I really like almond oil a lot because firstly, it suits my hair. One more thing is that almonds and the oils extracted from them are insanely good for our overall health! It is used for different reasons by people – for health, skin, hair and many other things.
Today, I’m reviewing the Dabur Almond Hair Oil. I bought this one since it is from Dabur and also because I was looking for an almond oil for my hair and found this at the store!
The oil comes in a huge glass bottle with a plastic golden colored flip cap. The packaging makes it easy to use! It looks golden yellow and little muddy (because of the vegetable oil I guess). It has a scent like fragrance and a little bit vegetable oil like smell too. The scent like fragrance might be strong for some people but, it won’t bother you if you’re going to wash your hair after applying it. You can try the smaller pack of 100 ml first. Packaging is okay, not so impressed with it. Of course, you cannot carry it while travelling. Careful handling is required as it is a glass bottle.
I bought it first time few months back and I am still using it. I massage my hair with this oil before taking bath or sometimes I apply it at night and wash my hair the next day! Few times, I have mixed it with coconut oil as well. I do use mix different oils to nourish my hair. While washing my hair, this oil comes off easily compared to the other thick oils.
Also, I have used it on my face and hands for a massage before using the scrub and it softens my skin and protects it from abrasive particles present in the scrub! (I shall be sharing my favorite DIY scrub recipes soon!)
Overall, it is just an okay product for me. I didn’t like the vegetable oil smell and hence I checked the ingredient list to check what’s in it. I found out that it has vegetable oil and mineral oil too which are not considered good. The product also claims about Almond Protein Ester in the ingredient list. I haven’t faced any hair fall due to this oil but haven’t seen any extra ordinary results too. But, I can use it because I didn’t notice anything harsh or harmful effect on my skin or hair. The vegetable oil smell is a turn off for me; everything else is just okay!

I am not sure if I will buy this oil next time! Despite of presence of Almond Protein it didn’t do much to my hair so, if another option is not available for almond oil or if I am bored using the same brand oil then, I might buy it again.
It’s a Dabur product and hence t is easily available in India at most of the shops. Availability won’t be an issue. It has a 3 year shelf life! In case you forget after buying this oil and not aware that it exist in your drawer then, don’t worry it won’t be wasted. You can still use it in your homemade beauty recipes!
