Lately I caught myself shopping ‘often and repeatedly’ for no reason! What all I think about is ‘SHOPPING’ if I am bored, feeling low or anything you name it! Though not a healthy sign, I’d love to share with you all, what I haul now and then! Hence, starting this series today where I’ll be sharing my quick and random hauls with you!
Today, I am sharing about what all I got from a local drugstore when I was actually on the way to the hospital to get a checkup done for my flu! I visited the store just to buy some colored papers and flowers (to make attractive backgrounds for product photography) but I ended up picking all these random stuff that my eyes spotted! Believe me; a little shopping when you are sick makes you feel better!
Lacto Calamine Lotion: It is one of my very favorite skin care products since I’ve been using it now and then for a long time now! (5-6 years. May be?) I was introduced to Lacto calamine by my mom when I was 13, I suppose! I picked both the variants available; one is meant for ‘oil control‘ and another, ‘hydration’. I shall soon do a quick review on these lotions along with few new ideas to use them! (Calamine lotion benefits you in different ways!)
Johnson’s Baby Bathing Bars : Call me weird?! Okay. For some reason, I love baby products and the way they smell, a LOT! I keep picking them if I spot them on a store, or a mall or anywhere. I’ve previously tried the Johnson’s baby powders, Himalaya Herbals baby soaps and TOO many baby creams to name here! I love using baby creams as moisturizers. When I happened to notice these in the store, I purchased all the three variants (blossoms, milk, original)! Can’t wait to use them on my skin! However, I think I need to stick to a hydrating body wash till I see some sun here.
Nivea Soft Light Moisturizer : I picked this small tub to moisturize my cracked heels! You would be knowing how I don’t use a foot cream right now if you had read my current skin care routine. I wasn’t sure which one to pick and hence, settled for this one. I can now use this on my face, hands, knees and elbows too! If it fails to hydrate my feet properly, then I will get something more richer/creamier. There is nothing called too-many-moisturizers in winters!
Dove Bathing Bars : These used to be my favorite bathing bars when I was in school! I remember using this variant called ‘exfoliating bathing bar’ by Dove (It had micro blue scrubbing particles!) but sadly, I couldn’t find it anywhere now! So this time, I picked the variants ‘cream’ and ‘fresh moisture’. The fragrance reminds me of my school days! I may start using these bars once I empty all my body washes. Not sure if my skin would survive on ‘bathing bars’ as the weather here has been acting drier lately. Time to stock up some body butters!!
Dazller Moisturizing Foundation with Sunscreen: Due to the very cold weather, I’ve been struggling with applying makeup without getting it patchy! Only after layering a decent amount of moisturizer, I could even put on a compact. Hence, I got convinced to try this ‘moisturizing’ foundation for the word ‘moisturizing’! I am not sure how much it costs as the person billed everything together but I am sure it is very inexpensive! Since I’ve heard good things about the brand, I am not hesitating to try this! I picked the foundation in two shades (dark skin tone and all skin tone) as I was skeptical about how the product would match my skin tone! Will review them shortly.
ADS Eye and Lip Pencils : Honestly, I’ve picked them only out of curiosity. Again, I am not sure about the price but I suppose they are below 50 INR. which is super inexpensive for eye pencils. They claim to contain Vitamin A & E and also claim to be waterproof! I am not sure if I’ll be using them on my eyes as I am very selective when it comes to eye makeup products. (to avoid allergies) But I will definitely be using the black one on my brows. I’ve already used the pencil twice to do my eyebrows and for the price, the quality is quite good!
Fair and Lovely Pimple Off Face Wash : This is the first time I am seeing a pimple-care face wash from this brand! Seems like a newly launched one. However the product is definitely NOT going to touch my skin. I don’t want to use a lightening product on my skin, for the good. I picked it for my mom who loves this brand! She has been religiously using their winter fairness cream. Do let me know in the comment section if you want a review on this product; I will make my mom do it!
Mysore Sandal Gold Soap : Again, this is for my mom! I have used Mysore sandal soaps when I was a kid. But now, my skin needs something hydrating so I rarely use bathing bars. The gold variant costs 70 INR and claims to contain 80% TFM.
VCare Shampoo Hair Color : This is for my dad who wants to color his hair! He wanted a mess free hair color and I suggested him this shampoo like hair color as it says ‘No ammonia’. The L’Oreal Paris Creme Gloss has no ammonia too and I absolutely loved coloring my hair with it last year! (Tutorial HERE) however, my dad wanted a ‘quick’ product and that is how this got into my shopping bag. This product claims to color your hair in just 5 minutes. I got two packs!
Elle 18 Kajal and Clear Nail Polish : I like Elle 18 products for how budget friendly they are! Perfect for school-college goers. I’ve previously tried their black kajal and loved it; it used to come in bullet with a twist up bottom. The one I spotted this time was in pencil form and I instantly picked it! It is priced at 85 INR. And only now I realize it neither comes with a sharpener nor has a twist up bottom! How am I even supposed to sharpen the chubby pencil without a sharpener??!
I so wanted a clear nail enamel to protect my nails and for my french manicure sessions and hence got this! Now my sincere job is to grow out my nails, at least before my birthday! (The skin/hair/nail supplement I’ve been taking lately seems to harden my nails really well! Review coming up shortly)
Johnson’s Baby Oil : I picked this along with the baby soaps! It looked very clear and pure in the bottle and I wanted to try it on my body skin. But I was VERY disappointed after checking the ingredient list! It contains MINERAL oil! And so, I am never using it as a moisturizer. I may try it as a makeup remover but not so sure; Will have to do a research if I could safely use it on my facial skin. Any suggestions?
Doremon, Angry Bird, Walking Duck.. The cute Doremon stuffed toy was a love at first sight and I instantly grabbed it! To show my whole stuffed toy collection, I really need to do a separate post as I love (and BUY) them SO much! (No matter how weird my parents find it!) The angry bird is a spinning toy which sings and emits a light when you press the button! Tommy seems to hate it to the core! But I am still loving it. And the duck can walk, when you twist the key! How cute!
Other than the stuff shown above, I purchased some lovely looking violet-white flowers! I also got this fake-pearl chain along with a black wooden bangle and few pair of earrings! And there ends my shopping after my dad insisted me how we should go to the hospital before it turns too late!
P.S: Good part of my hospital visit – I didn’t have to get a flu shot! Though the doctor literally forced me to get one, I managed to escape and got pills instead of it. The saddest part – the doctor prescribed me 8 pills and a 15 ml worst-tasting-syrup-ever after EVERY meal! :( Though I am recovering, I am really hating the bitter medicine.
