Supreet Kour’s Query:

Hey Lancy!

I have split ends and hair fall; and I want to grow my hair long! I just got your product and used it once so far. I am not taking any supplements as of now. Kindly suggest me a diet routine! I am dying to grow my hair long!

For cleansing my hair I am a mixture of using alma, shikakia and reetha. And I have included channa dal in my diet already.

Reply:

Hello Supreet,

Thanks for getting in touch! It is completely okay if you don’t take supplements for your hair. They are just optional. You can include protein, fresh vegetables and fruits to your diet to maintain a healthy, split-end free hair. I suggest you to eat eggs, soy beans and dal. Chicken and fish are good too!

Split ends are caused due to external damage; dehydration from inside may also be a reason. Check if your body heat is normal and balanced. Too much of body heat and malnutrition might also cause split ends. Drink adequate amount of water everyday. Regularize your oiling routine (at least thrice a week before hair wash if your split ends are severe!) and you’ll notice a difference very soon.

Kindly go through the MABH Fast Growth Hair Oil – Usage Instructions page to go through some essential hair care ideas from my own routine that you can incorporate in yours. You hair fall will be in check if you follow them.

Amla, shikakai and reetha are very good for your hair! Channa dal is great for both your hair and your health. Use the product as mentioned and you will notice new growth very soon!

My best wishes!

Dipi Sharma’s Query:

Hello to urself!

My name is Dipi Sharma. I am from Delhi. I read so many good things about your MABH hair oil. It seems like a miraculous potion. I would like to know if this oil works for thickening of hair as well. I am more concerned regarding thickness than length.

Please reply.
Thanks!

Reply:

Hello Dipi!

Thanks for your email. The product helps volumizing hair as well. Many users reported visible difference in volume just weeks after using the product! Make sure to use it as instructed on the blog. Make necessary diet/routine changes to get the most out of it! Click a picture of your hair now and compare it with a new one after 6-8 weeks. You’ll notice a difference if you follow the routine properly (along with the diet!).

My best wishes!

Meenu’s Query:

Hi Lancy!

Can you please tell me the brand of vitamin E oil and the rose petal powder you use for the homemade rose coconut hair spa?

Reply :

Hey Meenu! Thanks for writing to me.

– I use the Vitamin E oil my dad gets me from a local pharmacy. It is the ‘Emessa E Oil’. I also use the one extracted from ‘Evion 400 mg Vitamin E capsules’ at times. It works great as well!

– The rose petal powder is homemade! You can easily make it with fresh paneer rose petals by drying and grinding them! If not, you can get the same from your nearest ayurvedic store. You can easily find one in a busy market!

Don’t forget to share with me your feedback once you try the mask! All the best!

Surya Jolly’s Query:

Hi Lancy! :)

Thanks a lot for starting and keeping up this blog. This has been my problem solver blog ever since I chanced upon it. Currently I have a query regarding sesame oil. Does it increase hair fall when applied during summer? Because.. on days when I apply this fenugreek infused sesame oil overnight , I lose a lot of hair when I wash it off the next morning. I tried many blogs and websites to see if anyone had a similar experience and I did not find it in our blog also. That when I thought of writing to you.

Please don’t bother even if you don’t find an answer. I just thought of sharing this with you. Tc! :)

Give my hi to ur mom also for coming up with MABH!

Regards,
Soorya Jolly

Hello Surya!

Thank you so much for your kind words!

I don’t think sesame oil causes hair fall – be it summer or winter. It is actually good for your hair as it moisturizes the hair and balances the body heat! The oil is very popular here in south India. I use it a lot to make pickles and they taste great! Mom says it’s very healthy too compared to the regular cooking oils.

Sometimes, oiling can itself make you feel like losing your more of your hair as hair sheds a bit more during oil massage. This does NOT mean that the oil is causing the hair fall but the hair strands that are about the shed anyway (at the end of their growth cycles) come off when you massage the scalp! They are going to shed anyway and the massage stimulates the process which is again, not a bad thing. But make sure you are gentle during the massage as too much of pressure can weaken the roots – thus causing hair fall.

The visible shed also happens during shampooing and even more during shampooing after an oil massage. I experience the same too and I am sure that is not hair fall but just the natural hair shed that everyone else experiences! So don’t be worried.

However if you are still not convinced or if the hair fall is severe only with that particular hair oil, you can switch to something else as sometimes something can be allergic to you.

My best wishes!

Benaifer Vatcha’s Query:

Hi Lancy,

How are you? Hope you are in the pink of health. I had a query with respect to my hair. I am 32 years old and have already started getting a lot of grey hair. I have tried both mehendi (henna) and hair colour. But both have their drawbacks. With henna I end up getting a red tint on my hair which I don’t like. With hair colour grey hair soon becomes visible. I am really tired. I have many family functions to attend. Please advise me I am really looking for your good herbal and natural process. I have, with my friends also tried your face pack and hair spa and they are wonders!

Awaiting your advise for my hair problem.

Regards,
Benaifer

Reply:

Hello Benaifer!

First of all, I apologize for the delayed reply.

Causes of grey hair can be many! It can be either a simple hereditary problem or a nutrition deficiency. If you want to hide your grey strands naturally, I suggest using indigo. Have you ever tried it? I’ve seen people raving about it! It should be used along with the henna to achieve a natural black hair color. Store bought hair colors often contain harmful chemicals and I don’t suggest them unless they claim to be ammonia-free. It is still not advisable to use them regularly.

If you are using the MABH product currently, continue using it. It will definitely help you gradually to darken the grey strands! My mom is 58 and I can find no more than 2-3 strands of grey strands in her head. She has been using the formula for years!

Feel free to get in touch. My best wishes!

Keerthana Nagireddy’s Query:

Hi Lancy!

I am from Nellore, Andra Pradesh and I’ve a skin query! My facial skin is not responding to anything these days. Not to skin care cosmetics, vitamin supplements, face packs or even to a tomato face pack. what can be wrong? I have a dusky-dark complexion but face area gets even more dark these days. Please help me out!

Reply:

Hello Keethana!

Thanks for getting in touch. Have you recently (in the last few months!) used any skin-lightening/dermatologist prescribed product on your skin? Like hydroquinone, retinol or a steroid? Few harmful chemicals in them can make the skin addictive to them, super-sensitive, especially photo-sensitive. In such cases, nothing actually works till the bad reactions fade away. Instead of using tomato, you can use calming fruits on your skin to help it heal faster. I recommend a banana-honey face mask or simply use milk.

If that is not the case and your skin is not reacting to anything even if you hadn’t used lightening/anti-pigmentation/bleach products in the recent past, then try wearing a sun screen. Regularize your CTM routine. Include healthy foods! Sudden dullness may be due to sun exposure or dehydration from outside and inside. Drink lots of fluid and moisturize your skin regularly after cleansing it! Use natural products as much as possible.

My best wishes!

Shaqeeq Shahiq’s Query

Hey Lancy!

I’m a teenage boy aged 17.  I had a light skin when I was small and as I grew up, my skin darkened. Could you give me any ideas on getting back my natural light skin? I’m okay with creams and home-made remedies. Please reply me as soon as possible :)

Reply :

Hey Shaqeeq!

Thanks for your query! Had you tanned your skin by exposing it to sunlight? Riding a bike, playing cricket in the hot sun etc. can cause bad tan that will stay on your skin for a long time! If it is a new tan, it can be lightened by applying curd, gram flour and over the counter tan removal products. (Please don’t go for bleach! It makes your skin photosensitive thus causing more dullness!) However, if your tan is years’ old, it will take time and a good routine to fade away considerably. You will need to avoid sun totally or at least cover your skin under the skin to get your light skin back! Do use a cap and scarf when you step out in the sun.

For now, I suggest you to follow a good CTM routine and use a high SPF sunscreen. Use a mixture of gram-flour, curd and lime juice to fasten the process of tan removal. Prevent tan, follow a good routine and your skin will turn visibly back to normal in few months! And remember, any skin be it dark or light is attractive as long as it looks smooth and healthy!

My best wishes!

Ranjana’s Query:

Hi Lancy!

I’m Ranjana; I’m from Tirunelveli , Tamil Nadu. I came across your post on beauty blogging while searching ‘how to start a blog’. I had so many doubts but you cleared some important aspects. Now I want to know more about it; regarding how much it costs for blogging in Blogger? You’ve mentioned that it costs 8000 INR in WordPress.

Can I have a blog on WordPress for lesser price? Which host you are using in WordPress? I have read free blogging will make you lose your content someday. I am interested in starting a blog but don’t want to invest 8000 Rupees as of now. Maybe after a year but now I want to blog on a budget! Please help me.

Reply:

Hello Ranjana!

First of all, the cost of wordpress-hosting is not fixed. I use hostgator and the hosting plan costs me 8000 INR approx for a year! I pay $13/year for the domain separately. They have different plans and there are many other reliable hosting companies also! They can be less or more expensive with different features. At the end, I find wordpress blogging still expensive compared to the blogger-platform. Blogger is an equally great platform but with lesser options (plugins, editing, role maintenance, etc!). You are right about the content safety. It is BETTER with wordpress as you are buying your own hosting plan! Blogger gives you free space! Still, blogger by Google will most probably NOT remove your blog unless otherwise it violates their rule.

To be very honest, two of my blogs (that I’d when I was 16!) got deleted by Google for using images taken from some other websites! (I didn’t know about copyright, source and stuff when I started blogging!) But then I rectified my mistakes; I started MABH on the same blogger platform and did run it successfully for years before migrating it to wordpress. (I had reasons like – The content is more safe here; There are different plugins! WordPress is more compatible for mutli-author blogs!.. etc)

If you are very serious about blogging and are thinking to make it your profession, I’d personally recommend wordpress as migrating is a hassle later if you are not a techie! (I experienced this!) If you just want to give blogging a try to see whether it works, or if you are confident about maintaining a professional blog on blogger platform, I’d definitely recommend blogger as it is a Google’s product and the platform is more user-friendly for beginners! There are many successful, professional, high-quality bloggers out there who still use the blogger platform without any difficulties!

Coming to the cost in blogger, you can either use a abc.blogspot.com address (which will not cost you a penny for blogging!) or opt for a custom domain by paying only for the domain (no hosting fees!). You can purchase the domain from any online service and use the same for your blogger blog and start blogging!

Note : If you still want to blog in wordpress without shelling out huge bucks, there are free blogs in wordpress too!! However you can’t use a custom domain here without paying for the hosting. The free blogs (abc.wordpress.com) obviously come with lesser options! But again, you can buy the hosting and domain later! Blogger and WordPress both have their own advantages and disadvantages! Choice is yours!

My best wishes for your successful blogging journey!

Ekta’s Query:

Hey! I am Ekta. I am 42 years old and am suffering from hair fall and graying. Will the regular use of your oil make a difference and in how much time?

Reply :

Hello Ekta!

Kindly read the first query on this page! Go through the usage instructions and use the product as suggested. Time differs from person to person however you will start seeing visible differences in 6-8 weeks if you follow the routine/diet properly without fail!

For grey hair, I suggest natural indigo or ammonia-free hair colors that contain lesser chemicals. You can also use the MABH hair oil regularly to help your grey hair problem! It helps darkening your hair to your natural hair color.

All the best!

Jay’s Query:

Hey Lancy :)

I’m a big follower of your blog and I am a guy. Call me Jay!

I’d like to know which cream you recommend for dry hair in India like Parachute After Shower or Himalaya Protein Cream. Do also suggest me something for hair loss which I am suffering; I am only 20! Does the brand Khadi work better compared to Biotique bhringraj for Hair Regrowth for receding hairline?

Love your blog and the reviews you make!

Thank you and hoping a reply soon!

Reply :

Hello Jay!

Thanks for writing to me. For dry hair, I first of all suggest regular oiling. This will solve a good percentage of your problem! Give an oil massage 1-2 hours before EVERY hair wash; you will find the texture of your hair improving in no time! You can use oils (such as coconut, olive or other herbal oils..) that are not scented/colored.

Coming to the hair creams/gel, I’ve no idea to be honest! Himalaya Herbals is a good brand, but still I am not sure how that will help your dry hair! However, one thing I know for sure is that most of the hair styling products contain silicone and other harmful things that affect the health of your hair. So stay away from them as much as possible; even if you use them, avoid frequent usage!

About Khadi and Biotique – they both are well-known brands! Kindly refer the reviews online to know the efficiency of the products. For receding hairline, a good diet and hair care routine will help!

My best wishes!

Deeksha Balain’s Query:

Hey! Do you also use grape seed oil as an ingredient in the MABH hair oil?

Reply:

Hello Deeksha!

Thanks for your email. I don’t add grape seed oil to the product! :)
