Ethicare Remedies Haul : Photos and First Impressions

Hey people!

I recently hauled some skin care products from Ethicare Remedies, which is one of the very trusted brands suggested by dermatologists. I picked the products from their ‘skin lightening’ range this time. Though I’m not someone who’s into skin lightening, I wanted these so badly as I want to get rid of my leftover chickenpox marks as fast as possible! They are already gone by 90% but I want to get rid of them all to get back my clear skin!

I also want to vanish my uneven-even tan caused due to swimming for a long time in chlorinated water under the sun! (At Kishkinta, Chennai. Never going there again!) I’ve already started using a couple of products from my haul and they are reacting good. Today, I’m sharing my haul and photos with you!

Products I got

Ethilgo Skin Whitening Deep Cleansing Facial Foam: As much as I love mild face washes in winters/spring, I’ll want one with a foaming capacity to cope up with the summer! I hope this will fulfill the needs of my skin in this humid summer-monsoon weather. The product to deep cleanse the skin and reduce the blemishes by lightening them. I spotted Kojic acid, Vitamin C, Salicylic acid, Vitamin E and Liquirice extracts on the ingredient list!

Price : Rs.220 for 70 g

Kozilite Non Oily Skin Lightening Lotion : The product claims to lighten and brighten skin with its botanical formula! Since it says ‘UV’ proctection, I suppose it can be used during the day as well! (Keeping in mind most of the lightening creams should be used only on evenings!). This lotion can be used both on face and body. The ingredient list is pretty big; other than the chemical names, I spotted ‘carrot oil’ and ‘citric acid’ on the list. I’d start using it very soon to fade away the pox marks on my body! I read somewhere it is best to treat them within year so that they don’t turn into permanent marks.

Price : Rs.299 for 50 g; Rs.499 for 100 g

Kozimax Skin Lightening Cream : This is a ‘kojic acid’ based skin lightening cream! I’ve read so many good things about kojic acid on how it is milder compared to the other harsh skin lightening products. It helps to get even skin tone; The product also contains Vitamin C as the main ingredient!

Price : Rs.180 for 9 g; Rs.285 for 15 g

Kozilite Skin Lightening Cream : This is another skin lightening cream but with ‘Hydroquinone’ in it. To be honest, I have always had this fear of using hydroquinone on my skin as I’d read mixed reviews on it! Though it is not meant to be used regularly on your skin, it is an EXCELLENT dark spot remover! I’ve heard people raving about it.

It vanishes a blemish like anything else. Dermatologists always prescribe hydroquinone based creams to treat pigmentation and melasma. However, one should use it very VERY carefully to obtain the results without side effects. Anything that contains this ingredient should be used during evenings/nights and a heavy SPF formula should be used during the day as the hydroquinone turns your skin photo sensitive. (It is best to wear a sunscreen even if you are staying indoors; at least for a month after you stop the usage!)

The product claims to lighten skin tone and remove blemishes faster with its formula. It also contains kojic acid and glycolic acid which are other effective skin lightening ingredients!

For now, I am thinking to try this cream as a ‘spot treatment’ on my stubborn marks. If my skin accepts it, I’d figure out how else to use it! I highly suggest you to talk to your dermatologist before buying a hydroquinone based product.

Price : Rs.295 for 20 g

Ethilgo Skin Whitening Deep Cleansing Soap : The soap comes in a small carton; and it claims to contain kojic acid, glycolic acid and soap noodles! Currently I’m trying out some lovely smelling handmade bathing bars! Once I empty them, I’ll give this a try! As it contains kojic acid, I’m having high hopes on it! If anything helps to fade my marks and tan away, I’d be extremely happy because they are my only skin concerns now!

Price : Rs.78

Ethilgo Glowing Skin Whitener Tablets : This is a Glutothione supplement meant to brighten your skin tone! I’ve read a lot about it on Japanese/Korean beauy blogs but this is the first time I’m going to try it on myself. I don’t expect it to alter the nature tone of my skin; but I’d be happy if it does improve the texture and glow by removing the uneven patches/tan. It is mentioned on the pack to consume the tablets with citrus juices; I’d read somewhere Glutathione works best with Vitamin C. (I’m thinking to pop a Vitamin C pill every time I take this).

The product should be consumed after consulting with your physician only. I’m waiting waiting to visit mine before starting to include this to my routine! I’d definitely do a separate post on it soon.

Price : Rs.780 for 10 tabs

Though I don’t prefer skin lightening/whitening products  most of the time, I guess these should help me now to treat my pox marks/blemishes when they are still new not-so-old! Old chickenpox marks might stay permanently on the skin and I don’t think I should let it happen.

Morever, Ethicare Remedies is a 11 year old trusted brand that has been suggested by dermatologists, surgeons, and trichologists in India! I’d read very positive reviews on their products and hence, I am giving their lightening range a try! Can’t wait to see how the products work!

Do let me know on the comment section if you want me to review any particular product first!

  1. I have never heard about this brand, I read a lot related to skin care both in magazines and online, it’s surprising that I have never heard of this brand

  2. would love to see your review on Kozimax Skin Lightening Cream. my sister in law had a bad fall and got stitches, she’s worried about the scar. i already suggested one cream for her. She also has melasma. Let’s see your thoughts on this and i can recommend it to her. take your time.
Also, how much kojic acid is present in the cream?

    1. Hello CC,

I’m sorry to hear about that. Hope your SIL is doing fine now!

Not sure about the kojic acid % but I shall check and let you know soon. I’ve read mixed reviews about melasma; that should work for her. Suggest her to take lots of Vitamin C rich fruits or supplements. I heard it will help with the scar-fading soon! It really helped me to fade away my chickenpox scars.
