Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop Lip Balm Fierce N Tangy Review, Photos and FOTD

Hello Girls!

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. I just love everything about this season, the pretty lights, the Christmas and New Year decorations and undying spirit of people. But I hate one thing about this season. Yes it is the skin problem that tagd along like an uninvited guest at a wedding. I have dry skin and my lips are too sensitive to cold. They look like they are hibernating (chapped and lifeless).

Honestly, I have a thing for pretty lips and looking at my chapped lips my soul died a little inside. I was worried sick looking at them and I decided to do a little research on the new lip care products that were newly launched in the market. Thanks to Maybelline India page on instagram, they showcased their new electropop range. They are neon coloured lip balms with no tint. They are the improved version of Baby Lips Original. So after doing my research I finally gave in and decided to try it.

I was apprehensive about this product because nothing has ever worked wonders on my lips except the Burt Bee’s lip balm. A few days into using the product, I think it’s the time to review it!

Price : 135 INR for 3.5 gm

My Views:

The Electro Pop Fierce N Tangy is a neon yellow coloured lip balm which comes in a mint in packaging as the other Maybelline Baby Lips. The packaging sure looks cute and different from the other lip balms in this range. Unlike the old version it has a retractable lipstick type of packaging with a transparent cap which shuts close when pushed.

It is a no tint lip balm with the goodness of shea butter and vitamin E (I am a big fan of shea butter!). As I said the packaging looks good but it is of poor quality. Beware girls the cap may break anytime. The amount of product given is 3.5 g for 135 INR which is a fair deal compared to all the other costly lip balms like EOS and Burt Bee’s.

The product glides on the lips giving it a transparent sheen. I had an irrational fear about my lips turning yellow because of the electric pigment, but girls do not worry it is really a no tint lip balm. The pigment is not going to come off on your lips. The good thing I have noticed about this product is that 1-2 swipes are enough to give you a complete coverage . It has a sweet smell which reminds me of Sunfeast Treat Pineapple Flavored Biscuits. Trust me it smells exactly like that.

If you have pigmented lips, this is a product for you, it gives a glossy look hiding all the pigmentation on your lips. It sure does not stay for 8 hours on your lips. If you are a lip smacker or a constant food muncher then you have to reapply it every hour. And it is also keeping my lip problems at a bay with regular use. When applied onto matte lipstick it gives out a glossy effect which I love. It worked wonderfully when I exfoliated my lips and used it as a night treatment!

Likes:

  • Value for money. You don’t have to shell out your whole pocket money to buy it!
  • Gives a glossy look when applied onto your lipstick.
  • Glides smoothly onto the lips.
  • Shea Butter! Need I say more?
  • 1-2 swipes enough to spread throughout the lip.
  • Sweet fragrance.
  • Good texture.

Dislikes:

  • Quality of the packaging could have been better!
  • It does not fulfill its claim of 8 hour moisturisation.
  • The product is so balmy that there is a chance of falling apart.

Availability : Easily available online and offline!

Would I Recommend? : Of course! I say grab one soon ladies, it is a complete budget buy and will definitely become one of your go to go lip balms. It doesn’t only talk the talk but also walks the walk. Pamper your lips with this new range, I say collect all of them!

P.S : This is the first review I have written for ‘MABH’. I hope you’ll like it! Comment below and suggest me any other lip balms that you beauty lovers liked!

  1. @nivedita : ty very much…. trying to get my hands on the purple one .
@debarati : ty …. I like the packaging but my eletropop developed a slight crack on the cap .

  2. I love that it is yellow.. it seems to look, smell, and sound amazing! However, I have still not gotten any of these baby lips products. I tend to get boring with my lip balms and go for vaseline.. unless I want some pigment (which this one does not really have, hm?) then I will definitely try others!
