DIY Mustard Ubtan For Glowing, Smooth Skin & Stretch Mark Removal : Tutorial

Hello everyone!

This is my debut post at MABH and I thank Lancy for this opportunity! We keep on the hits and misses with skincare and cosmetics. But one thing that we always come back to is a DIY (Do It Yourself recipes). No matter how much we splurge on high-end skincare products, once in a while we love pampering ourselves with absolute ‘desi’ recipes. The best part of this home-made goodness is that the ingredients are right there in our kitchen. All we need to know is how and why to use them.

I am going to tell you how to make ubtan to get glowing skin in no time! Over the time, ubtans have lost their charm and are only used in some parts of India and Pakistan. The biggest misconception people have about this wonderful DIY is that it is restricted to pre-bridals. Yes, no doubt brides-to-be are conscious enough to take time out for spas and DIY recipes. But is that the only time they want that gorgeous glow on their face and neglect it rest of their lives? Ubtan is a basic mix of any flour and water. It is up to us how luxurious we can make this by adding other ingredients that are good for the skin.

The ubtan recipe given below doesn’t require any expertise and can be prepared by the most common ingredients in our kitchen. However if we consider the results, it is anytime better than those big bucks we spend at the spas. This is so effective that you’ll never have to spend thousands on pre-bridal packages!

yellow mustard seeds

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour – 2 tespoons
  • Mustard Oil – 1 teaspoon
  • Yellow mustard seeds – 1 spoon
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/4th spoon

turmeric powder

wheat flour

Recipe

First up, grind the mustard seeds into coarse scrub-like texture. Add all the other ingredients) turmeric, wheat flour and mustard oil) in a clean bowl along with the coarsely ground mustard seeds. Mix well into a loosely bound. The ubtan is ready to use!

Usage: Starting from the feet, rub this ubtan in the opposite direction of hair growth. Repeat the same for other parts of the body. Once you have applied it to the whole body, wet every part with little water and scrub rigorously with both hands in circular motion for at least 5 minutes. Let it dry for some time and then scrub it off completely without using water. It is better not to use any soap or body wash after removing the ubtan. Take a hot shower and pat dry with a soft cotton towel.

Notes : The ubtan may fall off, but that’s okay until the skin has received it! You may add a little milk to bind it and make it easy for you to apply.

Benefits : This ubtan recipe gives an instantly smooth skin. It reduces stretch marks on prolonged usage and stimulates the lymph flow in the body. The ubtan not only improves the skin texture but also improves your blood circulation thus adding a a natural glow to the skin. If used regularly, it can clear your marks and scars. Other than the skin care benefits, this ubtan also tones, relaxes the muscles; and act as a anti aging therapy for your body!
