Hi all beauty geeks!
How are you enjoying this winter season? Did you watch the TV commercial in which the model tells “most of the liquid face washes contain sodium laureth sulphate and the sulphate harms your delicate facial skin”?? Then she introduces us with newly launched delicca powder face wash which claims to be sulphate free. The term ‘powder face wash’ attracted me and I rushed out (not literally though) to grab it. Here I am going to review that.
Price : 125 INR for 40 g
This face wash comes in a glossy black flip open bottle with an outer glossy black paper cover. I love this black packaging with silver writings on it, as it is quite stylish and sleek. The flip cap is tight enough and good in quality. Packaging is travel friendly with the outer cover. Somehow we are not accustomed with double packaging of a simple drugstore face wash. Normally they come in tube or bottle form but outer paper cover makes Delicca more elegant looking.
Well, first of all, I came across with other dry face washes of some local brands but they claim to be ayurvedic. But I think this is the first ‘powder’ face wash which does not claim so. This looks like a faint yellow colored dust. I think the color is for the turmeric powder content in it.
Pouring the powder, I rub it onto my wet palms and it dissolves in water and makes some foam just as a usual liquid face wash creates. Then I apply it on my wet face and it lathers medium. Not so many and not so less. I like the way it lathers. But some tiny dust particles don’t dissolve and give an effect of mild exfoliation. Though they are little harsh on facial skin I don’t hate them too. It gives me a clean effect after usage. It cleans the dirt from my face. I am not sure about the un-clogging pores claim as I have never noticed this to unclog my pores. It does not clog pores as well.
It definitely adds a glow just after use which is noticeable. But the glow does not stay more than half of an hour. It also removes excess oil from the face but does not control oil production. It does not claim that though. It is a good cleanser for all skin types. But I think sensitive skin beauties may find it harsh on their face as some tiny dust particles don’t dissolve.
It has a faint smell and this is not overpowering at all. I haven’t noticed vigorous breakouts on my face after using this. It doesn’t help to cure previous acne though. Very oily skin typed people may find it not so tempting!
How I Use Delicca Powder Face Wash?
Every morning I cleanse my face with this face wash! As it is in dust form I first wet my face with water and then pour some of the product in my wet hand. I gently rub it! Once sufficient lather is formed I apply it on my face. After some mild circular movements I wash it off with plain water. It gives me a squeaky clean feel. But I avoid it using in the under eye area. You should avoid any kind of foaming or lathering face wash around your eye and on lips as they tend to create age lines.
After drying, my skin feels a little stretchy so I immediately apply a toner (VLCC rose water toner) and I also apply my moisturizer. If you are stepping out, don’t forget to put on your sunscreen.
At bed time I do the same. Just in the place of moisturizer, I apply a winter care cream to keep my skin hydrated!

- It lathers mildly (not a con for me. But some may like much lather)
- Little harsh on sensitive skin due to the particles which are not dissolved.

- May not suit excessive oily skin beauties.
- One or two acne arose on my face but I am not sure about the culprit as I am using another two new products.
Rating : 3.85/5
Conclusion : Delicca powder face wash is easily available in any leading cosmetic store or other shops. It is mainly suitable for normal to dry skin girls. Sensitive and severe acne prone skin girls should stay away from it! Overall it is a new product in market and if you love to try out new things you may give it a try. Though it is not a must have one, I will repurchase it for the winter season only as in summer my skin gets too oily. It wouldn’t control that kind of oiliness. But for winter it is a good cleanser and I am quite pleased as it doesn’t contain sooo many harmful chemicals!
Have a good day. Enjoy winters! 🙂
