I am Neelima from Delhi – NCR (Noida).
I am looking forward to order the oil and try it for the first time. Apart from that could you please guide me which shampoo and conditioner should I use as I have dry frizzy and curly hair. I am facing lot of issues like excessive hair fall, dandruff, premature greying, no hair growth, roughness, dullness, dryness and frizziness. Apart from the oil could you suggest anything else too like hair packs etc. looking forward to your guidance.
Thanks for writing to me!
Coming to your query – Choose a mild shampoo and conditioner that SUIT you hair/scalp type. This is what I suggest to anyone because everyone’s hair reacts differently to different products! The shampoo shouldn’t make your scalp dry/itchy. That’s the main thing! Itchiness/scalp allergies/dryness can lead to hair loss! If possible, try using shikakai; if it doesn’t suit you, go for mild shampoos as I suggested earlier. Same with the conditioner, as well. For dry hair, moisturizing shampoos/conditioners should be chosen as to not rip off all the natural oils from your scalp.
Make sure the conditioner NEVER touches your scalp! It is very important. I use my homemade hair wash powder (with DIY conditioners!) and hence cannot suggest you any particular brand of shampoo. I don’t use store bought shampoos/conditioners anymore. (You can refer the reviews online though!) I’m planning to put the hair wash powder up for sale soon but I’m afraid if people would be interested in trying it out since it doesn’t foam much like chemical-based shampoos that we get in the market. Nevertheless, the hair wash powder I make (with reetha, shikakai, hibiscus etc!) works great on my hair and we’ve been using it for generations. I’ll surely announce it on the blog if I plan to sell it!
For your hair issues such as dandruff, hair fall and graying – please go through the attached document fully. (I’m emailing it to you!) I’ve shared my complete hair care routine + listed out my own hair care ideas to fix hair problems in a more natural way! (with simple hair care and lifestyle tweaks)
If you feel your hair is never growing, I highly suggest you to read this post! It will definitely help you.
Your hair type needs extra nourishment to achieve the shine. Try oiling your hair twice to thrice a week if possible! And never use heat tools on your hair.
Please don’t forget to come back and share with me the hair growth progress once you start following the right routine! You surely should notice a positive difference if you follow things rightly! For dry hair, I suggest homemade hair masks; something like this! A curd + lemon (+ few drops of coconut oil) mask should work equally good!
P.S: Other than hair masks, you can simply use a DIY hair spray to tame down the frizz. Mix few drops of pure almond oil (not the scented ones you get in the market!) with a cup of pure rose water. Fill it up in a spray bottle, shake well and use it as a detangling hair spray! This spray not only makes your hair shiny but also defines the curls!
