My Simple and Easy DIY Hair Spa Recipe to Control Hair Fall : Steps and Photos

Hi girls!

This is my first ever DIY post and I am super excited to share this simple yet effective hair spa recipe with you all. Few months ago, I went to a beauty-parlour for a haircut. At that time, I was suffering from huge hair loss issue and my hair was losing its shine and smoothness! My job doesn’t allow me enough time to take proper care of my hair, so I was forced to cut my hair short. And the hair dresser girl was constantly telling me about my hair loss (Urgh!!!!! Stop rubbing salt onto my wound please!!) Once my hair was done, she suggested me to visit the parlour once in 15 days for hair spa to control my hair fall. But it wasn’t really easy for me since I get only one weekly off and I feel super lazy to go out anywhere on that day!!

But I had to do something for my hair loss problem. This was the time when my aunt came out to rescue me (When you’re in trouble, you can always depend on your family). She suggested me to opt for a homemade hair spa. For last couple of months I have been using this recipe (I added a few elements of my own to my aunt’s recipe) and it is working!! My hair fall has reduced to a great extent and hair got soft, smooth and shiny like never before. Right now, my hair is little longer than shoulder length and slightly wavy. So here’s my super easy hair spa recipe. :)

My Hair Spa at Home to Get Shiny Hair in a DAY : Tutorial and Before & After Pictures

before and after spa

The taunting (monsoon) weather shows no mercy here! In drying monsoons, I’ve struggled with tangled, dry hair no matter how well I condition it. Oil massage (with my favorite MABH formula) + hair wash routine twice a week helps a lot however, there are these oh-so-lazy days weeks when I SKIP oiling! I had been hospitalized lately and completely skipped oiling for more than a week. It has been more than week (or even 10 days?) since I oiled and washed my hair! I was in free hair and loose braids all the time.

So what it gifted me in return? Dry, rough and stupid hair! (Refer the pics) I literally cry when I get bad hair days because dryness causes split ends and breakage, resulting slow hair growth! (When your hair breaks, it takes forever to grow out!)

Though getting back to an oiling routine helps, it takes a week or two to get back that shiny lovable hair! But hey.. I found a new trick (all natural) to repair the dehydrated and damaged hair in a day! I am following it for few months now with very satisfactory results. It is the coconut-rose hair mask I make at home!! Its a spa like home treatment which costs you very less – but amazes you with great results – Naturally! I tried it yesterday as my health is getting better. So I thought I would share the process and pictures with you all! :)

P.S: If you are following MABH regularly, you might be already knowing that I am going to color my hair today! I’ll be sharing the tutorial and photos tomorrow. Hence, I thought a good home spa treatment before coloing would protect my hair. Now that I am going to color my hair, I can flaunt it with all the shine!

Hair Fall Control Hair Wash Powder Recipe & SLS, Paraben, Silicone Free Shampoo List

natural hair wash powder diy steps

“Which shampoo should I use with MABH Fast Growth Hair Oil?”

I’ve been asked this question over 1000 times literally in the last 6 months! I know I am very late posting this article; (I can hear you all bashing at me inside your head) I really apologize to everyone of you for the delay! Lately I have been both busy and ill. :( The bad weather and some personal worries took a toll on me and I had been very depressed and gloomy. I Now that I am getting better, I am sharing this post will you all with a list of SLS and paraben free shampoos I collected.

Hair Wash Powder Recipe – Alternative to Shampoos:

Before you go through the list, I would like to suggest a natural alternative to your regular shampoo. It is a non lathering, powdered hair cleanser, but still a NATURAL recipe. It doesn’t contain SLS, paraben, silicone or something harsh. And gives you fabulous results if used regularly. If you can adjust with the non-lathering factor, go ahead and try the recipe at home. I’ve mentioned about our hair wash powder in my mom’s hair growth journey post. Its not the exact recipe because we add many herbs and other ingredients to the actual one to increase its effectiveness, as it is a long (costly!) process. Now what I share is the a base recipe of it. It works good too! (Its VERY much better than the lathering shampoos) It is easy to make and you can do it yourself in minutes.

Ingredients Needed:
  • 100 gm dried shikakai
  • 50 gm dried green gram
  • 50 gm fenugreek

How to Make?

Dry the ingredients in sunlight for 5-6 hours. And finely grind them all together! The process is over. If you want a more finer powder (which is more easy to rinse off) then you can sieve the powder and store it in an air tight container. You can also prepare it in huge quantities but make sure you use it within 6 months. My mom told me she used this powder for years from her childhood and they used to make it in kilograms for their big family. So try it at home and let me know how it worked. If you are a lazy lass, then wait for me to put up the more effective ‘herbal’ hair wash powder for sale on our site :) It is an improved version, with herbs and hair growth, hair softening ingredients present in it!

P.S: You have to mix the prepared powder (shikakai, green gram, fenugreek mixture) with curd/milk and two drops of any pure oil (optional; do this only if you have dry hair). If you have heavily oiled your hair, you should do two rinses with it. I always do two rinses with my hair wash powder if I oil my hair. For my classic length hair, I use 2-3 heaped teaspoons if I oil and only 2 teaspoons on non-oiled hair. It controls hair fall, cleanses hair thoroughly, reduces dandruff, promotes hair growth and makes hair shinier with regular usage. My 56 Year Old Mom’s Classic Length Hair Journey – Her Hair Routine and Photos

Hello everybody!

Guess what? Today I got a chance to click my mom’s classic length hair! :) It was a tough task for me to make her okay with it. She is very shy about me publishing something like this on the blog :P However, I BADLY wanted to share the photos of her hair and her hair care routine with you all as I’ve been receiving quite a lot of mails about it everyday! Most of you already know how I take care of my hair and what I do for my hair. (If not, go to my one year hair care journey post) So in this post, I am sharing what my mom does for her hair on regular basis. i.e her own natural hair care routine!

Before that, I would like to let you know something, though its already on the title. My mom is 56 years old (1958 born) and she has a dark black wavy-straight Indian hair. She has a classic length hair and she gets a hair trim every 6 months. (Which I hate!) I hardly find 2-3 grays in her hair (She never uses hair color); otherwise her hair is black, thick and shiny and I ENVY it.

My Hair Fall Control Story – Hair Routine and Products I Used

my current hair length

Hello everyone,

I am very excited that I am going to share my hair care regime with you. This is the first time that I am writing anything about my hair. I am glad that MABH has given me this wonderful opportunity and this platform where I can share my hair care routine with you people and will get a chance to know about yours. Before moving further, I would like to give a short intro about my hair.

My Hair Type:

My hair used to be thick, straight, and shiny while I was in school. Once I entered the college, it started losing its shine, I started facing severe hair fall. The sudden increase in the hair fall became the most important problem of my life. I was thinking that if it will continue like this, I’ll soon lose all my hair and become bald. But then after reading lots of magazine and doing lots of google search, I changed my hair care regime. For knowing what new changes I induced in my life and what were the results, keep reading further.
