understood the importance of scrubs in skincare. Lets move on the review.

I recently came across some face scrub reviews on internet. I am afraid they might contain harmful chemicals. When I asked one of my close friends about this, she advised me to use sooji/rava as facial scrub as it is harmless.
Shall I use sooji on my face? If yes, then how to use it? Please guide me! Thanks :-)

Claims of the Scrub:
The scrub is cream based so it’s quite thick – like a slightly thick paste. It feels a bit heavy when I start to apply it on my face. The scrub particles are slightly sharp and can hurt if you rub too hard. It takes a while to wash off the scrub completely because of the thick consistency. It has a very fruity refreshing fragrance with a hint of banana.
Not only does it scrub off the dead skin, it is EXTREMELY moisturizing. Again, I guess this is because the scrub has a cream base. My skin felt hydrated – almost to the point of feeling greasy when I washed it off. Now that is a FIRST for my dry skin! My skin usually feels very stretchy and flaky after using a face wash so this is a huge plus point. The greasiness wore off after about half an hour but my skin still felt quite moisturized. I felt like I had used a heavy moisturizer on my skin! But this made me wonder how it works on oily skinned beauties.
When I use this at night before sleeping, I can notice the effects of the scrub even the next morning and for hours after. My skin looks radiant and clean the whole day :D I don’t know if you can notice in the photos, but my hand is looking a lot smoother after using the scrub on it. :)

Final Word:
I love this scrub and it’s one of the best scrubs I have used till date. I have never used anything quite like it and I really appreciate the fact that, after I shelled out 215 bucks for it, it got me results. It does everything it claimed and makes my skin look rejuvenated and refreshed, without drying it out.
Do I recommend this Scrub?:
I think this is a great scrub for dry skinned girls and combination skin girls who tend to get dry skin when the weather becomes slightly cool. Although the scrub says it’s for all skin types, I would perhaps not recommend for oily skinned beauties. It might work for them but I feel this will probably make their skin greasy. I never stop buying face washes from different brands, and Garnier Pure Exfoliating Face Wash with Eucalyptus Leaf Extract also falls prey of my experimental nature. Anyways, this face wash comes in a white short tube with a screw cap. It smells really weird, like how leaves smell. The face wash is transparent liquid gel with blue tiny granules.
It lathers very well, only small amount is required for every wash. It also rinses off very easily and leaves a little bit of slippery effect which goes off after 4-5 splashes (win-win!). The tiny blue granules are very mild which helps in mild exfoliating. It cleans skin pretty well. And the good part is it does not dry my skin out. My skin feels perfectly moisturized and yet very fresh. The oil control effect stays about 4 hours.
I have never used any Garnier products before; I was not sure about this face wash also. But I needed to try and search for my HG face wash, so I bought it. Unfortunately it fails to be my HG face wash, even though it works great for me, I cannot overlook the cons.

Every time I write for MABH, I get so excitement down my heart that I cannot even express. :P So, coming back to the topic, how often do you use scrub? I honestly cannot live without it, if I don’t scrub for a week; I feel like my skin is full of dirt and dead cells (even if I do CTM daily). And I am reviewing today my all time scrub, Khadi Kesar Peeling Scrub Gel. I bought it online last year and still using it.

Rs. 145 for 210ml. (I got it for Rs. 123)
I have normal skin with T-zone oily and I use this scrub for my weekly scrubbing and also for my home facial scrubbing. To begin with, this scrub comes in a typical Khadi bottle, but luckily mine was bit sturdy. It has flip top cap.
The scrub is a reddish orange color gel with millions of black and off white granules. When applying it on the skin, it gives a nice cooling feel, and the smell is exactly like kesar mixed with some other herbs (the smell reminds me of Pass pass :P). It is thick gel and because of the packaging, after a few uses (when the level goes down), it becomes hard to get it out.
It purely cleans my skin, making it soft and supple. It rinses very well, without leaving any slippery effect. The granules are quite hard, so I don’t use it when I have pimples on my skin. It is directed to rinse with lukewarm water for better result; I totally get the idea when I use this scrub for my home facial. After scrubbing and getting steam, my face feels like baby’s skin and it glows, really!
Well, Khadi is quite known as herbal company, but there is preservative in the ingredient list (which breaks my heart). Other than that, I love this scrub, it may not be making my skin fairer or removes spots, but it cleanses my skin and makes it like baby’s skin. It does not dry out my skin nor needs no face wash after using this (Lotus Apricot Scrub needed face wash after).
When I ordered this scrub online, I thought it might be peel off gel as displayed on its name. But after trying it for the first time, I saw no peeling condition. I wondered why they would name it Khadi Kesar Peeling Scrub Gel if it is not for peeling, after 3-4 uses, I realized that it is called “peeling” because it peels the dead cells from skin and gives a new baby soft skin. :P

This particular idea of face wash, scrub and pack in one is quite fascinating, don’t you feel? Well, I thought let’s give it a try, and I did. So, today I will review Nivea Pure Effect Total Face Cleanup for you ladies.

I am using this product approximately for over a month now, I will now share my experience with you. This cleanser comes in a fat tube. It has a flip cap, which is highly preferable. The smell of the product is very strong, very chemical type at the same time weird also.
The face wash or scrub or pack (don’t know, what I am supposed to call it exactly) is a thick white paste, full of tiny blue granules. I used to get confused at the beginning about how to use it. The direction says to use it as scrub first then as pack; but I don’t find it useful. So, I keep it for 3-4 minutes as pack, then I scrub and rinse. After washing my face it gives a refreshing feeling which I like about this product.
The blue granules are quite helpful as scrub material, but as a pack I don’t find it good enough. The after effect of this product is not quite amusing, it makes skin supple (like all scrubs do), and also controls oil for sometime only but other than that it does nothing for my skin (I have normal skin with T-zone oily). Though it claims, but actually does not remove spots at all.
It cleans my face pretty well; other than that I did not notice any visible effect on my skin. Overall, I can use it (until it’s over) as a scrub (though not daily) when I needed; but not as a pack because I have better face packs like Himalaya Fairness Face Pack (my Holy Grail) to treat my skin. I do not like this product because I did not see any visible effects (like oil-control, spot remover, works as a pack) on my skin as it claims.

No . If you must need a scrub, there are lot better scrubs available.
