Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush : Peachy Sweetie Review, Swatch, Photos

Feeling a bit under the weather today but I do not want to sit idle and be lethargic. I hoped to post something like my hair growth update (Are you aware of the blogger hair growth challenge that is going on?) but unfortunately, today was not the right day to click pictures of my hair due to the cloudy weather. Hence, I am reviewing this Maybelline blush. It was a part of my diwali festive makeup box sent by Maybelline!

Price : 275 INR for 7 g

My Views:

The blush comes in a tiny, compact case which has a girly-product kind of look to it. The product fits into my wallet very easily! It shuts tightly and the blush cake didn’t break even when I once dropped it down; hence no complaints about the packaging part. Though be sure NOT to drop it often as the case can get flimsy.

Though small, this blush is going to last me for a long time! I doubt whether I’ll finish it before the expiry date. The texture is smooth and the blush brush picks just the right amount of the product. I use my hands to apply as it is averagely-pigmented. One can layer it to make it look more pigmented on the cheeks. For a slight flushed out look, 2 swipes will be sufficient. More than 3-4 layers cause an ashy-pink layer on my cheeks as this is NOT that blush formulated for dusky skin tones. It suits lighter skin tones better. I can carry it with a good base; I even wore it once without the base makeup however, I should make sure my skin is smooth and moisturized as this blush tends to get patchy on dry-dusky skin types. On lighter skin tones, the finish doesn’t get ashy even if layered. But be cautious to make make it look chalky by over-applying.

The shade is simple gorgeous! It is a beautiful wearable pink with hints of peach and coral. The blush has minute silver shimmer present on it which is hardly visible on your cheeks unless you notice it too closely. It will either look pinky peach or peachy coral depending on the warmness of your skin. On me, it looks pink with a hint of peach. I can wear it everyday unless I am badly tanned.

The staying powder depends on how you wear it. 2-3 swipes and it stays for 2-3 hour one me! When topped over a similar shaded cream blush, it stays longer. With proper base makeup, I can layer it more than thrice, which means the staying powder will fall somewhere between 3 and 5 hours. Again, for the price, no complaints!

Likes:

  • Cute packaging! Fits into the wallet easily.
  • Will last longer. No cheats in quantity even if priced low.
  • Lovely pink-peach shade with subtle hints of coral!
  • Makes a perfect everyday blush for college-office goers.

Dislikes:

  • I wish the shade was more intense, without getting ashy on deeper skin tones.
  • If you are looking for a blush with 5+ hours of staying power, this is not for you!

I am overall impressed with this blush from Maybelline that costs you a very little! For the price, it is a decent blush with good shade and texture. However, the pigmentation and staying powder can be improved. Best choice for college, school and office going girls! Do grab it and you will not regret it. Peachy sweetie makes a nice shade for beginners who cannot handle overly pigmented shades!

  1. I have the same shade and love it, it shows as a rosy flush on me and looks very natural. I dropped it few times and broken the cap, Well reviewed
