My Current Skin Care Routine : November 2017

Hey, people! As you might know, I’ve just started paying attention to my skin after long months and I mentioned the same in my previous post. Today, I shall be sharing my current skin care routine along with a little information on what supplements I’ve been taking lately! I’m yet to do major skin care shopping (planned!) so for now, I’m taking care of my skin with the stuff I already own!

my current skincare routine

Morning Routine: As soon as I wake up, I wash my face with Lakme Blush and Glow Peach Creme face wash (still searching for something more hydrating) and then I put on my Johnson’s baby lotion. It is light; gets absorbed quickly and prevents my skin from getting dry. If it’s a cold day, I go for a slightly heavier moisturizer – like Nivea soft light moisturizer or Olay moisturizer; I dab it evenly all over my face and neck.

Since I don’t go out during the daytime, I don’t wear a sunscreen these days. But I’ve traveling plans lined up so you can expect me to write about a variety of sunscreens and sunblocks in coming days!

Evening: I’ve been going out these days in the evenings and I really am afraid of exposing my skin in this polluted locality right after I wear my moisturizer since that can attract a lot of dust. So I prefer a slightly matte look whenever I plan to ride my two-wheeler. I use the same Lakme Blush and Glow face wash and put on the baby lotion. This time, I top it up with the Vicco Turmeric skin cream. It subtly mattifies my skin without making it dry. Again, if the weather is cold, I prefer a heavier moisturizer beneath the Vicco turmeric!

I am in no mood for makeup these days so I just wear a bindi, put on my lip balm (Nivea!) and I’m all set to go. (Sometimes, I dust my L’Oreal fallible infallible compact over the layers of moisturizers; but it happens very rarely. I do it only if the weather turns humid.)

Night: No matter how tired I feel, I don’t go to sleep without cleansing my skin properly. I hadn’t been moisturizing it for so long; that’s another thing. But starting from this week, I’m not skipping my moisturizer even once. I cleanse my face with the same face wash (I sometimes use the Himalaya Orange Tan Removal Face Wash) and apply the Glyco 6 Glycolic Acid cream (6%) (I’ll be reviewing it soon!) It has been only a few days since I started using it but I already feel like it’s working on my skin. The dryness around the corners of my nose is 80% gone. I’ll keep you guys updated on this!

Exfoliation: Since my skin is already getting treated with glycolic acid, I’m being extra cautious about physical exfoliating. Once in two days, I use the Himalaya Herbals gentle exfoliating walnut scrub. It makes my skin smooth and flakes off the dead skin cells effectively. It is a decent scrub. But I’m still eyeing for a better one; something more hydrating for this weather.

Supplements: I take 1000mg Vitamin C with my breakfast and dinner and that comes to 2000 mg vitamin C a day (Brand – Celin). For me, it works the best! I love how my skin feels on Vitamin C. It tightens my skin and makes it look healthier. I also take a 400 mg Vitamin E (Brand – Evion) pill at night. To control excessive body heat and keep heat pimples at bay, I take a Besocules B complex capsule along with my other supplements. (Did I tell you it also helps hair?)

I’m yet to include biotin to my routine (for hair) but I’ll be doing it soon! I’ll also be including the Grapeseed extract supplement from ZN from next week. It’s an antioxidant meant for overall health and skin! Can’t wait to see how it detoxes my skin. And yes, this time, I’m going to be regular with my supplements!

supplements

So that’s it for today’s post. The weather is turning cold here in Chennai and so I believe I’ll be changing my face cleansers and moisturizers within a fortnight. I’ll be adding a few more skincare products as well – Like a face mist. I’ll update another (proper) routine here in 2-3 weeks! Stay tuned.
