Ingredients:

Rose Petals : Read roses are what would be required for this recipe. The natural colour that directly comes from this natural ingredient rose adds a prepossessing tinge of pink/red without having any harsh effect. So, the next time you get those pretty flowers, don’t let them wilt. Put it to wise use!

Malai/Milk cream : Malai is the layer of cream that deposits on top of milk when milk is boiled and let to cool. That is what we need for this DIY. Malai works to deeply nourish our skin, including our lips and also improve its texture.

Glycerin : Glycerin is a wondrous humectant which helps in moisturizing skin. It is a natural cooling liquid which soothes our lips.It possesses the tendency to attract water to the skin. It also helps to circulate oxygen in skin cells. The oxygen circulation increases blood flow, which in turn makes the lips lucent.

Almond oil : By the virtue of being very high in Vitamin E, almond oil is an excellent emollient and lubricator for dry skin, particularly dry lips.

Procedure:

– In a clean and dry bowl, add pounded rose petals, a tbsp of malai/milk cream and a tsp each of almond oil and glycerine.

– Mix them well and apply a generous amount on your lips. It will take around 20-25 minutes to dry up completely. Wash off and apply a lip balm to seal in the moisture. Use daily. Regular use will lighten your lip’s pigmentation besides softening them!

  1. Excellent DIY recipe, Nupur! :)

I’ve two rose plants at my garden but they produce orange flowers! I guess this recipe should use those ones called ‘Panneer roses’. (the ones used in the preparation of rose water!) Nevertheless, I shall give this a try as soon as possible! Sounds like a luxurious lip pack for sure. Loved the images!

    1. I’m glad you liked it, Lancy. You can try with the orange ones too. The reason is that the colour of the roses should do away woth the pigmentation. I can’t vouch for the orange ones because pink is trued and tested and also looks natural on lip. But anyway, share the results once you try it :)
Once again, thank you for the appreciation :)

    1. Hi Yasmin :)
First of all, thank you for reading my article. And secondly, the pink tinge isn’t permanent. It’s a temporary lip stain. Depending on the frequency of usage, it leaves a more noticeable and relatively long lasting tinge. The essential point is moisturisation which the other ingredients help one acheive.

  2. Hi all, i have dark spots on face but highly on nose and recently had acne scars on my cheeks. my problem is so worse now i am using roopmantra fairness cream and didn’ t give me any results. am allergic to honey please suggest a good skin care regime to fade off those spots.

    1. Hey Mariyam :) Thanks for going through my post. It took close to 4 weeks to remove 75% of pigmentation off my lips. That’s legit. Natural remedies take up time, so one needs to be consistent and patient.

  3. Lancy, have I told you how sweet you are? Thank you for the beautiful comment you left on my blog… I just wanted to let you know I write about once a week, usually on Sundays due to the fact that I follow so many blogs as well, I am a mama and I work. I would love to write more but at the moment I don’t have that time xox
