Hello, beautiful ladies!
Eye shadows are so fascinating, aren’t they? The different colours, textures, shimmers make them so unique and attractive! One of the most attractive ranges of eye shadows available in India are the Lakme 9 to 5 Eye Color Quartet. Today I will be reviewing the shade ‘Desert Rose’ from their Quartet range!
The packaging is as always wonderful. It comes in a beige pink cardboard cover with the details written on front and back side. The ‘Lakme 9 to 5’’font has a gradient colour which is the most appealing! The backside has the directions and the price. The product packaging (palette) has a golden beige colour and the cover on the top is transparent.
The palette has four shades, Golden Beige, Pink beige, Copper, and Rich metallic brown. And all of them are shimmery and fabulous! The two lighter shades (Golden beige and Pink beige) are suitable for everyday use and for highlighting your eyes. And the darker shades (Copper and Metallic brown) are suitable for festivals, weddings, parties, etc. You can use one shade or three at a time! This palette is the best to create smokey eyes.
The pigmentation is dark, (intense!) unlike some other brand where the eye shadow needs to be applied many times. You can’t expect it to stay all day long but if away from heat, dirt and sunlight, then it can stay up to 8 hours. And if used with an eye shadow primer, then it can stay for more longer! The colour usually lightens a bit with time but the sparkle stays.
For me, the price was a bit too much. It seems to be expensive but at last the quality needs to be considered. It won’t actually give you rashes or annoying pimples on your eyelids like some eye shadows do. Plus as we all know Lakme is a reputed brand known for their good quality cosmetics.
Now you don’t need to compromise with taking your makeup anywhere because this eye shadow comes handy and can fit perfectly in your purse and you can take it wherever you want!
The only thing I am disappointed with after using this product is that the rich metallic brown shade and the copper don’t provide any difference, instead they quite look the same when applied. (You can refer to the image below)
In the image, I used the golden shade as well on the area under the eyebrow but it was less visible. Moreover, I find that the pink shade has no job since it is really light when applied, it only works to add some shimmer. The metallic brown is more useful and gives my eyes an attractive look. The pigmentation of lighter shades are much less and fades away with time!
Price : Rs.600/- for 7 g; Buy : Amazon.in
Rating : 3/5
Overall to me, this eye shadow is average! I don’t look forward to purchase it again. I don’t recommend you to buy it because the two light shades are of almost no use. And the price is a bit high for a product like this!
