L’Oreal Paris Infallible 24H Reno Powder Foundation : Review, Usage Instructions, FOTD

Hello everybody!

After sharing my views on the L’Oreal Paris Reno Liquid foundation, I’m reviewing the press powder from the same range today! This also has been one of my very favorite makeup products lately. I use it combined with the foundation for heavy, full coverage looks and use it in light hand for daily-wear. It works both ways!!

Price : Rs.1250

My Views:

The press powder comes in a neat plastic case with a see through top lid and a separate compartment for the applicator sponge. The sponge is of very good quality but I recommend a good powder foundation brush if you want a light, even coverage. If you are not a newbie, you can straight away try the product with the sponge.

The powder has a lovely satin finish which makes it easier to work on the skin. It also stays that way on my skin for a long time! I’ve always hated the finish of matte powder foundations on my skin. They take away the glow and shine and leave behind a blunt boring matte finish. With this product, I never faced such thing. It goes smoothly over my skin, covering most of the imperfections and gives an instant healthy glow!

The coverage is medium and slightly less compared to that of the liquid foundation from the range; however it manages to cover most of my spots if used wet. It also sets easily and stays longer when used wet. The average staying power is 8-10 hours after which it fades slightly (still covering the imperfections since it doesn’t melt or crease) however, it used wets it stays even longer before fading away from your skin. Even though it stays longer, touch ups are necessary if you have an extremely oily skin/like in a humid place.

You can notice in the picture below how the foundation/press powder hadn’t changed the natural tone of my skin. (I hate white-y makeup on my dark-dusky skin!) Instead, it provides a healthy coverage! It covers my chickenpox marks up to a great extent. The mark on my cheek is barely visible after the application.

How do I use it?

Powder foundations are boon for oily skin types! If used the right way, they can make your skin gleam. I use this foundation in 3 ways – mild coverage, full coverage and wet. To achieve a fresh skin apply a thin coat of this powder after moisturizing your face. It looks mild; apt for daily wear! To achieve a full coverage (dry), apply thin coats till you achieve the right finish. Do not over-apply the foundation on the first coat to avoid patchiness. Multiple thin layers will do!

Using it wet is the best way to make it stay longer. For this, I use the sponge that comes with the product! Sorry that I couldn’t click it however, it is of very good quality. After applying the wet foundation, I let it dry and set it with a dry coat! If used with the liquid foundation from the same range, it gives a brilliant coverage that looks very natural on my skin!

before and after

Here’s the full coverage picture! As the first layer, I’d used the foundation wet. And topped it with a thin dry layer using a compact brush. It sets really well and stays fresh for a long time!

Overall, this is one of the best powder foundations I’ve tried till date! Just with a moisturizer beneath or along with a liquid foundation, it works great any way! Good thing is that – the number of shades that it comes in! You can easily find your match; even if not, a closest match can be worked with your other base makeup products.

Thankfully, the powder foundation did not look white/ashy on my dusky skin! Though the shade ‘Warm sand’ I got is slightly lighter for my skin tone, it managed to look natural on me! I highly recommend this powder foundation to anyone who is looking for a natural matte finish, with good coverage, which also stays longer!
