Himalaya Herbals Acne n Pimple Cream Review

Hello, people! I’m reviewing an acne cream today from one of my very favorite herbal brands – ‘Himalaya Herbals’. I remember using this product a couple of years ago but it t used to come in a pink-white tube. I was surprised to see this orange one on the store recently. Since I loved the previous one, I was curious to test the new formula and it ended up in my cart.

My Views

The acne cream comes in a simple, yet sturdy tube with an outer carton. Except for the packaging, nothing has changed in it and it impressed me actually. I somehow disliked their new ‘fairness cream’ after they improved the formula. It has turned more pink and it applied to this ‘white’ cast finish whereas the previous one just helped mattifying my skin without altering the tone of it! I love products that helps my skin without trying to make it ‘pale’ or ‘white’. Sigh! So coming to this acne product, the formula is almost unchanged, as far as I can notice.

The cream is very light taupe in color; it has a thick, paste-like consistency. Soon as I apply it on to my skin, I blend it well as to avoid it settling in patches (It doesn’t though; I do this with heavy creams always!) It instantly mattifies my skin and provides a neat finish. Goodness is that it does NOT leave a white cast which is rare when it comes to Indian ‘creams’ those always target the skin lightening theme. (However, you need to blend this real fast if you live in colder areas, keeping in mind it’s a thick cream and it doesn’t blend easily like lotions do!)

Though being matte, it feels slightly ‘heavy’ on my skin so I won’t call it a light cream. I also won’t call it a moisturizing cream either since it does not provide any moisture to my skin. (Perfect for summers! But mind you, it doesn’t help with oil control!) It may not work well in winters though (I’ve a normal-sensitive skin that gets oily in hot weather; drier on winters). I’m used to this product and hence I don’t bother feeling it on my facial skin. Since I use it mostly at nights, it does not bother me a bit to be precise.

Coming to the effectiveness, YES! It dries out acne. I’m not experiencing severe acne bouts now but it helped me dry out a couple of my heat bumps. I concentrated more on them during the application and the next morning, they visibly were less severe! So if you’ve any red, fleshly acne that doesn’t budge to go away, this product would be a good deal for you.

Overall, I find this cream good! The quality is just so good at this dirt-cheap price! If used the right way, it helps to reduce the severity of your acne. It also helps in preventing new breakouts, if used regularly.

I also find so many good herbal ingredients at the back cover so I’d definitely stick to this product for a long time! I’m not sure if I will be using it on my face on a regular basis but I’ll surely use it on my breakouts to dry them out.

If you’ve an extra dry skin, I suggest you to use it over your regular moisturizer.

  1. Lancy, I have not heard of this brand… I am not sure it is sold her in Canada.. I like products that help to rid of redness and acne… especially if you can wear it under your make up xox

  2. I remember using this but sadly I did not see any difference in my acne. :(
Maybe I should use it how you used- concentrating more on the breakouts.
