Happy Tuesday everyone!
How’s your week going so far? I am all wrapped up in my work but yet trying to spare time for a de-stress session. Last weekend, I’d been to a family occasion and we cousins had a lot of fun there. We spent most of our time on selfie-ing lol! For the very first time.. ever for my family occasions, I wore a saree with a traditional hair do!
P.S: Excuse my tired eyes. I didn’t sleep at all the other night. 😐
Outfit and Jewels:
I was in two minds whether to pick a saree or an anarkali suit for the occasion; but finally, I ended up in purchasing this beautiful peacock green (teal green) saree with golden border. This saree was the lightest (by weight) I could find in the ‘full work’ section of sarees in the store. It has beautiful golden embroidery designs printed on it. Though not so light, the saree did not make me feel uncomfortable. The saree blouse has embellishments and knotted designs on the back (but sorry, I forgot to get it clicked)
The maang tikka, earrings and neck piece were a set! The box also had a beautiful golden colored ring. My bangles I am wearing here are same teal colored ones, with golden designs. I was wearing a pair copper-golden flats which suited my outfit well. I shall soon share the pictures of it in a haul post!
I should admit it was a bit tricky to walk with the saree 😛 but I loved how it looked on me! I’m still on a weight gain diet and aiming to gain 10-15 more pounds. I hope sarees would suit me better then. However, I’ve already turned crazy about south Indian sarees and planned to grab few more soon! Any ideas on where to get them, readers?? 😕
Mirror Selfies. Oops! Sorry for the clarity. 😯
Coming to the occasion.. We all had a nice time! I happened to meet so many relatives who hardly recognized me after all these years. In the midst of that, my relatives started complimenting on how my hair looked! My cousins could spot the difference on how it turned more blacker and shinier after coloring it with the Casting Creme Gloss from L’Oreal Paris. I couldn’t feel more good after getting so many compliments on my hairstyle and the length. I tried a hair-puff and decorated my hair with jasmine and rose flowers at the back. It’s a traditional way of how south Indians do their hair! And it does bother me now why I hadn’t been trying this style all these years.. Sighh. 😡
At the time we got ready to get back home, I was literally blushing and I felt very khoobsurat that I can’t even describe in words! Coloring my hair at home was one perfect decision I took this month. Black hair looks more appealing when it is long. No I am not bragging; I am saying what I feel about my new hair look! To treat my hair that got me so many nice compliments, I am doing a hair spa this week as mentioned on the previous post! And after that, I’ll be doing some hair style tutorials on the blog. (You can check some amazing hair styling tutorials at Get the Look) Can’t wait. Stay tuned!
