How to Make Your Face Look Thinner with Makeup? – 3 Easy Steps

Many of us feel our face is much broader than what we prefer and we feel there is no way out of it. But hey! When there is will, there is definitely a way! And so the art of contouring was invented.

What you will need for it? Well it depends on what products you want to use for the contouring. If you are to use a cream product it’s best to use your fingers and if you want to use a powder then you can use a brush. So we will mention each way separately.

 

Contouring Face with Concealer or Cream Bronzer:

Step 1:

Apply foundation on you face and do your usual makeup. Before applying the setting powder follow these steps. We can do the contouring using two types of products bronzers or concealers (in two shades darker than your natural skin tone)

Step 2:

Take a concealer in two shades darker than your skin tone or a cream or stick bronzer and take a bit of the product on the tip of the fingers. Now make your face into a fish face as in the picture.

Now though contouring is different in each face type and shape usually the contouring should start from the area on your cheek which is parallel to the mid portion of your ears (the part right under your natural cheek bone). Take the finger and slightly apply the bronzer from the cheek towards the mouth. Apply small portions and amounts and apply according to your preferences.

Step 3:

Top with a light layer of face powder or setting powder.

Contouring Face with Compact or Powder Bronzer:

Step 1:

Apply foundation on you face and do your usual makeup. Before applying the setting powder follow these steps. We can do the contouring using two types of products Bronzers or compact (in two shades darker than your natural skin tone)

Step 2:

Take an angled blush brush/an angled bronzing brush and take a small amount of product on the brush. Now contouring should start from the area on your cheek which is parallel to the mid portion of your ears (the part right under your natural cheek bone . Take the brush and apply the bronzer from the cheek towards the mouth. Apply small portions and amounts and apply according to your preferences.

Step 3:

If you feel there are prominent lines or that you want to tone down the effect then use a fluffy face brush or a kabuki brush to soften the area with light strokes. And you are done.

Now why we have suggested face powder and concealer is that it’s quite hard to find a good contouring powder or bronzer which is matte so this will do the trick on an everyday basis.

Today I am going to review the Elle 18 Lipstick in Fresh Orchids shade. This range is available in around 25 different shades. Don’t forget to check them out.

My Take:

Packaging: The packaging style is completely in plastic and the cap is really cute and chick!

 

Color, Texture and Fragrance: The color is in tone of light maroon with a dash of copper but it does not look very loud. The shade Fresh Orchids is as refreshing as the name! ;) And in my view, it should go with any skin tone. It is a pretty girly shade nice to wear to office or any casual outing. Texture wise it is non-sticky and mildly glossy. To get the compelete hue on your lips, 2 applications are a must. However,the texture is really light. You will just feel as if you have applied a lip balm.

The fragrance of this lipstick is nice and good. It makes you feel good at the very onset of the day. What better idea to soothe your senses when you have a long tiring day at work ahead of you! The fragrance lasts for a good half an hour, if not more!

How it works: application is easy but at least 2 coats are a must. It is mildly glossy due to the added cocoa butter in the centre but that leaves the lips well nourished. The shine however is very natural and does not look awkward. Bliss for those with dry lips since you get to enjoy both colour and moisture! It stays on for about 2 hours on me. After that,you might need another touch up.

Overall, this lip color provides nice moisturizing effect that makes your lips really supple! :) The rich moisture makes the application very easy and helps the lipstick glide smoothly.

PROS:

CONS:

  • Single coat doesn’t give proper shade

Do I Recommend?: 

Yes. This is a must try budget lipstick! If the shade suits you well and good otherwise it is not at all heavy on pocket. The color is very fresh and can even be used as a blush as well. The cocoa butter leave your lips well nourished and soft. The fragrance is appealing. Last but not the least, the reliability of Elle 18!!

What else can we possibly ask for in 100 bucks? :D You can make an entire collection of these color pops at a reasonable price! Go try out some other shades for yourself. From my side it is a definite thumbs up!!

 

Would I Repurchase?:  

Yes. I already have purchased another shade of the same range. And will fetch myself some more! ;)

 

Maybelline Vivid and Smooth Eyeliner Metallic Silver Review & Swatches

For a beginner with eyeliners; pencil eyeliners are the best options. There is never going crooked in the line that is drawn. I remember I had begun my journey with pencil eyeliners. And today I have moved on to color liners too. This is a review post on Maybelline Vivid Smooth Eyeliner in Metallic Grey.

My Experience:

Packaging: Maybelline Vivid Smooth Eyeliner is the common type of pencil with black body and a small portion of color at the end of the body. The pencil tip has a transparent cap for closing.

Color & Texture: The product is very creamy and glides very easily on my eyelid. It gives a good pigmented color on my eyes. I have dark circles around my eyes, so nothing much can be expected for me from any eye product. Yet, this silver color fares well on me.

How it works: If you wear it like an eye liner then this is a perfect one. If you use it thick and spread it along the lid to look like an eye shadow, then it creases badly. It stays on good for 5 long hours if used as eyeliner. Later on it begins to fade and smudge slightly.

This range has many shades; various pigmentation type and sheer ones. It is a range with mixed type of product. So, the view about Metallic Silver pencil cannot be considered for other colored pencil of the same Maybelline Vivid Smooth Eyeliner range.

I find this pencil eyeliner very handy. The cap makes the pencil very travel friendly too. It can be easily carried every where in the bag.

 

PROS:

  • Easy handling pencil eyeliner
  • Beautiful silver shade
  • Creamy texture
  • Glides on lash line without clumping and tugging
  • No pressure is required for the color pigmentation to be shown
  • Good staying power
  • Travel friendly product
  • Variety of shades in the same range

CONS:

  • If used as an eyeshadow along the eyelid, it creases badly.

My Recommendation: 

Yes. A pocket friendly colored pencil eyeliner that is creamy and soft on the sensitive skin around the eyes. The pencil id well pigmented too.

 

Would I Repurchase?:

Yes. I have one more shade from this range. And I am planning to buy more.

Bodyography Veil Foundation Primer Clear Review & Swatches

Hi Pretty girls,

I am back from my vacations all fresh and charged up! I went to Alibaug and Kashid which are very close to Mumbai. Everybody said that after visiting Goa I’d be disappointed with their beaches but as a matter of fact I wasn’t.. Their beaches are very calm and serene and not much commercialized as yet, which is the best part. The most memorable part was taking a long walk with my hubby at kashid beach on their white sands early in the morning :) (Yes! I am a die hard romantic girl)


Okay enough of the mushy talks ;) Today I’m going to review this little product, the Bodyography Veil Foundation in Clear Shade which has really taken me by surprise..

My Take:

Packaging: The product comes in a cute tiny squeezable black tube.

Color, Texture & Fragrance: This primer is totally colorless and has a very mild pleasant odor. It won’t irritate sensitive noses. It has a very silky texture with smooth consistency.

How it works: I just popped a pea sized amount on the back of my hand and applied it all over my face and neck. This wonderful primer has weightless formula and blends in before you even get to know :) It creates a silky smooth layer on your face and acts as a very good makeup base. It does not irritate or itch and is suitable for oily/sensitive skin types like mine. (Yay! I’m happy)

This little product does fills out all those fine lines and does not breakout as claimed.. And yes! it does make my makeup stay longer than usual. I an super duper impressed by the amazing quality of this product and the fact that it does what it claims. You know it works when your makeup is intact when you come back home after a busy day :)

PROS:

  • Just a pea size amount is enough for one application
  • The product lasts long.
  • Spreads out evenly without breaking
  • Silky smooth finish
  • Provides a great makeup base.
  • Does not irritate/itch your skin.
  • Actually helps makeup last longer
  • Amazingly light formula
  • Does fills those fine lines

CONS:

  • A bit expensive (But worth the price)
  • Quantity is very less
